“Bradley did drop-in visits last weekend while we were out of town for an overnight trip. We have two rescue dogs who can be a bit needy, but they did fine with Bradley coming in and out to care for them. We're happy to have found Bradley and would highly recommend him.”

“Valerie was absolutely wonderful!!! She FAR exceeded my expectations! She responded to my request within an hour and had excellent communication with me the entire time. My son is out of town and she went to his apartment to check on his cat, Luna. Luna is extremely shy and rarely comes out for anyone — she barely comes out for me — but Valerie was so patient and gentle with her. She stayed with Luna, sent me photos and updates, and even cleaned out a very unpleasant litter box that I truly didn’t expect anyone to deal with. That alone meant so much. You can immediately tell she has a genuine love for animals and such a kind, caring soul❤️. Valerie is recently retired and clearly does this because she truly loves animals, and it shows in the level of care she gives. I cannot say enough good things about her!! I will absolutely be using her again and again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy, communicative, and incredibly kind with their pets. 🐾❤️❤️❤️”

“Anne Marie was incredible! She was timely and kept us up to date with photos and notes every time she visited with our dog. Would recommend her to anyone!”

“Brooke is amazing! Accepted my last-minute booking and arranged a meet & greet beforehand. Delta loved her right away & Brooke was very patient with her high energy jumping and affection! I felt totally comfortable leaving Delta in her care for a midday potty break while I had a very long day at work. Loved getting photos during her visit. Will absolutely book again if the need arrises!”

“Sara has been great with my corgi, Cersei! She is always on time and has been incredibly flexible with my schedule. She is also very considerate with Cersei and accommodating to her needs for the past few months and Cersei loves her. She will continue to be my go-to whenever I need someone to help with Cersei.”

“Cassie took such good care of our two dogs while we were out of town and even through power outages over the weekend she still came and took care of them in the dark. Will definitely be booking with her again when needed”

“Monroe has been great with checking on our cats! She always writes a great summary of each visit, and takes precious photos! We feel so confident that our cats are getting so much love when she comes to visit :) we are grateful for Monroe, and will definitely ask to book with her for our future travels!!”

“Not only is Dorothy an excellent dog sitter, but she is a true animal lover! This was confirmed at our meet and greet when she rescued a parakeet that had gotten itself lost and seemed to be begging her for help! It was amazing! Happily, the parakeet has found a wonderful, forever home with Dorothy! She is great!!!”

“Christina was great! She dealt with my cat's oral medication needs and chaotic litterbox habits. The kitties were happy and healthy and she left everything very clean and tidy!”

“Great communication and thorough updates. Showed up when she said and stayed the entire time. Would fully trust her with my puppy again anytime and recommend her to any friends.”

About: I've had dogs ever since I was 10, but my experience with them goes far beyond that. When I was a little kid, before I ever had a dog, I would go to this read with a dog program called "Paws to Read." I would spend countless hours reading to the dogs and befriending them, along with a cat or two here and there. When I was 10, I got my first dog, a husky, and gave him a wonderful life. He had quite a few medical issues and behaved older for his age because of it, so I know how to provide senior pet care. He has since passed, but my two current dogs, one pitbull and one pitsky, remind me every day how important pets are to me. I've had them both for eight years now, during which we've taken numerous car rides, walks, enjoyed outside and inside playtime, movie nights, and anything a dog could dream of. Now, while I've never had a cat because of the majority of my family being allergic, I never turn away from a cat. I'm a regular at the Gem City Catfe, where I play with the cats often and have gone so often that they are comfortable with me. I keep cat and dog treats on me in case I come across a stray, because all cats and dogs deserve to feel some love. I've also dog-sat and house-sat for a few friends before, so I know how to handle situations like pets not getting along, bathroom accidents, and being a bit of a picky eater. Currently, I am a full time student and work full time at UDRI (UD's Research Institute) from 8:30am - 3:30am. During the summer I won't be taking any in person classes, just two online. But when I return to UD for my final year, I will be taking classes again and may be slightly more limited. When it comes to my pets and caring for clients pets, the comfort of the pet is most important to me. Personally, my two dogs don't get along with each other very well, so they typically have to be separated. Even so, I always make sure to treat them both equally and give them lots of love! If I take one for a car ride and ice cream, I bring ice cream back for the other and take the other for a car ride later that week. If my client has dogs similar to mine, who need to be separated, I would be sure to treat them equally and split my time with them according to my client's requests. Given single-pet households, I'd spend a lot of my time with them! In my downtime, I'd make sure to sit with them while I work on coursework. I'd be sure to take them on walks and go for potty breaks. And of course I'd make sure we get a lot of play time in and lots of love!
“Elisa was able to come over with only a few days notice to let our dogs out and spend sometime with them. We really appreciate her communication and the pictures!”
“Beth is amazing! She was able to come last minute after another sitter canceled due to health reasons. She is patient with my 3 month old puppy and we both appreciate her advice on house training.”

About: Volunteered at a pet shelter and cared for many different dogs with various needs and personalities. I looked after puppies, senior dogs, and even dogs with behavior issues, working alongside dog trainers who taught me how to read canine body language. Flexible student sitter available for walking and overnight boarding. Whether it’s a weekday trek or a weekend stay, my schedule allows me to prioritize your pup’s needs and exercise. I have a BIG fenced yard and two friendly dogs that can keep you dog company. I also have inside and outside cameras to always be able to check on the dogs.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Oakwood
We have used Cassie multiple times before, but we decided to use a neighborhood kid to help with the dogs for a long weekend away this time… but he had a family emergency and couldn’t finish his commitment with very little notice. I was freaking out and 3 hours away, and messaged Cassie- she stepped right in and took over caring for the dogs with just a few hours notice. THANK YOU Cassie- you are always reliable and take great care of Petey and Dexter- we will only use you from now on!!

As a first time Rover user, I was a bit apprehensive about being away from my kitty for the first time. Brooke quickly put those concerns to rest with her professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine love for animals. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Dorothy was fantastic! The meet and greet went great and she kept in communication the whole time we were gone. She was prompt about making sure the house was secure. Our cat normally roams outside, but she noticed he was hanging out under cars in the front, which is not normal, and she made sure to get him out from under and back inside. She was very nice and very responsible. We will def book her again.

Brooke is amazing! Will absolutely book again if the need arrises!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
