Pet care experience

Cat & Dog Whisperer

Hello, fellow pet lovers! Though I’m new to Rover, I’ve spent a lifetime caring for all kinds of animals; I grew up as the eldest sister on a family farm, so animal-care has been a huge part of my daily life since before I can remember. As a result, I'm very happy to care for larger crews and am comfortable and confident with big dogs. I have a patient and gentle approach that helps pets feel comfortable and loved, whether they’re energetic pups, shy rescues, snuggly “velcro” pets or seniors with special routines or medical needs. I specialize in connecting with anxious dogs and cats. I'm also very active and love a workout, so if your dog is a jogger, a hiker or enjoys long walks, I'm your gal! My household is shared with three cherished senior cats—Oobah, Anya and Ducky—which means I don’t offer in-home boarding, but welcome all kinds of sitting and care at your place. Losing my sweet soul-dog Maeby after 14 wonderful years makes every dog walk and cuddle a true delight. I’m an experienced foster for Against All Odds, with a knack for creating a safe, happy environment for every personality. Open to special requests, comfortable with senior or special-needs pets, and always ready for questions so pet parents feel at ease.

Jessa is a very caring dogsitter. She gave Mini lots of attention and pets and took good care of her during a long weekend. I appreciated the regular updates, both photos and videos! Good in communicating, and quick to respond. Will definitely use again.

Oliver loves Jessa to the point that he is now spooning with her in bed! He also now trusts her enough to forego his usual hunger strike when we leave. We recommend her wholeheartedly and will continue to return to her to take care of our sweet guy when we travel.

Jessa was great at communicating and sending photo and video updates. She seems to really care about our dog and gave her lots of pets. We came home to a clean house and a happy dog!

Jessa was wonderful! She was so great with our cats and our puppy. All of our pets loved her and she kept us updated on their activities while we were gone. I would absolutely recommend her as a housesitter.

Schedule

I work in-office Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8-11:30 and 1:30 - 5. When I am pet-sitting I am out-of-office for 2 hours midday so I can take care of potty breaks and lunches and then work from "home" for an hour so your pets do not feel lonely. When pet-sitting, I treat your home as my home-base and am not gone longer than 4 hours at any time.

Jessa can host up to 3 drop-ins per day
I require a free meet-and-greet before any service with a dog or any pet with anxiety or a medication schedule, so they can become comfortable with me and we can go over your care needs. I will want to know things like your pets routine, location of their items (food, leash, meds, etc), their triggers and boundaries, vet and emergency contact info. For housesitting, a written guide for sitters is always very helpful.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
