“Jamie provided excellent care for our black lab, Zora. She sent lots of pictures and updates throughout her stay. At the last minute we took Zora to the vet and found she had an ear infection and Jamie agreed to still keep Zora for the week and administer her ear drops. Jamie made me feel very comfortable leaving my baby girl and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to make sure their fur baby is well taken care of. I will use her again.”

“Our pup almost knocked down their door when we dropped him off. Needless to say he remembers being treated well while there and it makes us happy. Thanks Meaghan and Johnny!”

About: We have raised and take care of all three of our dogs! We also pet sit my sister’s Golden Retriever sometimes! This includes feeding, walking, playing, exercising, bathing, etc. We have crate and potty trained all three of our personal pets. Our dogs sleep with us at night and are allowed on our furniture. Any dog we keep is treated like our own! My husband and I both work full time jobs, but my husband Brandon is a school teacher so he is home all summer. Your dogs are rarely ever crated… only if we have an errand to run. Our typical weekend is spent at the dog park, in the drive thru at Dunkin’ for pup cups, and lounging on the couch! My husband is home during the summer, and we have a fenced in backyard, so the dogs are let out to play and potty multiple times during the day. We feed our dogs twice a day- once in the morning & once at night, but let us know if you have a different schedule and we will keep your dog on it! We have three dogs of our own that sleep with us at night and are allowed on our furniture. Blu is three and loves to play with new friends! Ellie is four and would prefer to lay on her bed and chew her bone! Any dog we keep is treated like our own!
“My Mila Jean had a great time, especially getting lots of outside time to play, and was well taken care of. Annie is a kind and wonderful sitter with great accommodations for your fur baby’s stay!”

“My old girl was WELL taken care of during her time with this family. The pics made me happy and when she was returned to us she was calm. Always a good sign. Thank you!”

“Lorraine was PAWSitively awesome with our 9 month Bernedoodle Merlin! She went above and beyond and he had a blast playing with other puppies! She sent pics and videos of him while we were away on a cruise. She gave him a bath and took such great care of him and I could tell he was so happy when I picked him up because he had had a good time. I would highly recommend Lorraine for your dog boarding needs and we'll use her again next time I come to Huntsville!!”

“Toya is AMAZING. Our baby loves spending time with Auntie Toya and is very comfortable (even for being a shelter dog). She has nervous tendencies but don’t come up when Auntie Toya is around… Toya spoils her and loves on her and I have no worries because I know she being spoiled while I’m away. Love knowing she’s in loving hands. Brings me such peace of mind while I’m away. 🫶🏼”
“This was the 1st time we haves boarded our dogs. Needless to say, we were nervous. Shume did a great job taking care of them. We were so very pleased with the experience”

“Deborah was beyond phenomenal. I received multiple pictures and detailed updates every day my sweet Elle was away from home. I felt so relieved and there was no stress at all with Elle in her care. She is attentive to my dog and her dogs playing and is very consistent with commands when feeding and playing. She even brought the pups inside for rest breaks so they wouldn’t overheat. I will book every time I can with Deborah. 6 out of 5 stars.”

“She was best sitter I had so far ,so many pictures and my baby is having so much fun I was kind jealous but happy he is having so much fun. My dog George love Hallie & Zachary I can tell. He look so relaxed in pictures. Thank you so much.”

About: I have had pets around for years as my great grandparents had a farm. Dogs are something that I truly enjoy spending time with and don’t mind walking and playing with your pet. I currently work a hybrid role where I am in between being in the office and working remotely from home. When I’m in the office I have the flexibility to come home and let the dogs out to play and use the restroom and continue working. I have a fenced in backyard and during the day I like to let the pets have free roam. At night or when I leave the house is the only time pers are crated to protect them from being curious and getting hurt.
“Heather was wonderful with our girls. We have a reactive pup and she worked so well with her. It was so nice to be able to enjoy our trip without worrying. Would absolutely rebook with Heather. Glad we found her!!!”

“Peyton was absolutely amazing! Gave check ins and was super responsive to all of my messages. I highly recommend her for anyone needing to board and I’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

I’m home often and build pet care into my daily rhythm, allowing for frequent potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of attention so your dog feels comfortable and cared for. In my home, your dog becomes part of the family. I create a safe, cozy, and calm environment with plenty of attention, affection, and structure. I follow their routine closely and provide regular updates so you always feel connected and confident in their care.
“Hope was great with our baby! I was afraid Freckles would be difficult, because she can be a little grumpy with unfamiliar dogs. Hope was patient and introduced each dog one at a time. Freckles even made a friend with Dolly. I will definitely use her again and I highly recommend her. Her home was very clean and plenty of toys to play with.”

“Juyne did a wonderful job sitting with my fur babies! She sent texts & pictures so I always knew how they were doing. It was the first time I left them and I knew they were in good hands. She is so patient and kind. My "kids" loved staying with her!”

“Auburn was absolutely the best possible person we could have found to care for my mom's dog. She was kind, flexible, understanding, and totally amazing. My mom had to accompany her partner to an out of town medical facility, immediately after he received a surprise terminal diagnosis. She was very worried about her dog. Auburn picked Ginger up, took great care of her, sent regular pictures and updates, and dropped Ginger off after my mom got home, late at night. She was beyond accommodating and I would recommend her to anyone. If we ever have another need for service, we hope and pray Auburn will be available.”

“Benjamin was very helpful and treated our dog with specialized care. We will definitely book with him again. This is the first time our dog didn't want to leave a sitter's home. Benjamin you are amazing at what you do!!”

“150% recommend! My big baby had never been away from home so both myself and my pup were a little anxious. I received update pictures and she was happy as can be! We will definitely be booking again ❤️”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
