“Tanya is the best! She gives super thorough updates (including great pictures), takes care of our cat so well (and gets along with him better than most people do lol), and goes the extra mile (cleaning up unexpected kitty throw-up, bringing in packages, etc.). Can’t recommend her enough!!”

About: I've worked in multiple areas of animal care including breeding and puppy development, dog daycare, and veterinary care. I have experience caring for all different breeds and ages of dogs! I don't have much professional experience with cats, but I have lived with many cats throughout my life and am a huge cat lover! I do not have any pets myself as I recently lost my dog. So i am in serious need of some dog time! I am available any time after 2:00pm sunday-thursday and all day friday and saturday(: some days i am available earlier than that, typically sundays and mondays im available around 12:30-1:00pm. I am happy to accommodate any of your pet's needs! I can walk, play, just give love, whatever makes your baby feel the most enriched and happy. I know every dog and cat has their own specific needs and I'm very dedicated to that! I live in a small studio apartment. There is plenty of great space to take walks near my house (i live right on the bike trail) but i do not have a fenced in yard. If this sounds like it could be suitable for your pet, i'm more than happy to board them(:

“Very attentive and communicative. Was on time for the visits and even gave a little extra time when she could which we appreciated! Very professional and knowledgeable. Would book her again!”

About: I’ve been surrounded by animals my entire life! From being raised with dogs and parakeets, to later expanding my personal knowledge to cats, rabbits, rats, and more, I understand that each pet is as unique as their owner and deserves to have their needs met. Patience and compassion are my keystones to pet care. My experience includes basic grooming, teeth brushing, utilizing a pill-popper tool/giving oral medication, spicy cat maintenance (trust me, I have my own), grumpy dogs, walking, play motivation, anxious pets, and verbal affirmations. Growing up, I trained two of my dogs from puppyhood, as well as converting a feral adult cat to basic training behaviors such as "stay” and even “paw!” I am an extremely quick study and am happy to cater to your pets' specific needs! I currently work 40 hours a week from about 8am-4:30pm, but have plenty of afternoon flexibility and full weekend availability! I am available on Saturdays and Sundays during the day for house/pet sitting, as well as Fridays after 5pm. This care is as tailored as you would like it to be! Based on your preferences and your animal's personality, I am happy to adapt to your family's needs. I can crate your dog, groom your cat, spend time with them in close or far proximity, add meal toppers to their dinners, you name it! Each pet is unique and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible while entrusting them with me.
“So patient and great with my pups! Appreciate the dedication and love for them you show! Gives me such ease being able to go away knowing they will be cared for so well!”

“Thomas has been wonderful to our pup. They’ve great walks together. He’s kind and responsive, and we feel very comfortable having our big ball of energy of a pup with him!”

“Noah was very pleasant, responsive, and great with the puppies. He is a great communicator and a very nice person. I’d recommend him very highly to look after anybody’s loved pets.”

“Nancy is a fantastic petsitter! She's highly professional, communicative, punctual, knowledgeable, responsible. . . and she really dotes on the pets. I feel confident taking a 12-day trip in September because my pets will get excellent, loving care from Nancy.”

“Great experience with Emily. She's conscientious, reliable, sends terrific and fun updates on each visit, and is willing to take on extra tasks like taking our cat to the vet when we discovered he had worms right before leaving town. She and our cat Zeke really hit it off, as I'm sure she would with any animal. Would definitely book her again.”

“Heather was very kind and attentive when watching my cats. She sent lots of photos, asked thoughtful questions when she met them and left the place tidy and they were well cared for. Thank you Heather!”

“Our two cats really liked Mickala. She went above and beyond helping us with several situations such as trimming a cat's nails and cleaning up some ants which got into the auto-feeders.”

About: *listed experience is for dogs, as cats seem to have their own experience area* I love dogs, cats, (guinea pigs, bunnies, and hedgehogs too—though I don't think that's an option here). I grew up with 3 cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, bunnies, and chickens. I have lived with cats and small dogs multiple times (housemates), and I have petsitted for friends and neighbors throughout my life. I have limited experience with walking dogs (I grew up with cats) but have loads of previous and current experience playing with dogs (family and friends). In college I walked and played with greyhounds at a rescue for racing greyhounds, and I also worked for a little bit at an animal shelter. I'd like to use this opportunity to figure out which type of dog I'd like to adopt someday. For now, as a new sitter on here, I'd be most comfortable doing drop in and play visits with cats and dogs of all sizes, and walking dogs of medium size or less. I've been told I have a calm energy when meeting animals, and the three dogs my friends currently own seem to gravitate towards me. I also like playing tug, throwing sticks, and having a lap dog come to me for rubs. I work at a school and have off in the summer. I have a flexible schedule in the summer aside from a few small trips. My plan is to update my schedule frequently to keep up with my availability. When I am back at work, I will have to revamp my schedule. As for right now, I would prefer to go to the pet's home, as mine is not currently pet appropriate (plants and size). If I come to know a cat and owner well, I would adjust and put the plants in a closed room so the kitty could safely roam the rest of the house. At a pet's house, I would love a run down of their favorite toys, when treats are allowed to be given, etc. I love taking photos already, so would absolutely love to photograph your dog or cat being cute and fun, and send those as an update.
About: I have been the proud dog dad of Franklin, a rescue 15 year old terrier mix who suffers from separation anxiety, for over 10 years. More recently, I have cared for him through eye removal surgery as well as terminal joint and heart issues. As a result, I have experience giving oral, ocular and topical medications. I have this experience with other dogs as well, as I am always quick to volunteer for any opportunity to walk or babysit a friend or families dog - even going so far as to visit dogs rather than people at family weddings. I am a recovering lawyer who wants to devote 100% of my time to your dog! Please check my schedule or reach out. Thanks, and tell your dog I said hi! First and foremost, I care for animals by showing them love and respect. When it comes to caring for your pet, I will conscientiously follow all instructions you provide and never put your pet in any danger. I am 100% focused on your dog when they're in my care, so I don't give them an opportunity to do anything unsafe!
“Bena was fantastic: The process went perfectly smoothly from their meeting in person with me and the cats and then following thru with the actual visits and accompanying pix, etc. The cats were content and fine when I returned. I highly recommend this ultra-pleasant and -efficient pet-watcher.”

About: I've taken care of and watched animals for practically my entire life, but the first time I had ever watched animals by myself was when I was around 10. I frequently watch and let my aunt's dogs out and have a cat of my own. I hope to have many animals someday! I am currently going to school full-time, but my classes only take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I will have plenty of time to hang out with your animal! I currently have a cat, so if your animal has an aversion to cats, I recommend booking someone else! My cat does not like other cats, but he has his own area, so they will not interact if I watch your cat in my home. If I pet sit at your home, I am accommodating to anything you need, whether staying over or just popping in to let them out!

About: Hello my name is Nieves, I have been a devoted animal lover my whole life! I enjoy spending time with animals, and lived with my own beloved dog Roscoe Burgers, until he passed in the fall. I believe every animal is unique and special, and worth getting to know. I am looking to spend time with your furry loved ones, be it going on a walk, or give you complete peace of mind while you are away from home. I am a true animal lover, and can't wait to meet you and your little sweetums. I work from home 3 of the 5 days I work, and enjoy going on walks in the immediate area. I walk before I got to work, on my lunch break, and after work. This is a habit I developed with my beloved pooch, and would be happy to continue with your pup on the leash. I also am happy to provide check-ins, or stays as your pet sitting needs ebb and flow. I am pretty structured, and can stick to the plan, or instructions that you lay out for me. My own dog was sick for almost 2 years near the end of his life, so I am familiar with administering medications, and needing to stick to a stricter timeline as needed. I also enjoy collaging on my phone, and would love to give you picturesque updates of your sweet pal(s).
“We asked Natalie to drop in on our two cats while away for a couple of weeks. Natalie quickly assessed and understood the differing needs and habits of our two indoor/outdoor cats. From her photo updates, they clearly felt comfortable and happy with her. Upon our return after two weeks, both boys were in good health and in good spirits! Thanks!”

About: I’ve cared for pets since I was 9 years old- I find such joy in connecting with animals and getting to know their unique personalities! Various close connections in my life have and continue to rely on me to care for their pets when they are away or need extra support for their pets. I am excited to meet you and your animals and build relationships with people and fur babies of all kinds! I am prioritizing caring for pets, therefore have a very flexible schedule! Reach out to me and I am positive we can find a schedule and routine that works for us both :) I can crate your dog if necessary through experience with my own dogs, and I have experience administering medication safely when necessary. I am very diligent about ensuring the safety of pets to abide with whatever their owners are comfortable with.

Sharene is wonderful and patient with my shy cats. She understands how to give them space so they are comfortable while also trying to get them to engage and come out of their shells, and is making progress! She sends lovely detailed updates and lots of cute photos. You can tell she truly cares about the pets in her charge. Her visits are great for both my piece of mind and their confidence and socialization. I'm so happy they're learning to trust another person and making a new friend.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
