The Happy Place for Dogs

Easy-going family LOVES dogs and would love to give your dear dog a happy place to stay while you're away. We only take one booking at a time! We have a large fenced-in yard and live in a dog-friendly neighborhood. Dog care is our passion, and we look forward to playing with and snuggling with your pet. We do request that your dog be easy-going, house-trained, and good with children. We will accommodate your requests; quirky dogs are loved here! We welcome your dog into our home and give him or her the run of the house and yard. We can't accommodate dogs that are fearful or aggressive. We have a lot of repeat customers and we require a meet and greet before we can book your dog's stay. For this reason, please contact us as soon as possible, and confirm your stay as soon as you can. We only take dogs from one family at a time and we tend to continually have guests—which we love and is great!—so don't hesitate to get in touch. Why I love dog sitting I was attacked by a pack of wild dogs at the age of 4, when my family was living in Central America. I retained an unreasonable fear of dogs my entire life—until my children insisted upon getting a dog. I then read every book I could get my hands on. Surprisingly, Jean Craighead George's "Julie of the Wolves" was the most helpful, as I realized that it's possible to "read" dogs and understand them from their body language. And the Monks of New Skeet's classic, "The Art of Raising a Puppy," was invaluable. Using their puppy test, we chose an extremely agreeable puppy who was nothing but a joy to us. Although I was at first afraid to be left alone with her, I chose to do all her grooming and all her training. And now, I am delighted to say that I am on the far other side of the spectrum: I am crazy about dogs, all dogs, and I am the most happy when I am around dogs. I am a calm, confident person and dogs love me. Meet my pets Our dog, Fleurie, is a rescue. She's a small bundle who brings a lot of joy into our lives. She is friendly after she gets to know people. About my yard We have a large, fenced back yard. My experience administering medication Orally, yes. We are home almost all the time. We will follow your directions on what your dog prefers. We are attentive, detail-oriented, and safety-minded. We have a fenced yard and screened porches, which add an extra layer of protection for dog safety. We love the company of dogs and will be with your dog in the house.

Stephanie was amazing! I was very VERY nervous to leave Lando with a sitter. We are very attached and this was the first time I’d be leaving him with a stranger. Stephanie did a meet greet with me before and made me feel so comfortable. She sent photos and videos and constant updates of Lando. It’s like, I’d be thinking about Lando and then check my phone and see a new message about him. It was absolutely wonderful. Stephanie helped ease my nerves and made me feel so comfortable. Highly recommend and will be happy to work with her again when I need a sitter.

Stephanie completely ignored our care instructions. When we dropped him off she would not let us leave his toys, water or food bowl, or his harness & leash. She would only allow us to leave his bed. We did have some concerns about not allowing him any of his items but decided to give her a chance considering her past reviews. Ollie was not supposed to be left alone yet he was left alone 3 times that we can confirm for an extended period of time. She canceled our booking early so we immediately went to pick him up. She was not home, but Ollie was there alone again. We had to wait an additional 2 hours for her to arrive back home to pick him up & when doing so Stephanie had put Ollie outside on her porch, in a crate, alone with his food on top. We never talked to her in person to discuss any issues. We’ve used Rover on multiple occasions & have never had any issues with past sitters, due to the experience we had with Stephanie we do not recommend her to anyone.

Stephanie was great about sending updates while she watched Violet, including photos and videos. Would definitely recommend and she will be on our regular list if we need to leave our girl again.
