“My dog had a blast with Kristy. If you want your dog to be tired out, she is the one to book. Very flexible and communicative. She sent many pictures of my dog while I was away. Will definitely book her again!”

“Panda had a great time staying at Brett's. I was relieved to see that Brett's place is very clean and comfy for Panda's 1 week stay. Brett responded promptly and was easy to work with.”

“We drop Caspian off with Benjamin all the time and he loves to go over and spend time at Benjamin’s house! I get wonderful pictures of them playing while we’re out of town and I would love to recommend him to anyone thinking about booking here!”

“Annie was amazing! My baby stayed with her while I was away for a work conference and Annie did a great job at keeping me updated and even sending me photos while I was away. Mowgli took to her very well and was comfortable immediately upon our arrival. If you didn’t know any better, you would have thought he was at home. My pup is very energetic and Annie made sure he got plenty of outside time and walks. She’s the best!”

“She was best sitter I had so far ,so many pictures and my baby is having so much fun I was kind jealous but happy he is having so much fun. My dog George love Hallie & Zachary I can tell. He look so relaxed in pictures. Thank you so much.”

“My husband and I both travel for work. Sometimes it's difficult to plan ahead for a dog sitter. Shame was AMAZING with working with our schedules and crazy hours. She even allowed us to extend our dogs' stay in story notice with no hesitation. The dogs were well taken care of and she kept in touch with us the entire time to let us know how they were doing. We will ONLY try to book with Shume from now on!”

“We have a 12 years old Pug that stayed with Tiffany and family. Our Pug never been away for long period of time with Tiffany taking of her she really became part of their family. The first day we met her our dog Tara felt at home. She keep us well informed of Tara Love comfort and health. We are grateful for having her . I highly recommend her.”
“Auburn was absolutely the best possible person we could have found to care for my mom's dog. She was kind, flexible, understanding, and totally amazing. My mom had to accompany her partner to an out of town medical facility, immediately after he received a surprise terminal diagnosis. She was very worried about her dog. Auburn picked Ginger up, took great care of her, sent regular pictures and updates, and dropped Ginger off after my mom got home, late at night. She was beyond accommodating and I would recommend her to anyone. If we ever have another need for service, we hope and pray Auburn will be available.”

“I can’t say enough about Heather her patience, her understanding, and ability to come through when I had no where else to turn for emergency boarding for Domino! Again, thank you!”

About: Hey everyone! My fiancée and I have years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and animals of all kinds. She worked as a pet store manager for five years and has been around animals her entire life. I also grew up with animals and have experience working on farms, caring for a variety of pets and livestock. Pet care is something we genuinely love doing. We believe every animal deserves kindness, respect, and loving care. Our goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. Together, we have a two-year-old German Shepherd named Rocky, whom we adopted. He loves everyone he meets and has brought so much joy, laughter, and love into our lives. Rocky is a big reason why we’re so passionate about caring for animals, and we treat every pet we care for like part of the family. We have experience caring for pets with a wide variety of needs, including administering medications, following specialized care routines, and providing extra attention when needed. We are comfortable caring for senior pets, disabled pets, and service animals, and we understand the importance of maintaining their routines, comfort, and well-being. We take the time to learn each pet’s individual needs to ensure they receive the best possible care while you’re away. We look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! 🐾❤️ I work Monday through Thursday, and my fiancée works part-time, typically from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM a few days each week. We are both home on weekends and love spending time outdoors with Rocky, whether it’s taking car rides, visiting the dog park, exploring local creeks, or simply enjoying time outside. We have a spacious, fully fenced backyard where pets can safely run, play, and explore. All pets stay indoors with us—no pets are left to sleep outside. We want every animal in our care to feel safe, comfortable, and part of the family. We understand that every pet has different needs and routines. We have a crate available for pets who are crate-trained or simply enjoy having their own cozy space. We also have two spare bedrooms available for pets who prefer a quieter environment or like to sleep on their own. For added safety and peace of mind, our home is equipped with pet cameras indoors and security cameras outside. This allows us to keep an eye on your furry family member at all times and ensure they are safe, comfortable, and receiving the attention they deserve. 🐾❤️
“Toya is AMAZING. Our baby loves spending time with Auntie Toya and is very comfortable (even for being a shelter dog). She has nervous tendencies but don’t come up when Auntie Toya is around… Toya spoils her and loves on her and I have no worries because I know she being spoiled while I’m away. Love knowing she’s in loving hands. Brings me such peace of mind while I’m away. 🫶🏼”
“Peyton was absolutely amazing! Gave check ins and was super responsive to all of my messages. I highly recommend her for anyone needing to board and I’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Return customer and very happy with the outstanding boarding Kristin provides to our two fur babies! Our pups are happy, healthy and exhausted from all the playtime they get when we pick them up. Highly recommended!!”

“The best sitter! Our old lady Sissy has stayed with Emily's family several times. She always comes home happy. I can tell she is well cared for as she is not anxious when she is picked up. I highly recommend Emily!”

About: I have had pets around for years as my great grandparents had a farm. Dogs are something that I truly enjoy spending time with and don’t mind walking and playing with your pet. I currently work a hybrid role where I am in between being in the office and working remotely from home. When I’m in the office I have the flexibility to come home and let the dogs out to play and use the restroom and continue working. I have a fenced in backyard and during the day I like to let the pets have free roam. At night or when I leave the house is the only time pers are crated to protect them from being curious and getting hurt.
“She was amazing in her service as my dog is a medical service dog. I was so happy to see that my girl was left in good hands and treated like a part of their family. Also, the sitter was extremely flexible with my travel, inconveniences and insured that my girl was taking care of the entire time. I can’t recommend her highly enough for her wonderful work and the fact that she is fantastic at sharing the daily activities While your animal is in her care so you can rest assured that they aren’t being just left in a kennel and not loved. I will be using her services moving forward as much as I can for my travel issues as I am very particular for where my dog goes and to be offered the country experience alongside the family love that her home offers is topped to your service for an affordable price.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
