“Lauren is wonderful! She was responsive and made both our cat and dog, that can be anxious, feel very comfortable. The house was exactly how we left it and the animals were as happy as can be.”

“Thomas was amazing. Our German Sheppard warmed up to him so quickly and had a blast being watched by him. We will definitely be using him consistently going forward, and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a pet sitter!!”

“Ash was a GREAT house and pup took care of Whitney for 10 days while we were away with tons of walks, meals and treats, cuddles and rubs and overnight stays, long walks and visits with her best dog friend, and even handled a contractor visit and an appliance installation! Both our home and our pup were in great shape when we got back- would recommend Ash for six stars if i could.”

“Kristin was a wonderful cat sitter who took great care of my two kitties while I was away. She was conscientious and communicative, sending updates and photos keeping me well informed of everything happening back home. Highly recommended!”

About: Hi there! I have two wonderful kitties and have had a dog in the past. I love both dogs and cats but especially cats! I have lived with or spent time with consistently many different temperaments of cats! They tend to like me as I don't approach them other than to let them sniff me and then let them come to me on their own terms. One of my cats, Millie, is a rambunctious, food stealing, sprinting devil who is also incredibly sweet. Her sister, Tiny Mouse loves to sit on my partner and nudge your phone out of your hand. The dog I had in the past with my ex-partner was a senior dog, so I do have experience with small, senior dogs. We did a lot of damage control as she got older with puppy pads, meds, letting her lead the way but helping her with walks, etc. I have lived with a large dog for several years in the past, as well as multiple cats. I have had to give meds to cats, dogs and I also have had rabbits! I LOVE rabbits and other small animals, both on the larger side and note. We had to give one of our bunnies meds through an injection in his neck, and I used to be a medical assistant so I can do injections for meds and give meds, etc. I work 9am-5pm with flexibility. Usually I can be somewhere by 5pm as long as I have a heads up! I can be available any time before work. The weekends I’m pretty open! Just check in with me and we can figure something out. I am super careful with dogs and always make sure I have an understanding of if they need tight leash control, can be off lease or will walk next to me! I like to understand what their routine is for walks, snacks etc. before I sit to make them as comfortable with me as possible! Cats I usually just make sure they don't get stuck in a closet somewhere (both of my cats sleep in our closets) or if they're an escape artist that they don't flee!!

“Michael was great watching Bonnie while we were out of town! He took great care of her and provided updates each day. The house was perfect when we got back and Bonnie was so chill. Will definitely be reaching out for his help again!”

“Priya watched my very sick yet hyper puppy and my active 3 year old Aussie while I worked long shifts one weekend She made me feel so confident that my dogs were in good hands. They can be rather crazy and that didn't scare her off at all! Such a blessing!”

About: My passion for caring started with dolls and stuffed animals, but has grown from that to animals and children. I've had experience taking care of many animals in the past (turtles, bunnies, cats, and dogs) and have extended my experience with animals to outside the home doing volunteer work. I'm currently enrolled in college taking Early Childhood Education classes and love to fill up my free time by taking care of animals! I go to school part time, and am currently finishing up the semester, so I'll have plenty of time to care for your pet(s)! I'm very flexible and can work on most if not all days of the week or weekend. Any time too! Just let me know what you need at least a day in advance and I'll do my best to deliver. Safety is my top priority. I take everything into consideration, and I'm very curious about each individual pet. I look for anything that could be a potential hazard and pay close attention to the needs of each animal. I love to play games and spend quality time with animals. I love cooking and preparing meals, so I get that same joy when prepping meals for a pet as well.
“Jaclyn knows the many moods and temperaments of dogs. Under the extraordinary confusion of a major home renovation project, she was able to settle our rescued pup upon arrival. We appreciated her excellent questions, skill, patience and forthright approach to leading him towards full exercise, calm homecomings and lots of fun in between. Thank you, Jaclyn!”

“Holy moly, Nieves is awesome! From the meet and greet, through our trip, to our return, she provided first class service. She communicates so well, lots of fun updates and pics and cute collages of my pet, and post it notes about her last day before she left. She followed our care document to a T and took the best care of Daisy. I highly recommend and will be booking her again!”

“Molly was fantastic house sitting with our very anxious dog, especially on short notice as we had a family emergency and had to leave town for a few days. She dealt with medication, not easy walks and our instructions and tips. She communicated so well, left our house spotless and showed great care and concern for our dog. Thank you Molly!!”

About: Animals have always had a special place in my heart. My journey started with pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family in middle school and grew to volunteering at local animal shelters and working in a boarding kennel to currently working as a vet assistant while at school, pursing a pre-veterinary science degree, giving me experience with animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments. At home I have a 14 year old beagle/boston terrier named Pepper who I just adore. I cannot wait to share my experience and love for animals with your pets while you are away :) As I am currently a junior pre-vet at UMass Amherst, my availability lies around my class schedule. I am available most evenings and weekends as well as most early mornings; however, my availability in the middle of the day is a little more limited. Feel free to reach out with times you were looking for, and I'd love to see if I can make it work! I understand that it can be strange for our pets when a new person comes in the house, so I encourage owners to reach out to schedule a meet and greet so I can meet your four legged friends before you are gone, making the process less stressful for everyone involved.
“Julie was amazingly flexible, as our schedule was unknown, and was there when we needed her. More importantly, she was good with Ricky, took him out for walks as well as for his sanitary needs, and kept us regularly informed, with pictures. If we are in the area again we will seek her to assist us, and Ricky, again.”

“Carol was great! She was very communicative. This was my first time having house/dog sittter. She was very self-sufficient and made me feel good about the process. We came home to a happy dog and a clean house. That is all I asked for. Thanks Carol!”

“Nancy is amazing, thorough, clear, communicative, thoughtful and incredibly caring. If you're wondering who to trust your pets and home with, look no further. Book her if she's available!”

My Passion to care for other people’s pets as a new career/business stems from the tragic loss of both my feline companions at the end of 2024. About: Hi I'm Alyssa! I've owned dogs, cats, rabbits, and fish all my life. I love to care for any and all animals when their owners are away because pets can get very anxious when home alone. I intend to relieve their anxiety and share a little love! I do have previous experience with walking multiple dogs in both urban and suburban residences as well as caring for multiple cat homes. I've also worked with all ages of pooches, everything from 2 months to 15 years old! I currently work part time overnights, so I am available for daytime drop-ins and overnight stays, as I would only be at work a couple days a week for a few hours. The safety of your pet(s) is of the utmost importance, including keeping the doors of your house securely closed, keeping your house clean, and focusing solely on your pet(s) during any outside time.
“Cam was nothing short of amazing! We have an old fuddy duddy cat who has never liked anyone except for us. However, the first night Cam spent at our house he was actively seeking pats from Cam! We even have photographic proof, thanks to Cam managing to snap a photo whilst actively petting him. We have another lovely petsitter who has literally been trying to make friends with Buster for 4 years and he still won't let her near him. Cam clearly has a magical touch.”

“Janet did a great job with the pups and with the house. Janet sent photos every day and kept us informed as to how the dogs were fairing. Both the dogs and the house were in perfect condition when we returned home. Thank you so much!”

The median cost per night for house sitting in Hatfield is $60
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hatfield
I was so impressed with the care and training that Nancy provided for our sweet but nervous rescue dog. We had adopted her just three weeks before our family had a planned week long vacation. We were very worried about who could care for her that we would trust while also staying in our home with her day and night. Nancy came to several visits prior to the week long stay at my home, to get to know our dog Pearl and our family. She took notes and interviewed us about Pearl and was very serious about the commitment to her. By the time I left for my trip, I had no worries about leaving her in such expert care. While on my trip, I received daily updates, photos and videos which calmed me so I could enjoy the trip. Nancy also sent me a few instructional videos on how she got Pearl to happily put her (feared) harness on in a fun game, and how she would leash her up in the morning with positive reinforcements. When I returned from my trip, I was greeted by a happy and more confident dog along with a house that was cleaner than how I had left it to begin with! She is professional and excellent!

Alexis was the best! Our cat was relaxed and happy when we got home. All of the plants were in good condition (and there were a lot of them). The house was clean and neat. None of the directions we left about our old house threw her off her game. Also, Alexis is great about communication: just enough pet fotos and check ins. I would definitely ask her to come back and I recommend her to others.
Julia is such a sweet, kind, compassionate, patient, smart, rockstar! We adopted a large mix breed 3yr old dog, and she was excellent with keeping up his training during the overnight we were gone! He was a happy dog! She played with him a bunch, and long walks. She also kept our home very tidy! We are looking forward to supporting Julia’s business as much as possible! HIGHLY recommend!

Our two large, adolescent pups were in such great hands the 3 days and 2 nights that Anna was at our house taking care of them. One of them is a recent rescue and a bit reactive to new dogs, so Anna did a great job of taking them on separate walks. We received plenty of updates and were happy to hear that our dogs were so at ease around Anna! If we go out of town again and need a sitter for Poppy and Bramble, we definitely will reach out to Anna again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 673 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hatfield. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hatfield walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hatfield maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hatfield choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hatfield. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
