About: I've been taking care of animals all my life. I foster with two local rescues and for the most part I deal with puppies! But all dogs are welcome here. I currently work from home and so does my fiancée, so we are home most every day, all day. We will be working from home for the foreseeable future. We have a fenced in yard so that the pups can run around and play to their hearts content. We also have hardwood throughout the house so no worries about accidents!
About: My entire life I’ve had the blessing to care for pets. From my Rottweiler Roxie, to my sweet kitty Nala, I’ve learned what to look for to provide the best care to my animals. I’ve also had extensive training in caring for livestock. During my undergrad I spent three years as a pig farmer and I loved every minute of it. I’m hoping to work most days after 3pm but no later than 10pm. I have some flexibility on most weekends. Would prefer mornings during the weekend but I am flexible. I have a fenced in yard that my cat likes to explore in. I also have a laundry room that can be used to separate my cat from any of your animals if needed.
“I couldn’t be happier with Hailey! She took wonderful care of my cat and I appreciated the regular updates and photos that she sent. Her communication was excellent and I knew my pet was in good hands. I highly recommend Hailey to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

About: I have taken care of lots of pets growing up. My parents dog is in her senior years so getting a lot of practice with that as well. I love animals but my apartment doesn’t allow me to have a pet, I miss having one around. I work a hybrid position so my schedule can be more flexible on some days! I am also open most nights after the work day and on weekends! I live in an apartment so my home is not the best for a pet at the moment, but I am very respectful in someone else’s space and prefer a clean environment so I will always pick up after myself & your pet.
About: Growing up, my family always had cats and dogs, and I cherished every moment spent caring for them. Over my life I’ve cared for a variety of small pets, including guinea pigs, gerbils, degus, hamsters, freshwater fish, and turtles. I’ve personally raised cats, dogs, and guinea pigs of my own. I've been hired by friends, family, and friends of friends&family to care for dogs as drop-ins, over night stays, and boarding in my home (although I cannot offer boarding right now). Currently, I have a Pomeranian named Bonbon that I raised from a puppy, giving me valuable experience in training and care and motivation to continue learning about dog behavior and understanding their needs, which helps me create a safe and loving environment for pets of all ages. I take special care to follow any dietary or health needs your pets may have. I will care for your pet by paying close attention to their habits and behaviors to ensure I meet their needs while you're away. I work remotely with a pretty flexible schedule and daily work routine - which allows me to step away and do walks, potty breaks, feeding pretty frequently. Depending on the type of care, I would typically need at least 3 to 7 days notice, but don't hesitate to ask if you're in a pinch. I cannot care for pets in my home at this time, but I have experience staying with pets at their homes for up to two weeks. I prioritize following the instructions provided by pet owners and always ask clarifying questions to ensure I understand their needs - communication is key for me, as I prefer not to make assumptions. In emergencies, I remain calm and focused, ensuring the safety and well-being of the pets. Additionally, I respect the owner's home, treating it better than if it were my own.
“Thank you very very much for taking good care of my cats. They look fine but they are hungry. I just got home at 5 o clock and I will feed them. Hope you get this note before you come over in this frigid weather.”

“Louise and I loved Makenzie. Prompt with each visit. Detailed messages including photos. Louise was clearly happy and felt safe with Makenzie. Given Louise’s timidness with new people, is a compliment to Mackenzie.”

“Quinn is terrific. Punctual, responsive, trustworthy. He was attentive and understanding about the quirks of our two dogs and seemed to be a real dog enthusiast in general. Our dogs took to him right away.”
“Ashley aka Red is the best in the area. She loves our pets as if they were her own and we cannot thank her enough for helping us when we have to go out of town. She is always on time, kind and courteous and I know our furry friends love her too. Thanks Red for all that you do for us and the community.”

“My doggies needed a check-in at the last minute, and Arden was quick to respond to my request and ready and willing to help. My day could have been super stressful, worrying about my doggies while I was stuck away from home. But Arden, who is super reliable, made my day worry-free. Those kinds of seemingly small things make a big difference, and it's clear that Arden understands that. Highly recommend!”

“Samantha was great! This was my first time ever leaving my dog alone during the day, and Samantha completely eased my mind by answering all of my questions and sending lots and lots of updates. She went over and beyond by taking my dog for two walks to make sure she went potty before leaving, and was able to spend a lot of time with her. It’s so tough to find someone trustworthy to watch your pups, but Samantha is all that and more. I will definitely be booking with her again!”

“Excellent communication and timeliness! Helped feed indoor and outdoor cats as well as indoor and outdoor fish. Being there around the same time everyday for the outdoor cats means a lot to us. It was great getting pictures of the pets while we were away too! Having someone bring in mail and packages helped too.”

About: What sets me apart is that I genuinely love getting to know every animal’s personality and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I have experience caring for all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, bunnies, and even hedgehogs, so I’m comfortable adapting to different needs and routines. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or shy and needs a calmer approach, I’m patient, attentive, and focused on making them feel at home. I also understand how important updates are for owners, so I make sure to communicate and send photos so you can feel reassured while your pet is in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and making sure they feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate time for walks, feeding, playtime, cleaning up after pets, and giving them attention throughout the day. I’m also good at sticking to routines, so I can closely follow your pet’s normal schedule to help them feel more relaxed while you’re away. I always make sure pets are in a safe, clean, and calm environment where they feel comfortable and secure. In a client’s home, I carefully follow all care instructions, including feeding schedules, medications, walks, and any special routines your pet may need. I pay close attention to behavior and body language to make sure pets are happy and stress-free. I also keep communication open with owners by sending updates and photos, so you always know your pet is being well cared for.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up my family has always had a dog. I currently have a 8-year-old Sheltie and 2 year old cat of my own whom I love very much. Friends and family have relied on me for pet care such as walks, baths, and weekend dog sitting for many years. I am a teacher with summers off. My schedule allows me lots of free time to care for your furry family members! During the school year I can provide care after 3pm. I would like clear instructions as to how to best serve you and your furry friend! I currently live in an apartment, but have a yard around my building. Being downtown gives me access to many different parks and natural spaces.
“Jessa was punctual, professional, and very considerate with my dogs. She is very kind and it's easy to see how excited she is to care for pets while also helping you out.”

About: I’m a pet parent to both dogs and cats, so I know firsthand what it means to leave your animals with someone and hope they’re truly cared for — not just fed and checked on. I bring that same warmth and attentiveness to every sit. As a remote consultant and student, I work from wherever I am — which means your pets can have company during the day if that’s what’s best for them. I’m a longtime pet owner, which means I’m dependable, communicative, and genuinely animal-centered. Your home will be respected, your animals will be loved on, and you’ll actually enjoy your time away knowing someone fun and trustworthy is holding things down. I take feeding schedules, medications, and training rules seriously — because consistency is what keeps your pets feeling safe and settled while you’re gone. The goal is that your travel is disruptive to you as little as possible, and to your pets not at all. I value clear, direct communication and will keep you updated so you’re never left wondering how things are going. I’ll bring that same straightforwardness from our first message all the way through drop-off. I’m comfortable with dogs, cats, and small animals, and I love getting to know each pet’s personality and quirks. Whether your dog needs a playmate or your cat just wants company on the couch, I’m here for it. Every sit is a little different, and I think that’s how it should be — your pet’s needs shape how I show up, not the other way around. I work remotely as a consultant and student, so my schedule shifts week to week. What stays consistent is this: feeding times, medications, and check-ins happen on schedule regardless of what else I have going on. Those are non-negotiable. For house sitting I’ll be upfront during our meet and greet about what my week looks like so you know exactly what to expect. If I’m in a lighter work week I may be home most of the day. If it’s a heavier one, your pet will still be cared for on schedule with daily updates and photos so you’re always in the loop. I send daily check-ins and photo updates through the app — not because I have to, but because I’d want the same if it were my pet. In your home, my goal is to keep things as close to normal as possible. I follow your lead on space, boundaries, and routines — whether that means crate time, free roam, or somewhere in between. You know your pet best and I’m here to honor that. My activity style matches the pet. Some animals want to play and roughhouse, others want a warm body nearby while they nap. I pay attention to what they’re telling me and respond accordingly — no forcing, no overstimulating, no ignoring. For cats specifically I understand that trust is earned on their timeline, not mine. I’ll be present and available without being intrusive, and I’ll make sure their food, water, litter, and any medications are handled consistently every single day. For dogs I make sure they’re getting outside regularly, staying on their feeding schedule, and getting the kind of engagement that fits their energy level.
About: Animals have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember! I've owned and cared for a variety of pets over the years and have experience with animals of different ages, personalities, and care needs. One of the most rewarding parts of my pet-care journey has been fostering. I'm currently a foster with Capital Area Humane Society (CAHS) and have also fostered for other shelters in the past. Through fostering, I've cared for pets who were shy, energetic, recovering from medical procedures, learning social skills, or simply looking for a safe place to land before finding their forever homes. I also have two dogs who don't currently live with me, but I absolutely love spending time with them whenever I can. Whether it's long walks, outdoor adventures, or hiking local trails, I'm happiest when I have a furry companion by my side. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, loved, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m currently unemployed, so I am available almost 24/7 to care for your pet(s)! My schedule allows me the flexibility to provide reliable and attentive care for pets throughout the week. I make it a priority to plan my day around the pets I'm caring for so they receive the attention, exercise, potty breaks, meals, and companionship they need. Whether your pet thrives on a structured routine or is more laid-back, I'm happy to work with their individual schedule and needs. Communication is important to me, so you can also expect regular updates, photos, and check-ins while you're away. I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I take that responsibility seriously. My approach is centered on safety, patience, and positive interactions. As a foster caregiver, I've worked with animals from many different backgrounds, which has taught me how to read body language, respect boundaries, and help pets feel comfortable in new situations. I carefully follow all owner instructions regarding feeding, medications, exercise, routines, and household rules. I believe every pet deserves individualized care and attention. My goal is to provide a safe, stress-free experience where both pets and owners feel confident and comfortable. You can count on me to treat your pets with the same love and care I would give my own.
Lansing dog parents share their Rover experiences
Alexander is a pet whisperer. My pooch can be very anxious, and is prone to bark at people she doesn't know. When Alexander arrived for the meet and greet, my girl walked up to him straight away without hesitation; and not one bark. Something I had never seen her do before. Knowing she was in his care brought me great peace of mind.
Tennille is the best! We had her stop by and check on our two dogs while we were out of town and they were in such good hands! She kept us updated with every visit, including so many pictures and our dogs warmed up to her very easily! Very trustworthy- we will defiantly be repeat customers🙃

Carson took great care of our pups. She fed them breakfast and played with them in our backyard for the remainder of the hour drop in. When our pup, Tito, decided to go for an early morning swim in his pool towards the end of her visit, she made sure to dry him off before bringing him in and locking up.
