“Valerie is absolutely wonderful and truly goes above and beyond! She not only took excellent care of Luna, but also did thoughtful extras like vacuuming the carpet — something she absolutely did not have to do and was so appreciated! Luna is extremely shy and usually hides, often making it difficult for anyone new to connect with her. Valerie was incredibly patient and gentle, giving Luna the time, attention, and calm presence she needed to feel comfortable. It honestly means so much to find someone who can build trust with her, and Valerie did exactly that. She is very responsive, reliable, and clearly genuinely cares about the pets she works with. I feel very confident recommending her and will absolutely use her again. We are so grateful to have found her!”

“Cassie took such good care of our two dogs while we were out of town and even through power outages over the weekend she still came and took care of them in the dark. Will definitely be booking with her again when needed”

“Bradley did drop-in visits last weekend while we were out of town for an overnight trip. We have two rescue dogs who can be a bit needy, but they did fine with Bradley coming in and out to care for them. We're happy to have found Bradley and would highly recommend him.”

“Beth is great! She came to my house for a meet and greet before checking in on my cats for a week, she took notes on everything they needed, and she sent me daily pictures and updates. Definitely going to her next time I need a cat sitter!”
“Diana was wonderful to work with and did amazing with our 2 dogs. This was our first time using the service and also leaving them home alone and she did amazing easing our worries and went above and beyond to make sure they were taken care of. We will certainly ask her to come back next time we need someone to look after them!”

“Emma was very responsive and sent plenty of photos. She listened to whatever my pets needs were and made sure they were taken care of properly. When i go out of town again I will be sure to look to Emma to watch my fur babies and know i won't have any worries when I'm away.”

“It was very comforting to know that I have two cats were well taken care of by Lori W. She kept us updated on their feedings & overall care very single day, which gave us great relief as we traveled. We will surely request her again in the future and appreciate her time and consideration”

“Leisa was fantastic. It was hard to leave our pets and she made us feel so safe. I came home and could tell they were well taken care of. Thank you for being so caring, Leisa.”

“Jen is very patient and took her time getting to know my cats. She didn't rush them and they came around and got to know her. She is timely and took care of everything as requested.”

“Nikki is such a wonderful sitter and always leaves fun informative details and pictures. She even has taught my cat to use a toy she had but never knew what to do with it! I highly recommend Nikki, she is exceptional!”

About: I LOVE animals and everything they have to offer. I offer pet sitting, drop-ins, and walks with a focus on keeping every pet safe, comfortable, and happy. I love building trusting bonds with pets and their families and I am flexible with schedules and routines. I truly enjoy every aspect of pet-sitting, and treat each animal as if they were my own precious best friend. In my free time, I volunteer and foster animals through a local shelter, caring for dogs of all ages and personalities. I’m a college student at Ohio State who truly enjoys being around animals, whether that’s going on long walks, providing calm companionship, or giving extra patience to pets who need it. I’m available for pet sitting and drop-ins, and can provide care outside of my work hours. I work Monday through Friday from 8–5, so pets would need to be comfortable being alone during that time. I’m typically able to provide potty breaks about every 4 hours, including a midday visit during my lunch break. If additional midday care is needed, I’m also happy to coordinate a drop-in visit. I’m fully available before and after work, as well as on weekends. I’m very tidy, organized, and respectful of everyones homes, and I make sure everything is kept clean and well cared for during my stay. I care for each pet as if they were my own, taking the time to assess their individual needs, routines, and comfort levels. I always follow your preferences to ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and at ease while in my care.
“Jill is such an incredibly nice person and really cares about the health and happiness of the animals she takes care of. She treated my boys so well and went above and beyond for me during her visits. I really appreciate her service and would absolutely book again.”

About: I have loved animals my entire life (I am 22), and I put extra care and effort to ensure they are comfortable around me and in their environment. I volunteer with the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, where I also foster kittens (including bottle babies and young litters who need round-the-clock care). At home, I currently live with two cats: a senior cat and a 3-month-old kitten. Caring for both at the same time has given me real, hands-on experience managing the very different needs of aging pets and young ones, from diet and enrichment to vet coordination and socialization. As a full time graduate student, my schedule is flexible to check in on your pet, provide feedings, playtime, and companionship. I can accommodate flexible drop-off and pick-up times and am happy to send photo updates so you always know how your pet is doing. Your pet’s safety and wellbeing will always be my top priority during every visit. I consider myself detail oriented and always follow each owner’s care instructions exactly. I know how to recognize early signs of stress, illness, or discomfort, and I’ll always communicate any concerns to you promptly. You can count on regular photo updates every visit so you always have peace of mind.
“We knew our cat was getting the attention and care needed from Alli while we were out of town and appreciated the photos she sent. We really appreciated Alli's flexibility when my original flights were cancelled.”

“Joseph did such an amazing job taking care of my two Great Danes over a long weekend! He was very communicative, sent lots of picture updates, and I know both dogs truly appreciated the quality time he spent with them. This was my first time using Rover, and Joseph made me feel very comfortable. Highly recommend! :-)”

About: I've had dogs ever since I was 10, but my experience with them goes far beyond that. When I was a little kid, before I ever had a dog, I would go to this read with a dog program called "Paws to Read." I would spend countless hours reading to the dogs and befriending them, along with a cat or two here and there. When I was 10, I got my first dog, a husky, and gave him a wonderful life. He had quite a few medical issues and behaved older for his age because of it, so I know how to provide senior pet care. He has since passed, but my two current dogs, one pitbull and one pitsky, remind me every day how important pets are to me. I've had them both for eight years now, during which we've taken numerous car rides, walks, enjoyed outside and inside playtime, movie nights, and anything a dog could dream of. Now, while I've never had a cat because of the majority of my family being allergic, I never turn away from a cat. I'm a regular at the Gem City Catfe, where I play with the cats often and have gone so often that they are comfortable with me. I keep cat and dog treats on me in case I come across a stray, because all cats and dogs deserve to feel some love. I've also dog-sat and house-sat for a few friends before, so I know how to handle situations like pets not getting along, bathroom accidents, and being a bit of a picky eater. Currently, I am a full time student and work full time at UDRI (UD's Research Institute) from 8:30am - 3:30am. During the summer I won't be taking any in person classes, just two online. But when I return to UD for my final year, I will be taking classes again and may be slightly more limited. When it comes to my pets and caring for clients pets, the comfort of the pet is most important to me. Personally, my two dogs don't get along with each other very well, so they typically have to be separated. Even so, I always make sure to treat them both equally and give them lots of love! If I take one for a car ride and ice cream, I bring ice cream back for the other and take the other for a car ride later that week. If my client has dogs similar to mine, who need to be separated, I would be sure to treat them equally and split my time with them according to my client's requests. Given single-pet households, I'd spend a lot of my time with them! In my downtime, I'd make sure to sit with them while I work on coursework. I'd be sure to take them on walks and go for potty breaks. And of course I'd make sure we get a lot of play time in and lots of love!
Kettering pet parents share their Rover experiences
Jennifer was a great vacation mom for our two cats. She filled the void of our absence perfectly. She took care of both of them, fed them, made sure the litter box is good to go, mittens even came and wanted to be played with. Pope on the other hand is a very selective cat, she only wants to be pet on her time, even with us. Jennifer left pictures each day, of how she interacted with our cats. Highly recommended to each and every cat owner as a caretaker. Will definitely book her again

Thank you so much Emma for taking so much loving care of Baxter and Birdie! So grateful to know you were here for them, they looked so happy in every moment captured! I think now that we are back, there are certain times of the day I see them looking for you to come play ☺️ thanks again!

Erin is amazing! She has taken care of my pups a few times now and she is incredibly responsive, is caring and loving to them, and goes above and beyond any expectations I would ever have. If you want your fur babies cared for while away, with no worry, choose Erin! I cannot say enough good things!
