“Danielle took excellent care of my boy Steven while I was away. And even though I had to ask for an extension of his stay she was accommodating and welcoming. And maintained excellent communication throughout the two weeks of boarding for him. I’ll definitely be booking with her more frequently. I know Steven enjoyed his stay and even made some friends along the way. 10/10 will return!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats for friends and family, including overnight stays, daytime drop-offs, and extended stays. I’m usually the first person people ask for a sitter given that I work remotely! I’ve had pets, both dogs and cats, all my life. I absolutely love animals and treat any as my own. I’m caring, patient, and will definitely give your babies all my love!! I work remotely, so I’m home throughout the day and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care. I can easily work regular potty breaks, meals, playtime, walks, and cuddles into my day. Given this, I have full availability all week! I have a 1,500 sq. ft. apartment, so there is plenty of room for your furbaby to comfortably roam and play! I share the apartment with my partner, Liam, who is a huge animal lover and very friendly with pets! I’ll always be the primary and sole caregiver for your pet, but he’ll be around the apartment here and there during their stay to give some extra love. :) My community also has an on-site dog park, multiple grassy areas, and paved walking trails, giving us lots of options for potty breaks, walks, and playtime. 🐾 In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow their instructions and their pet’s normal routine closely. Regardless of where I’m caring for your pet, I make sure doors and gates are secure, pets are appropriately supervised, and they have plenty of opportunities for potty breaks, play, and rest. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos throughout your pet’s stay so you always know your furbaby is safe, happy, and doing well! ❤️
“Ben and his parents did a wonderful job watching our 4lb Chihuahua puppy for one night. She’s very shy of strangers, but his mom was able to get her comfortable enough to hold her (she likes women more than men). With some more time I’m sure she’ll absolutely love them.”

“Very good experience! Kim was very informative and kept Oscar engaged. She gave him plenty of love, care, and exercise throughout his stay with her. She gave me lots of photos and videos to keep me updated. 10/10 would recommend!”

“My Mila Jean had a great time, especially getting lots of outside time to play, and was well taken care of. Annie is a kind and wonderful sitter with great accommodations for your fur baby’s stay!”

About: I have years of experience caring for pets of all ages, offering patient handling, reliable routines, and a calm presence. I’m attentive to each pet’s needs and committed to creating a safe, loving environme I work full time on the arsenal. I also work part time but mostly use rover as my part time. I can work around each client schedules and will make the time to care for your pets I don’t care for pets in my home because I have a reactive yorkie. But in my clients home I take care of them well and make them feel like their owner isn’t even gone
“Peyton was absolutely amazing! Gave check ins and was super responsive to all of my messages. I highly recommend her for anyone needing to board and I’ll definitely be booking with her again in the future!”

“Kristy was amazing! This was our first time using her but will definitely rebook with her when needed! I ended up running late on our drop off time & she was so understanding & accommodating. She sent me lots of pictures & videos, Ollie had a great time staying with them!”

About: I’m caring for a five year old Siberian Husky with my wife. I’m good at handling strong pulling breeds and I love spending time in play and taking pictures of them! I’m currently working a job on Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri with flexibility. I’m usually open for weekend boards and Wednesday drop ins. Hope to open my schedule to more of this work in the future. I have a spacious 2 bed. Your dog can be separated from mine and/or crated. We have access to a large community double sided dog park.
“Our boys became an extension to Sean and Dianna from the start. They loved playing in the pool and making new friends so much that I don’t think they missed us at all! And I wouldn’t want it any other way!!! We were provided updates of their happenings throughout the day by pictures, videos, and messages. It was so comforting to have absolute peace of mind that my pups were happy. I will 100% be booking with them again.”

“Jamie did so great with my girl! She was so accommodating and shared several pictures while I was gone. I could tell my Charley girl had the best time with her and was well taken care of :)”

“Hailie has boarded our dog Cooper several times and has been very attentive and personable to work with. It's more like a close friend watching our dog rather than "boarding" him. He gets excited to go to her house and she has been flexible and understanding with unpredictable booking conflicts. We will continue to call on Hailie for our Cooper's "babysitting" needs😁”

About: As a dog mom myself I know it’s nerve wracking having to leave your fur baby in someone else’s care.. That’s why I make it priority to give every pet parent the same peace of mind I’d want for my own dogs. When your fur-baby is with me, they’re treated like one of my own. I know no two pets are alike, so I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and preferences. So whether they love to play, need extra enrichment, enjoy quiet companionship, or do better with structure, I’ll make sure they receive the individualized care they’re used to at home so they feel comfortable! I also love keeping pet parents involved, so you can expect lots of photos, videos, and updates throughout their stay or visit! Pet care is already a part of my everyday life. Outside of caring for client pets, you’ll usually find me spending time with my own dogs, going on walks and hikes, working on training, and socializing. Caring for animals isn’t just my job, it’s something I genuinely enjoy every single day. All pup’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. My home is fully fenced for safe outdoor play, and dogs enjoy plenty of supervised playtime, enrichment activities, toys, and opportunities to relax throughout the day. Every dog is different, so I do my best to match their energy level and personality, whether they love to play with friends or prefer a little 1-on-1 attention. To keep everyone safe and comfortable, meals and treats are enjoyed separately, followed by a quiet rest break in their own cozy crate. I use crates as a positive, comfortable space to relax after meals as downtime which helps support healthy digestion before everyone is back to playing and exploring together.
“My old girl was WELL taken care of during her time with this family. The pics made me happy and when she was returned to us she was calm. Always a good sign. Thank you!”

“Ashley and Jason gave Krunky a great experience. He was exhausted and I believe he wanted to stay longer. I will see definitely let them keep him again soon! Thank you for helping me at the last minute!”

James & Emily were great with our Honey Jo! They sent us pictures, had great communication, and walked Honey during her stay with them. We were traveling by plane so our trip timing was up in the air, but James & Emily were flexible with our drop off & pick up times. Would love to use them again!

I felt so relieved to find sweet Jessica and Jeffery. They cared for my baby like she was there own and she had a blast with their puppy Joey!! I felt so much better on my vacation knowing my baby was with people who cared so much for her. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!

Highly recommend Autumn and Paul! They have taken care of our pups a couple times now and have done an exceptional job. Our pups were well loved, given great care and attention and were so happy when we picked them up. So glad we have found this sweet family to care for our dogs when we are away.

Diane took Fantastic care of Winston for a week. It was so very nice to go on vacation and not worry about him. She genuinely cares and enjoys dogs, was super easy to work with, has a great yard, sent us pictures and updates. Winston was very well cared for and had a good time with her and Jackie. Thank you so very much Diane!!!!

Eden was wonderful with Scout. She took wonderful care of her and gave her lots of attention. She sent us pictures of Scout and a video as well as giving an update. She is knowledgeable about dogs and loves them very much. So thankful to have found her to watch Scout. She was very professional and focused on pleasing us as the client.

This was Jack’s first time staying with Elizabeth, and it couldn’t have gone better! He had a fantastic time playing with Murphy and came home happy and tired. Elizabeth sent photos and quick updates throughout his stay, which made us feel completely at ease. Jack even came home with a new favorite toy! We’re so grateful to have found Elizabeth and will definitely be booking with her again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
