“Excellent. Very professional and caring. Both dogs adjusted to Melissa immediately. Constant updates with pictures and time spent with each pet. Highly recommended. Thanks. Mike”

“Ten was fantastic with my 2 fur babies who need to be fed 2x a day. Even my very shy cat came out to see her. Will absolutely be booking with REN again. Excellent visit notes as well.”

“Amy was awesome and our dogs loved her! She was polite, punctual, and was great with the dogs. She sent plenty of pictures which we loved. We felt she gave our dogs plenty of attention and will be using her from now on. Thanks!!”
“Ana Maria was great with dogs. My dog Mia has special needs with medicine and her insulin shot. She did great with giving her the insulin shot and took great care of both dogs. I loved the feedback and the photos with each visit.”

“Ashley did a great job taking care of our kitties. Very responsive. Very professional. She came at very short notice and got us taken care of when we had an emergency. We couldn't ask for any better! Thank you so much!”

About: I have been a Pet Sitter, for cats and dogs, and I have walked dogs for my family and friends for years now. Pet Care has become a passion of mine! I have no problem keeping up with high-need or active animals. I am good at keeping animals calm and non-destructive by keeping them entertained and making sure they get their proper exercise. I have helped train 2 dogs recently. I am also good with older pets who may need a bit extra help. I am a part time worker so I have lots! Of time to play around with your pets! I am available most weekdays for casual things while I am available weekends for boarding! I have a big fenced in backyard that your pet can run around in! I have a older male Sheepadoodle that can keep your pet company. And you will always have the choice to ask for them to be kept separate. I will clean your pet’s paws with baby wipes after they come in from outside so that they return to you squeaky clean! I am located in a house so space is not an issue for your pet, and I can provide toys!
“Connor was able to fit in a couple of last minute drop in visits for my two pups- one being a senior dog that needs daily medication. He also squeezed in a meet and greet beforehand to assure they would be familiar with him. He was on time for both visits, took pictures of both pups, and left notes about how the visits went. He even brought in a package from the porch! We will definitely use Connor again when we have a need for a pet sitter. He was fantastic!”

“Olivia was an amazing sitter! She took such great care (and pictures) of Matilda. We loved seeing her updates and were never worried about our fur baby while we were away. Olivia is a rockstar!”

“Jennifer was excellent with my babies. Even in the cold single digit weather she came to the house twice for feedings and exercise for my three dogs and my daughters two visiting dogs. Because a short black out tripped the water flow off she had to find the valve in the garage and turn it on. The doggies all seemed to have had a good time as that they were not stressed when we arrived home that evening. I'm looking forward to more dog/house sitting in the future.”

“Austin was great at the meet and greet. He took notes and ask good questions. He has performed several drop ins and is learning how to work with my dogs. They can be difficult because they are afraid of new people but he is patient with them. We really appreciate his time and effort.”

“I’m so grateful for the care Kanese gave my dog while we were away for a week. She was reliable, communicative, and clearly cared about my pup’s well being. I loved getting photo updates and could tell my dog was happy, comfortable, and well taken care of. It gave me real peace of mind knowing she was in such good hands. Highly recommend!”

About: I have been trusted to take care of my family and friends’ pets since I have had my own car. Now that I’m old enough I want to start looking after other people’s pets more because they say do what you love. I can’t have any dogs in my own household so I want to take care of other people’s babies the best that I can. I’ve taken off work this summer so aside from picking up some shifts here and there I’m free to love on some pets! I have a couple vacations planned, but I’ll just sit around those. I follow specific instructions and say with the pets as long as my schedule allows. I love to send pictures of the pets for their owners because I know how much I would miss my baby. I make sure I have eyes on the pets before I leave so I don’t close them in a room and notify parents of any weird behavior.
“Madison is extraordinary and we feel so lucky to have connected with her. The services and care she provided in our absence went above and beyond our expectations. She not only executed the agreed to basics for our two pups (one 50# special needs (IVDD/back leg partial paralysis) lovebug, the other a 60# goof that can just plain be a jerk) but also made sure to give them extra outside play / loved on them during her drop in visits. Additionally ensuring they were watered up, comfortable and cleaned up before leaving. Madison made sure in the daily report outs to give details to ensure we were kept informed and noted anything unusual. This is the first time I have been away in almost a year and Madison absolutely allowed me to have piece of mind that my pups were in excellent hands and that they were being cared as I would ... not an easy thing to do! She knocked it out of the park and will be my first choice any time the need arises. Very highly recommend to any and all.”

“Once again, Amy took excellent care of my dog-child. She met all requested times (early, midday, and late evening), and she gave wonderful updates while I was away. I’ll definitely rebook with Amy!”

“Kaitlyn did a wonderful job with our cat O'Malley! We loved the pictures she sent us of him, and it eased our minds so much to know he was well taken care of. We'll definitely be asking her to sit for him again soon.”

“Zuko, Moose and I cannot express our sincere gratitude to have Beverly as our pet sitter when I have been out of state traveling for work. She has cared for Zuko and Moose during my several recent trips and I cannot express how thankful I am to have her caring for both of them all the while knowing she will ensure they are being well taken care of. Her ability to accommodate and work around my work travel has made my trips so much easier. We are so lucky to have Beverly as our sitter!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Harvest. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 94% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
