“Ms. Shume was great with Frank, and very considerate. My flight was cancelled on my way coming home and she assured it was no problem to keep Frank overnight as I figured my flight situation out. I was super thankful for her service, thank you again!”

“Colleen is great. Quick to respond to messages, very flexible with schedule and kept us updated on our dog when we were away. Our pup is still young and super energetic, but he always comes back home tired. He loves playing with Jax! Would definitely recommend Colleen to anyone.”

“I can not recommend Kira enough! She went above and beyond my expectations to provide my sweet Ollie a safe and comfortable place to stay when my husband and I had to go out of town. Ollie loved Kira and we will definitely be coming back to her for future stays.”
“This was our 1st booking with this precious family. They were amazing and cared for our “Ollie” as their own. I received updates with pictures everyday. He loved playing with their sweet dog George and quickly made himself at home. He especially loved snuggles with the children who were so sweet with him. I wish I could leave more than a 5 star review. We can now plan more trips with comfort knowing Ollie will be loved and cared for while we are away.”

“They were super nice and gave us updates anytime we wanted about the well being of our baby. Would highly recommend them to take care of your fur baby while you are on vacation.”

“Allison was great with Ruby. She sent frequent picture updates during the stay, which really helped give me peace of mind, and her communication was extremely fast and responsive throughout the entire process. Ruby seemed very well cared for and happy. I would definitely recommend Allison to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter.”

“My Piper had a great time with Diane and her fur babies. She has an overall very pet-friendly house/backyard/neighborhood. She treated my fur baby just like her own, and we’ll definitely come back to her in the future.”
About: I have over 20 years of experience caring for dogs. Boarding facilities or drop-in care can’t give your spoiled baby the attention they deserve. I offer safe and loving care for your dog in my home. I am happy to accommodate a single dog at a time in my home. I work, so your dog needs to be able to be alone for up to 8 hours. Your dog will be cared for on a regular work week schedule along with my own dog in my home. I have a fenced yard and a 10 year old very calm and sweet lab/golden retriever mix. Your dog must be able to co-exist with her in order to board. I do require a meet-and-greet with your dog prior to accepting a booking. Your dog must be able to crated or left alone in the house for up to 8 hours per day without separation anxiety or destructive behavior.

I am a stay at home mom so I have full availability with my son. On weekends I have better availability with just me as my husband can watch the baby. My home has a huge unfenced yard. I can take ur babies out and let them run (as long as they have a good recall). we also have alot of walking trails as well!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Owens Cross Roads
Davida was amazing!! ☺️ She is super sweet & put us to ease quickly. Upon meeting Davida, she was very welcoming & had a calm & loving sense about her. ☺️ She sent pictures & videos during our pups stay & kept us update on how they were doing. 💜 Our Goldendoodle is a little shy around new people & she adjusted really well with Davida. ☺️ We could tell they were so well cared for & loved on. We will absolutely use Davida again!! ☺️

Chad and Adrienne took wonderful care of Ravioli! We were a little nervous about needing a Rover since Ravioli recently injured his leg and is taking meds, but they monitored him closely and kept us reassured. They sent daily updates with photos, and we picked up a very happy dog! I wholeheartedly recommend them as hosts, and I’d be happy to send our pup there again in the future!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
