About: I grew up in a neighborhood that had many animals, and I would help take care of them. I am friendly, and most animals are comfortable with me from the start. I have been volunteering at an animal shelter since February of this year. I'm not able to have pets in my current apartment and missed being around animals. Due to this, I decided to volunteer at the animal shelter. The animal shelter has taught me how to work with animals that have disabilities, elderly and puppies. I currently work in the legal field and would like to do something that makes me happy after a day in the office. I now am the stepmom to two loving, and beautiful cats named Momo and Saya.
About: I was recently accepted to Cornell University for veterinary school and have some time to spare for your fur babies before I leave in August! I worked one year for a nonprofit veterinary service called CAMP clinics and another year at an emergency and specialty medicine pet hospital. At home I own a sweet Labrador retriever named Luna and a sassy hamster named Davinci. I am comfortable with giving oral medications if your pet is able to take them in a treat without being restrained. ✨ New to Rover? Use code NATALV52479 for $20 off your first booking ✨ I am free until August, but will be going to Asia from April 14th-June 10th (with some weeks in May that I will be back) as a final trip before starting vet school. Besides those dates I am fully available to help care for your pet whenever convenient for you. I love taking my dog for a walk in the park or playing tug of war/fetch in the evenings. I have a very active dog and would love to play with yours! I understand that dogs may have certain anxieties regarding their surroundings or other people/animals and take great care to make sure they are comfortable and properly cared for.
About: I’m a passionate animal lover who truly enjoys spending time with dogs and providing the personalized care they deserve. I’m patient, trustworthy, and compassionate, and I treat every dog like they’re part of my own family. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or cuddles, I make sure each pet feels safe, loved, and happy. I can offer weekday walks starting early morning walks 6-8am afternoon walks between 12-2pm and evening walks 6-9pm. I am also available on the weekends and am flexible with your time preference. As each dog is different I know their care is different as well. Currently in my home I have a senior dog that requires medication 2 times a day and a 5month puppy who requires a lot of attention and patience. I understand the challenges and dedication it takes to take care of a pet.

About: I have taken care of fur babies since I was in my 20s when I adopted my first cat (Irie) and then shortly after a dog (Chula) too. They were my first fur baby loves on this earth. I could sit and watch them play for hours because they became besties for life. They will be deeply missed but will always be my first fur baby loves. I am currently working part-time so I have plenty of time to care for your fur babies. I am available all week days and weekends! I live in a home with a fenced in backyard with plenty of room to get energy out! My doggos staya indoors (we have central A/C) unless we are home then they will come outside and enjoy the backyard with us. We live in a calm neighborhood with 3 parks around us that the doggos love walking too and running off leash. I can also accomidate doggos who are crate training.
“I would be asking her again when I need help. She was wonderful. I had many requests during a one hour visit and she did everything! My baby also seemed she had a good time with her. Thank you!”

“Livio dropped by our house at exactly the time agreed and checked on our cat and dog. He cleaned the water fountain, cleaned up left over food and put new food. He did a great job, highly recommended.”

About: I’ve worked in the veterinary field for over 6 years now. I began as a kennel attendant for boarding and walking pets. I have watched my family and friends pets as well. I work full time currently, but am available after 5 pm and before 7 am. I am available all weekend as well and can make adjustments to my schedule. I have 2 fur babies, a Doberman/GSD mix and a dachshund/pug mix. I currently offer walking services and check ins or pet sitting at clients home.
About: I have taken care of dogs since I was 9! I provide reliable, personalized pet care with experience handling puppies, senior pets, medication administration, routine reinforcement, exercise, and regular updates for owners. I am currently a college student! So I would have time to check in on the baby’s, have some fun walks, and make sure everyone is safe and sound. At home, I have two small dogs they are both maltese boys. I make sure they are fed on time, have their daily walks, and I spend quality time with them! I sometimes even like to take them shopping. I would be willing to cater to whatever the pup/owner wants!
“Letting someone into your home take care of your oets is a nerve-racking experience. We are so grateful to have found Vy. She was very thorough on making sure she understood what our pets needs were before, even stopping by before the term started. She was a great communicator, letting us know every time she stopped by with photos and we felt like we were there real time in terms of updates. It really put our minds at ease. We’ll definitely be rebooking with her next time we head out of town!”
“Asmita is the absolute best!!! She is super friendly and communicative , she made sure to keep us updated on each visit with our Sunny bear, she sent pictures and videos daily which were very reassuring that Sunny was in great hands. We definitely recommend her to anyone.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - La Palma
We’ve used Michelle twice now, and she has taken great care of our two cats both times, including a week-long stay recently. She is responsible, dependable, and gave us peace of mind while we were away. We appreciated knowing our cats were being well cared for and wouldn’t hesitate to use her again in the future

Livio and Chen took great care of our cat Micky this past week! They were super communicative and kept us updated throughout with lots of pix and videos of Micky. They also brought to our attention a potential concern to follow up on which we really appreciate!

This is my second time booking with Asmita to take care of my two cats, and once again, she provided amazing service. She is very easy to work with, attentive, and always made sure my cats were well taken care of. She regularly refilled their water, followed all of my requests and instructions, and even helped take care of my mail and packages, which I truly appreciated. What I appreciated the most was the constant updates through pictures and videos, which gave me peace of mind while traveling and being away from my cats. Most importantly, she spent quality time with them and made them feel comfortable and cared for. I will definitely continue working with Asmita whenever I travel, and her service has always been 100%.

We love Candy! Candy did great taking care of my kitten and my medically complicated rat. She was able to perform more complicated medical tasks for the rat without difficulty. My pets loved her and she went above and beyond, even stopping to check on my roof to make sure it wasn’t leaking during the rainstorm.

Whitney is the best! So sweet with the animals, and very communicative and sweet with us, too😄 We used her for drop-in kitty visits this time (we use dog walking as well), and will definitely use her again. Whitney makes traveling and being away from the animals very easy.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in La Palma. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
