Pet care fits easily into my daily routine. I work part-time as a cheer coach a couple of times a week and occasionally help with our family business, but my schedule is very flexible. This allows me to be available most days for quality time, pet visits, walks, and check-ins. I enjoy building pet care into my routine and making sure animals get the attention, exercise, and care they need while their owners are away. 🐾

Caring for animals is truly a passion of mine, and I treat every pet with the same love and attention I would give my own. Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, their safety, comfort, and routine are always my top priorities. Before a sit, I like to learn as much as possible about your pet’s routine, personality, and any special needs. Let me know about feeding schedules, medications, favorite toys, walking habits, and any behaviors I should be aware of. I’m comfortable with pets of all sizes and personalities, and I always try to keep their routine as consistent as possible so they feel secure and happy while you’re gone.
A typical day
A typical day with the pets I watch includes lots of cuddle time, playtime, and training. We’ll start the day with breakfast, then a walk and some outdoor time to explore new smells and get energy out. I enjoy playing games like fetch, I do know how to train off leash, I also like using toys and puzzles that keep pets mentally stimulated. I make sure they get plenty of love, attention, and relaxation time so they feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away.

I’ve spent over a decade working with animals, starting in Birmingham, Alabama, where I rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed dogs through a bully breed rescue. I’ve also rescued and socialized cats and kittens, rehoming entire families. I currently have an active profile with Trusted House Sitters that has several five star reviews. After moving to New England, I worked at a cat hospice and later as a veterinary assistant at an emergency hospital. I’ve always had animals since I was a kid—especially cats—and I’ve also cared for reptiles, small pets like hamsters, and even fish. I’ve lived in many homes over the years and have often housesat for friends and family, so I’m comfortable caring for both pets and the spaces they love. I even have experience as a house cleaner and organizer and believe in leaving spaces better than I found them.

Kayte is one of the best pet sitters I could ever ask for. She has house sat for me in three different apartments and has always taken incredible care of my cats, Mellow and Luna. One of my pets requires medical care, and Kayte handled everything flawlessly with compassion, confidence, and so much attentiveness. Kayte was one of the best pet sitters we have ever had, and we have been hiring pet sitters for over 9 years. Anyone would be lucky to have Kayte care for their pets and home. We first met over Zoom. Then she came to our house and we went over everything weeks before we left over seas. Then during her sit, we had a gigantic snow storm (2 feet of snow) and Kayte took care of everything. She looked after the dogs and kitty, shoveled the steps and out to the car. She even unburied my car and cleared it off before we came home. She sent texts and photos throughout her stay and kept in touch by phone as well. I can not recommend Kayte enough. She worked on training our dog Sasha and delt with temperatures below zero outside for days on end. She learned how to work the woodstove in case of a power outage and stayed on top of everything. If 10 stars are high, Kayte gets 20. If you hire Kayte, you will not be disappointed. Oh, she left our house immaculate and let me a wonderful present. She's the best!
