“Kai took great care of our pups while we were away. They both warmed to her quickly and they got along great. They were regularly fed, taken outside, and played with. We received pictures each day as well. Kai was accessible by both text and voice when we did our daily check-in.”

“Aunya watched my dog for me while I was out of town. My dog is an anxious rescue, and Aunya did so well with her! I’m glad I could have someone trustworthy and reliable to care for my fur baby.”

“This was our third time booking someone through Rover and the first time I can say that I will absolutely rebook this sitter again. We have way more than only two dogs. There are horses, donkeys, cows, chickens, turkeys and two cats. Leaving home is never easy because it is so hard these days finding someone who I can trust to take care of them the way I do. I try to keep things natural and that means more work is involved. Ashlyn met my expectations and kept me posted on how things were going at home, which is so important to me. She was honest and even though we had a misunderstanding, I loved her way of thinking and working through issues that came up. I really don’t want to praise her too much because I like to keep her for myself ??. She is a wonderful young lady to work with who tries hard to meet her customers expectations. Rare find! Thank you, Ashlyn! May God bless and keep you.”

“Alyce took good care of my 2 poodles. She gave them their meds and kept the cone on one of my poodles due to a broken nail. She keep clean throws on couch and sent photos and updates daily. I will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Malia has been fantastic with our nervous shepherd, Selkie. I am very cautious about who I leave her with and Malia handled her fabulously, made sure she had the best time and keep us updated with photos the whole time we were away. It was super reassuring and so happy she could take care of her both times we have been away. Highly recommend and will 100% be calling upon her to pet sit for us in the future!”

“Sarah B. is simply AMAZING, Awesome, Extraordinary! Our four-year old poodle, Braxton has never been kenneled or left alone while we were away even a few days at a time. We recently traveled for over a week, and all of our extended family support was going with us! So, we contacted Sarah through Rover and all of our anxiety and concern evaporated at our first meet. Braxton climbed in her arms and cuddled like meeting an old friend. We were immediately set at ease and comfortable that we could turn our house and fur baby over for her protection. She is organized, smart, and most importantly, caring and comforting to dog and human alike. She kept us posted with lots of photos of walks, naps, play time with the hose, and cuddling on the couch. Communication from Europe was seamless, and every time we checked in, she was there to make us rest easy. We feel like we added a new member to our extended family, and you can be sure that we will hire her ANYTIME we need to leave home - even if only for a day. She could easily double her daily fee and would still be under paid for the value she brings. Peace of mind for your loved one while away is worth more than money! THANK YOU, SARAH - We love you wholeheartedly!”

“Bobby did a great job watching our two dogs! He was a great communicator, very responsible, and sent updates and pictures of the pups every time he came to let them out or feed them. He was great with our large dogs, and you can tell the dogs loved him too! We have never felt so comfortable leaving the dogs with anyone- Knowing Bobby was taking such great care of them made us feel so at ease when we were away. We are so glad we found Bobby, and will definitely be using him whenever we need a dog sitter in the future. Highly recommend!!”

“Great dog dog sitter. When I returned from my trip I found she left my home tidy and my dog was healthy, happy and clearly card for. I really enjoyed the pics and vids she sent and would hire her again!”

About: My grandmother lives out of town, she has multiple dogs multiple cats, has owned horses, and keeps chickens and i have house sat for her before for well over a week. I’m great with animals and can fit into any schedule she needs, therefore I’m always the one to house sit while she is away. Not because I’m family but because I have the experience and ability. Monday-Thursday I’m completely free. I like to keep my weekends free but if I am wanted/needed arrangements can be made. I prefer to walk in the morning because it allows me to feel energized throughout the day. If there is a specific way I will follow the owners instructions, if left none, I will simply treat the pets how I would want me pets treated because I love my fur babies.

“Nolan was wonderful! She made sure my dogs had exercise before the heat set in and was truthworthy with access to the home without someone being there. Truly appreciate her and will hire her again!”

“Elizabeth is The Best. I have never felt so comfortable leaving my beloved pets in a stranger’s care. And I was very impressed by her initiative and intuition from our first encounter and she did not disappoint in caring for my geriatric & needy dog and my spoiled cat. And she left our home in pristine condition.”

“Angelica was great with our pups and our home. Excellent messages/updates/pictures. Walks were good exercise, not just a quick walk for them to pee. We’re looking forward to having her back.”

“Reagan was the best! She is a good communicator, left the house the way she found it and my dog was very happy when we arrived. She also stayed a bit later because our flight was delayed so we didn’t have to worry about our dog being taken care of. I highly recommend Reagan!”

“Our dogs and our family loved Bethany. She put all our fears at ease, as we have never used a dog sitting service before. Scheduled a meet and greet before hand and was able to see personally that our dogs loved her as well as photos during her stay and updates. Our babies have a new best friend when Mom and Dad can’t be home. ❤️”

“Only good things to say about Josue. We normally have friends or family watch our dog, Maddie, so we were a little apprehensive using a pet sitting service. But once Maddie met him we knew everything would be fine. She gave him boyfriend eyes the whole time. While we were away Josue was easy to get in touch with, he was reliable, took out the trash, walked her on schedule, kept the house clean. So happy we found him, I think our days of asking favors from friends are over!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 351 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Brownsboro. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Brownsboro walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Brownsboro maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Brownsboro choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Brownsboro. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
