Daniel has been super reliable! I don't have to worry...

Daniel was a quick with his response and louie warmed up quickly and I will definitely be booking with him from here on out

This was our first experience with rover. Daniel was excellent to work with. He sent frequent updates. He was was very kind to our lab. We recommend Daniel if your in need of someone to take care of your home and pets.

Daniel has helped me several times now and has been 100% reliable! I greatly appreciate that I can count on him and will be booking him again. He is also polite and kind.

We are writing this review to attest to our concern and worry about this individual as a pet sitter. As a doctor in veterinary medicine, I´ve met many different pet sitters. Two of our most recent belong to Rover and we could not have been happier with them, and viceversa. Although, in this case, we could not have been more negatively alarmed with this individual not only as a pet sitter but as a person as well. After going through Daniel´s reviews before we hired him, we noticed that there was a single review where the customer shared a very negative experience with hiring him to watch their animals. At the time, we chalked this up to a jaded customer. Although we could not have been more wrong. That review completely mirrors our experience with hiring Daniel. We have 3 dogs, 2 adults and a 3 month old puppy who is not fully vaccinated nor fully potty trained yet. We wanted to make sure that Daniel understood that having a 3 month old puppy unsupervised is a risk to the puppy´s health since he could very easily get into something or chew something that could be harmful for him. We gave him a sheet of basic instructions, and he completely ignored them and took advantage of the situation. We hired him for only a day from 8 am til 6 pm. He started the day off by arriving 30 mins late. This led to my husband having to reschedule a doctor´s appt that day because we would not have made it in time to the appt while waiting for Daniel to arrive. When we had to leave the house, we told him not to leave the puppy alone or unsupervised, and we reiterated that point in the instructions we left for him. We believed we had agreed upon these instructions, but he decided to let the dogs outside the house unsupervised regardless. Shortly after we left, Daniel decided to take a nap from 12:30 pm to 4:00 pm on our couch while he was supposed to be watching the dogs. When we got home, the smell of weed filled the entire house. We also talked with him about this, as smoking weed or any drugs is not allowed in our home because we are renting. This could jeopardize our lease and end our contract immediately, without forgetting the fact that he did it while he was supposed to be pet sitting. When we tried to tell him how concerning and how disappointed and upset we were, he begged us not to leave a bad review and make it right with a refund. We told him we do not care about the money, and this was more about ensuring he does not do this to someone else´s animals. After Daniel realized that we were not going to give in to his request not to leave a negative review, he cancelled the refund and texted my husband, saying that he felt unsafe with us and tried to report us to Rover. The beauty of having security footage working 24/7 is that in cases where you need to prove yourself, like this one, and call out possible liars and/or scammer, video and audio evidence sure does come in handy. We hope that after talking to Rover and providing all pertinent evidence to back up our claims, they will do the right thing by taking action to prevent this individual from possibly putting at risk another person´s pets. We believe not only as a vet, but also as a pet owner, that the priority of a sitter is the health and safety of the animal/s you are hired to watch and take care of. Definitely with this individual, with his kind of care and actions, nothing further from the truth.
