“Angelica is the one you need. She was wonderful with my four fur babies! She has a peaceful and calm energy that everyone appreciates. She communicates very well, is prompt, thorough, and above all genuinely cares. I felt completely comfortable leaving my house and babies in her care. I will be booking with her in the future! I can't recommend her enough 🫡🙂😇”

“This is the first time I've ever needed to hire a pet sitter for my senior cat, so I was very nervous about having a stranger in my home and how my fur baby would react. However, Jennifer eased my mind about the whole process. She was understanding and communicative, which was greatly appreciated. This was just an an overnight trip, but she will be taking care of him again soon when I'll be gone longer. It's such a relief to know I can get some R&R knowing that my pet and my home are in good hands. ?”

“Meghan was great! We loved getting the pictures and updates on our doggos throughout the week. She was super communicative and we could tell that our dogs both loved her. Would have her back anytime!”

“Danielle was absolutely wonderful! From the moment she arrived we received updates on our 2 pups. She sent photos and let us know when they had eaten, done their business, gone for walks, etc. She handled our senior dogs medication flawlessly, and their special feeding instructions were carried out perfectly. Both our dogs truly enjoyed their time with her, she was a blessing to our family while we were away. 10/10 would recommend Danielle, and will use her again in the future.”

“I would recommend Madison to anyone! She is amazing - super communicative, great care for our two dogs, also nice to have in our home. She went above and beyond for our dog that was on medicine and had to wear a cone during her stay.”

“Ashley was absolutely amazing with our dog. Patient, loving and active with Pips it went wonderful. Highly communicative, frequent pictures and she took Pip out multiple times during the day. Highly trustworthy and we can’t wait to have her again in August. Pips is thankful for you, in her own little ways!”

“Aunya was fantastic. She made sure all four dogs were well taken care and even cleaned up as she left the house. She was very responsive and provided check-ins. I would definitely let her take care of my wild pack any time!”

“Shyanne is phenomenal! My cats felt at ease with her immediately, as did I. She listened to my detailed instructions and followed them well. She checked in with me several times to assure me the cats were doing well. The house was tidy upon my return. She is friendly, trustworthy, and helpful. We will definitely book with her again.”

I work remotely, so I have the flexibility to be present and give your pets the care and attention they need. I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats since I was a baby, so I’m a huge animal lover and treat every pet like my own. 🤍 I’m caring, patient, and will absolutely make sure your furbabies get plenty of love and attention! I work remotely, so I’m home throughout the day and have a flexible schedule that allows me to give pets plenty of attention and care. I can easily work regular potty breaks, meals, playtime, walks, and cuddles into my day. Given this, I have full availability all week! I have a 1,500 sq. ft. apartment, so there is plenty of room for your furbaby to comfortably roam and play! I share the apartment with my partner, Liam, who is a huge animal lover and very friendly with pets! I’ll always be the primary and sole caregiver for your pet, but he’ll be around the apartment here and there during their stay to give some extra love. :) My community also has an on-site dog park, multiple grassy areas, and paved walking trails, giving us lots of options for potty breaks, walks, and playtime. 🐾 In a client’s home, I’m respectful of their space and follow their instructions and their pet’s normal routine closely. Regardless of where I’m caring for your pet, I make sure doors and gates are secure, pets are appropriately supervised, and they have plenty of opportunities for potty breaks, play, and rest. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos throughout your pet’s stay so you always know your furbaby is safe, happy, and doing well! ❤️
“Colleen was amazing. Onyx loved her and seemed almost upset when I came home since he enjoyed his time with her. He did great with her and keeping him at home while I went away did him good because he was able to keep his normal routine. 10/10 would recommend her and will for sure use her again!”
“Austin is reliable, caring, and trustworthy. Always dependable, sends daily updates, and is always a pleasure. It gives me such peace of mind to know my pups are so well cared for in my absence.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Madison
Angelica was by far the BEST housesitter we have ever had! She followed the instructions left exactly, maintained the schedule, gave the cats and dogs their meds, and gave us regular updates so we knew exactly what was happening and when. And she was very flexible with our schedule.

Cynthia was fantastic with my three dogs, especially one that experiences anxiety with strangers. They warmed up to her quickly and she sent regular updates and photos which helped ease my mind leaving my pups in the care of someone new. Cynthia treated my pups like they were her own!

Kiley was AMAZING!!! We are VERY picky about the care of our 4-legged family members & who we trust in our home. It's so hard to find a trustworthy sitter. Kiley went above & beyond in both her communication & care for our babies! We were able to relax & never worried while Kiley was in charge. She left our home clean & even washed her linens & vacuumed before leaving. We will DEFINITELY be calling on her again! Thanks Kiley!!!
Tracy was an awesome pet sitter. I have two cats that are not people friendly, but she came over everyday to check on them and make sure that they were taken care of. I was out of town and worried about getting a flight back home due to the government shutdown. She told me not to worry, that she would continue to take care of my cats until I was able to make it back home. I highly recommend Tracy!!
Shyanne was absolutely incredible! From the moment I met her, I knew my pups were in great hands. She followed every instruction perfectly, sent consistent photo updates, and treated my dogs like her own. I came home to two happy, calm, and well-cared-for pups and a spotless home. She went above and beyond in every way — it’s rare to find someone so reliable, trustworthy, and genuinely caring. I’d give her 10 stars if I could!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Madison walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Madison maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Madison choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
