“Haley was so accommodating to our dog. She sent frequent updates with pictures and videos. It was our dogs first time getting boarded so I was a little nervous , but my anxiety went away with Haley.”

About: I’m an animal person through and through. I’ve been around dogs since I was a little boy at the age of 5. I’ve taken care of family, neighbor, and even stray pets/animals and take pride in my ability to get on the good side of any creature. Firm believer that there is no such thing in a bad dog, only misunderstood ones. I have one dog (the handsome black lab), but sometimes have my mother in law’s two dogs over. They’re all well behaved and sociable. I work from home and typically have a lot of spare time in my day to take care of pets. I make sure to take my dog to the park everyday and see to it that he gets proper exercise and will be sure to make sure your dogs get the same. I don’t go anywhere most weekends so I’m available for boarding and anything else more or less all the time. I live in a 4 bedroom house with a big yard and sunroom so plenty of space for play. I have several parks located within ten minutes of me and walking trails nearby too so your pup will never be bored.
“Lindsey’s and John’s care for our little Corgi, Toby, was five star all the way! Lindsey, John and their three amazing children are a beautiful family that bubble over with love, warmth and enthusiasm. When I first arrived with Toby, I was a bit tentative, as I’d never left him in a private home with strangers. But the minute Lindsey and two of her children stepped out to greet us, I knew he’d be in great hands! Lindsey was so welcoming yet also calm and confident in the way she allowed Toby to greet them first. She then allowed Toby to explore their beautiful home while I provided instruction for his care. Then, out he went to their backyard, a beautiful and well maintained lush green paradise, the perfect place for dogs to run and play! But the best was yet to come. They, too, have a Corgi, George, and both George and Toby played well together. Each day I received great pics and videos along with a brief text about Toby’s day. If I had any questions, they responded immediately. Lindsey and John truly provided a home away from home for Toby that was unparalleled to anything I have experienced, and I can’t thank them enough! I am so glad to have found them and will definitely be calling them again next time we leave for a vacation!”

“My dog loves staying with Brett. I get updates daily along with pictures and I know my Louie is well taken care of. We have book with Brett on multiple occasions and always have a great experience. Thank you so much for the excellent care!”

“Makaylah was absolutely amazing. She allowed Blu time to warm up and feel comfortable. I really hate to leave Blu with a sitter or kennel, however I was able to leave Blu with confidence of him being well taken care of. I will definitely rebook with Makaylah!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our dog received! From the moment we met, it was clear how much love and experience they have with animals. They were incredibly reliable, communicative, and truly treated our pup like part of their own family. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind while we were away. Our dog came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate sitter!”

“Such a great experience with Fortune and her family caring for our dog. They almost spoiled him with the care and attention they provided. Could not ask for better a better stay and can highly recommend Fortune to all.”

“We had Melanie keep our little man for the first time while we were out of town for 7 days. She sent us several pictures every day with an update on his wellbeing. The peace of mind we had while away was immeasurable and we cannot thank Melanie enough for taking wonderful care of our sweet baby! 🐾 Thank you again! 🩷🐾”

“Allison was great with Ruby. She sent frequent picture updates during the stay, which really helped give me peace of mind, and her communication was extremely fast and responsive throughout the entire process. Ruby seemed very well cared for and happy. I would definitely recommend Allison to anyone looking for a reliable and attentive sitter.”

“We love Colleen! You can tell she and her family genuinely love animals and see pets as part of family. She sends daily updates and photos without even asking which is such a comfort when you are away and miss your fur babies. I can see from the photos that my dog has great fun staying with them, she is allowed to snuggle with them on the couch when they watch TV which is something we do at home as well, I believe that is also a comfort to the dog. Their family dog Jax is such a sweet dog, he gets along with my dog perfectly! My dog always come home happy:) I highly recommend trusting Colleen with your pets!”

About: I’ve always had at least 3 pets my entire life. I have been a reliable pet sitter numerous times for family and friends. I bathe, groom and give my pups nail trims. I am able to do overnight stays Monday - Saturday. I am available for dog walking Wednesday - Saturday. I am also flexible if preplanned! I have two cats that have been around dogs their whole life. I am able to do whatever is needed for any pet. I have a large crate to offer and a big walkable back yard/neighborhood

“Chad and Adrienne took wonderful care of Ravioli! We were a little nervous about needing a Rover since Ravioli recently injured his leg and is taking meds, but they monitored him closely and kept us reassured. They sent daily updates with photos, and we picked up a very happy dog! I wholeheartedly recommend them as hosts, and I’d be happy to send our pup there again in the future!”

“Danielle was an absolute lifesaver for us! My senior dog has anxiety, and has never stayed with a non-family member, so leaving her for 5 days was initially a bit daunting. However, Danielle was incredibly patient and understanding, and her calm demeanor really helped my pup settle in. Daily text updates and photos provided peace of mind. The photos clearly showed that she was comfortable and captured adorable moments of her relaxing. It was evident how well my dog was cared for. Danielle followed all instructions, and the home was clean. Booking is highly recommended!”

“Peyton provided our dog with all she needed- a playmate, nourishment, exercise and most importantly security. Coby looks forward to spending time with Peyton and Oakley again soon.”

“Kayla and family took really good care of Raylan and distracted him for the weekend. Accompanied by small companions of the dog and human kind. An experience he doesn't often get. Thank you Kayla.”

“Juyne sent updates throughout the day with messages and pictures of my Lexi. I am new to the area and she was my first experience with letting anyone keep her. Juyne assured me I was comfortable leaving Lexi in her hands. I will definitely use her again.”

Hailie has boarded our dog Cooper several times and has been very attentive and personable to work with. It's more like a close friend watching our dog rather than "boarding" him. He gets excited to go to her house and she has been flexible and understanding with unpredictable booking conflicts. We will continue to call on Hailie for our Cooper's "babysitting" needs😁

Davida was amazing!! ☺️ She is super sweet & put us to ease quickly. Upon meeting Davida, she was very welcoming & had a calm & loving sense about her. ☺️ She sent pictures & videos during our pups stay & kept us update on how they were doing. 💜 Our Goldendoodle is a little shy around new people & she adjusted really well with Davida. ☺️ We could tell they were so well cared for & loved on. We will absolutely use Davida again!! ☺️

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
