“I really appreciated how Kira took the time to answer all of my questions and learn about Tucker’s needs before booking the stay. It was very important to me to find the right place for him since it was our first time away since we adopted him. Communication was great! Tucker seemed to have a great time and I was able to relax on our vacation. I would definitely let Tucker stay with her again”

“We could not have wished for or dreamt of a better experience than with Donna and Will. They are dog lovers to the core and Murphy had a fantastic time. We'll be using them again soon for sure.”

“Jamie was a wonderful sitter! She kept in touch with pictures and updates while we were away. Our dog seemed much happier and calmer when we picked her up. We feel an in-their-home boarder is the way to go! Highly recommend Jamie!”

“Amber was a great dog sitter. She sent pictures and updates of Wrigley everyday and he came home happy and smelling fresh. I know he had a great time with Amber and loved playing with her dogs. I will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Dasha (and her little lady) were fantastic! Not only did she take great care of my 150-lb beast of a lapdog, she also took great care of my home. My house and my pup…both were like I hadn’t been gone at all. It’s obvious she treats the dogs in her care with lots of love and laughter. I can’t recommend her strongly enough!”

“James & Emily were great with our Honey Jo! They sent us pictures, had great communication, and walked Honey during her stay with them. We were traveling by plane so our trip timing was up in the air, but James & Emily were flexible with our drop off & pick up times. Would love to use them again!”

“Ashley and Jason gave Krunky a great experience. He was exhausted and I believe he wanted to stay longer. I will see definitely let them keep him again soon! Thank you for helping me at the last minute!”

“Would love to have her to oversee Titus anytime. She kept me informed at all times. He loved his company. Her family is very welcoming. I’m thankful that she was available to assist me at the spur of the moment. I’m really satisfied with overall service Rover provides for my pet Monster Titus. Rick”

“Kelsey and her family were so great watching our dog during our extended vacation! Our dog came home happy and exhausted! They were very communicative throughout the stay and sent pictures. They also promptly dropped off and picked up our dog to the minute they said they would. Would definitely trust and leave our dog with Kelsey again!”

“Hailie has boarded our dog Cooper several times and has been very attentive and personable to work with. It's more like a close friend watching our dog rather than "boarding" him. He gets excited to go to her house and she has been flexible and understanding with unpredictable booking conflicts. We will continue to call on Hailie for our Cooper's "babysitting" needs😁”

“Erin goes above and beyond when taking care of Taylor making sure he has his medicines, checking with me if she has any questions, and sending pics. We never worry when he’s with her ❤️”
About: As a dog mom myself I know it’s nerve wracking having to leave your fur baby in someone else’s care.. That’s why I make it priority to give every pet parent the same peace of mind I’d want for my own dogs. When your fur-baby is with me, they’re treated like one of my own. I know no two pets are alike, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and preferences. So whether they love to play, need extra enrichment, enjoy quiet companionship, or do better with structure, I’ll make sure they receive the individualized care they’re used to at home so they feel comfortable! I also love keeping pet parents involved, so you can expect lots of photos, videos, and updates throughout their stay or visit! Pet care is already a part of my everyday life. Outside of caring for client pets, you’ll usually find me spending time with my own dogs, going on walks and hikes, working on training, and socializing. Caring for animals isn’t just my job, it’s something I genuinely enjoy every single day. All pup’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. My home is fully fenced for safe outdoor play, and dogs enjoy plenty of supervised playtime, enrichment activities, toys, and opportunities to relax throughout the day. Every dog is different, so I do my best to match their energy level and personality, whether they love to play with friends or prefer a little 1-on-1 attention. To keep everyone safe and comfortable, meals and treats are enjoyed separately, followed by a quiet rest break in their own cozy crate. I use crates as a positive, comfortable space to relax after meals as downtime which helps support healthy digestion before everyone is back to playing and exploring together.
“Very good experience! Kim was very informative and kept Oscar engaged. She gave him plenty of love, care, and exercise throughout his stay with her. She gave me lots of photos and videos to keep me updated. 10/10 would recommend!”

“We had a great experience with Lorraine. We adopted our pup from the shelter about a month before a trip and she did so good with his timid demeanor. Her dogs were friendly towards him and she had plenty of bones and enrichment space for him to explore. While away, she was quick to respond to my check ins and always provided pics to ease my anxiety. We appreciate you fitting us in quickly and taking care of our new family member!”

“Danielle took excellent care of my boy Steven while I was away. And even though I had to ask for an extension of his stay she was accommodating and welcoming. And maintained excellent communication throughout the two weeks of boarding for him. I’ll definitely be booking with her more frequently. I know Steven enjoyed his stay and even made some friends along the way. 10/10 will return!”

“Amber stepped in on an emergency basis. The reviews posted by others are very accurate! I handed off our pup and prayed all reviews were correct and flew back to the hospital. We received numerous pics and emails. It was very apparent our pup was happy and safe!! Thank you Amber!!!!”

“Peyton provided our dog with all she needed- a playmate, nourishment, exercise and most importantly security. Coby looks forward to spending time with Peyton and Oakley again soon.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Huntsville
Hunter did a great job taking care of my cats, Mina and Maya. She communicated well throughout the entire time, which I really appreciated, and I could tell she was very attentive and genuinely caring with them. My cats can be pretty scared and stressed in new situations, but despite that, Hunter did her best to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for them, and that meant a lot to me. I’d definitely trust her to watch Mina and Maya again in the future.

We had a great experience with Ashkan. This was our first time using him. He responded quickly to messages and sent photos every day. He explained how he manages his guest dogs when we dropped Charlie off and we left feeling confident that Charlie was in good hands. Charlie was much more relaxed than usual when we picked him up. We are so glad to have found Ashkan and will check with him first the next time we need to board Charlie.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
