About: I have been caring for my pets as well as the pets of friends and family for over 30 years. In addition, I have volunteered at an animal shelter for five years. I am very compassionate and experienced with young pets through seniors - both dogs and cats. I am also experienced with differently abled pets (aka disabled) as we had a partially paralyzed dog ourselves. I am comfortable with administering oral and subcutaneous medication as needed. I pride myself on attention to detail. I am currently a stay-at-home wife, and mom of a teenager, as well as one in the military, so my schedule is VERY flexible. I can help you out, morning, day, or night as well as during the week or on the weekends. I will care for your pets with love and compassion just as I do my own while following your directions and expectations. I am comfortable with crating pets as well as free-roam pets.
“Angelica is the one you need. She was wonderful with my four fur babies! She has a peaceful and calm energy that everyone appreciates. She communicates very well, is prompt, thorough, and above all genuinely cares. I felt completely comfortable leaving my house and babies in her care. I will be booking with her in the future! I can't recommend her enough 🫡🙂😇”

“Alyce took good care of my 2 poodles. She gave them their meds and kept the cone on one of my poodles due to a broken nail. She keep clean throws on couch and sent photos and updates daily. I will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Allison is awesome! This was our first time using Rover, and from start to finish, it was a great experience, in no small part, due to her patience and kindness. She is very responsive, and communicated early and often - before, during and after her stay. She was wonderful with our two pups, and they were happy and content when we got home from our trip. Highly recommend!”

“Ella was fantastic with our dog, Zero. He can be pretty anxious, but she handled him with great care. She also kept us updated with several photos, which gave us a lot of peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Highly recommend her!”

“Savannah is absolutely fantastic! My 4 month old Schnauzer “Cosmosis” is an extrovert and loves everyone, but he ABSOLUTELY adored Savannah. She is a genuine good soul - and he LOVED her to pieces. I have never seen him act that way so quickly before. We will absolutely use her again. Very trustworthy.”

About: Hi! I’m Emma! Dogs have been a huge part of my life since I was 4 years old. I grew up with a German Shepherd mix and a Pit Bull mix, so I have experience with big and small, high-energy dogs and understand the attention and exercise they need. I also have experience caring for senior dogs, and they have a special place in my heart. Whether your pup is young and playful or older and prefers a slower pace, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, loved, and well cared for. I genuinely love being around dogs and would be thrilled to spend time with yours! I’m a full time touring musician, but I have multiple months in the year where I’m at home and don’t have much to do. I’m almost always available on weekdays, and sometimes weekends. I’m also usually available anytime between 8am-8pm I know how important it is to trust someone with both your pet and your home. ☺️ I carefully follow each pet’s routine, make sure they get plenty of attention and exercise, and always prioritize their safety and comfort. I keep a clean environment, doublecheck doors and gates, and communicate regularly with owners through updates and photos. My goal is to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible while giving you peace of mind while you’re away! 🐾
“Maria took excellent care of my babies and house. She provided daily updates with pictures. My house was left in perfect condition. I would definitely recommend her and will be using her for future visits.”

“Malia has been fantastic with our nervous shepherd, Selkie. I am very cautious about who I leave her with and Malia handled her fabulously, made sure she had the best time and keep us updated with photos the whole time we were away. It was super reassuring and so happy she could take care of her both times we have been away. Highly recommend and will 100% be calling upon her to pet sit for us in the future!”

About: I've been around animals all my life and have considerable experience working with senior dogs and cats. I treat others' pets as if they are my own. I'm currently self-employed, so I have plenty of time to care for your pets. I'm available pretty much any day of the week, especially for dog-walking and drop-in visits. I will happily walk your dog around the neighborhood and play with them outside. Regarding cat care, I will refill their food/water, clean their litter box, and play with them. I am willing to learn from you as their owner and will follow any instructions given.
“Josue was amazing with our Malamute during a 2 week trip! Malamutes can be a difficult breed but our pup took to Josue immediately. Josue took great care of our dog and house while we were gone, and we will happily work with him again for any future travel!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals my whole life. From having turtles, cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, and fish over the years I’ve learned so much about so many different animals! every animal is different just like humans so i strive to make sure they are comfortable with me and trust me how i am with them ! Many friends and family have asked me to watch or take care of their 4 legged babies, so i hope to keep doing it with yalls ! i’m currently working part-time, so that leaves me free from 1pm to anytime. My off days are Wednesday and Fridays, they don’t change! I’m willing to walk, sit, let them out to potty, just run to go check on them, and if they need some extra loving i’m there! Of course if you need anything else i’m here and very flexible! I live in an apartment, so i wouldn’t accept nightly stays at my place, but i’m more than capable over staying at yours ! i know most of the time animals feel more comfortable and safe in their own homes ! I do have a 80 pound dog who i take out 5-6 times a day when i get home, i take him out to the dog area and play with him for hours so he can get some sunshine on him, he’s crate and potty trained, and he LOVES to be cuddled up on anyone !

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Normal walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Normal maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Normal choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
