“Lauren did a great job taking care of our cat while we were away. She was on time each day and communicated well, sending us pictures of our kitty every day.”

“Abriana was wonderful with Suki. She arrived on time, was very personable, and made me feel completely comfortable leaving Suki in her care. She uploaded photos, kept me updated, and handled everything perfectly. I’m so grateful and would definitely book with her again.”

“We just got back from a week-long road trip and honestly, the best part was not worrying about our dogs the entire time. Cailynn took care of Jasper and Gordon like they were her own. Two small dogs with two very different personalities is not always an easy ask, and she handled it effortlessly. We got regular photo updates that made the whole family smile, especially our girls, who checked for new pictures every morning. Everything was clean and in order when we got home, and both dogs were relaxed and clearly well cared for — no anxious behavior, no adjustment period, just happy pups. Communication was easy from the start, scheduling was flexible, and she followed our feeding and walk routine exactly as we left it. We'll absolutely be booking again for our next trip and recommend her to anyone in the area without hesitation.”

“Keilah is a great pet sitter! I have an extremely shy and anxious cat and somehow she got him to come out and play a little and even got a photo of him giving her a kiss! I was shocked! I recommend her for any pet needs and will absolutely be going back to her.”

“AnaBeth did an excellent job watching my cat, Greta. She communicated frequently so I was up to date on how Greta was doing. Every visit included lots of pictures, which I loved! I came home to a happy kitty and a clean home. I will definitely be using AnaBeth for future pet-sitting :)”

“Erin was great to work with. She took great care of our dogs. It was a relief to know she was caring for them while we traveled. I would book her again in the future.”

About: I’ve taken care of cats for a few years now and have a family dog whom I love dearly and take on super long wilderness walks. I’m currently working a part time restaurant job that sends out a weekly schedule and volunteer at a dental clinic until 12:30 Mondays-Thursdays. I also work at a brunch place on the weekends from 8-3! I have a fenced in yard that I play with my dog in but I have always done pet sitting and visits at the owner’s house.
“Disha was absolutely incredible! My wife and I were away for 10 days, and she took amazing care of our cat, Little John, who is truly our pride and joy. She stopped by every day, provided great updates, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Disha is reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would gladly book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Amy responded immediately to my last minute request to help out with our 3 dogs while we were in town for our son’s wedding and even popped over to our airb&b to meet the dogs that afternoon. She did 3 drop-in visits over the course of two days with great feedback and photos. Thanks to her, we were able to enjoy our son’s wedding worry-free!!!!”

“We have used David several times and he is great. He keeps us updated about our dogs, sends texts and pictures to let us know how they are doing, and he is very easy going and excellent to work with. One of the best people I have worked with on Rover, would recommend him to anyone and is my first choice when I need someone to look after my dogs.”

“Teneisha was amazing and braved the crazy snowstorm all week to make sure my two cats were cared for and safe. I am beyond grateful! Will definitely be using her again!”

“Meghan has been wonderful with our puppy and older dog! She took the time to bond and gain the puppy's trust. She is very knowledgeable about animals and gave us lots of tips. We've enjoyed having really enjoy our time with Meghan, and so do the pups!”

“Kathryn was great with our cats (who warmed up to her faster than their usual), communicated super well, and was fastidious about care and cleaning. Would love to work with her again!”

“Savannah is friendly, direct, responsible, pays attention to detail, and oh-so-clearly LOVES animals and caring for them. Superlative petsitter! Will hire again and again.”

About: I have always had animals and pets around me and never hesitated to take care of others pets when needed. I grew up with three labradors, a cat, and a bird. I currently have my own cat with my partner and hope to someday get a medium/large dog! I am currently working full-time remote. I can be flexible on the location I work from depending on my work load on any given day. I can be more flexible after 5pm for some activities. Usually, my Sundays are busy but occasionally I can be flexible. I cannot currently offer service in my own home. However, I will treat your home with the utmost respect to you and your pets environment as though it were my own.
About: I grew up in the area walking dogs all throughout my neighborhood. I even have extensive experience caring for dogs over night for extended periods of time. Additionally, my family has a dog that I grew up caring for. He’s a rescue and had a really hard time adjusting to our family, but with time, he settled in well and grew to love us. I love all dogs and feel comfortable caring for any size, breed, etc. I work from home full time and can create my own hours. Most of the time, I work from 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday, but I am not preoccupied during all of those hours. As long as I get my work done, I typically have a lot of free time throughout the day. My husband also works from home, so it is just the two of us in the house all day. We have a spacious three bedroom house and live right in the heart of Squirrel Hill. I can easily crate your dog in my living room if needed and would never be far from them. If crating is not needed, I spend most of my time in my office, directly next to the living room, working anyways. I would be able to spend most of my time with your dog to keep them company and play whenever they wanted. I work fully remote in a 9-5 job, however I create my own schedule on a day to day basis. I have a project based job so I’m required to meet certain deadlines, which gives me a lot of freedom to manage my own time. I typically start my days with working out around 6am and then will begin working right away as to give myself more time in the day to eat, go on walks, and give myself mental breaks. I want to make your pet feel as at home as possible. They would be welcome to hang out with me while I work or just hang out on the couch or deck/backyard. I’m all for playing games so if they have any toys you’d like to bring, I welcome that!
About: My name is Sammie, and I love dogs of all shapes and sizes. I have four dogs of my own at home, and I love them all dearly. I honestly just need more dogs in my life. (Don’t tell my dogs though!) I’ll feed your dogs, play with them, walk them, and generally just make sure they are well taken care of. I’m hoping to do this as an extra form of pay for the summer months, and if it goes well, when I’m home on weekends for college too. I have been dog sitting for at least three years, with a little bit of cat sitting experience, too! Give me a holler if you want me to take care of your fur babies, I promise they are in good hands :) I have a part time job right now, but I’m always willing to swing by before or after work depending on your needs! Just let me know what works better for you! I will always do my best to make sure your pets have a safe and clean environment to play and lounge around in! I want to go the extra mile to make your fur babies (and you!) happy!
“Justin was great to work with overall. I used him to take my dog out while I was at work and he texted me updates during the visit and took pictures as well. He also documented a summary of the visit and left my place exactly as I found it. I would highly recommend him and use him again if I need him.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Homestead
Amy has been great with our last minute requests! My partner and I have never used rover and needed someone within the week. We were very nervous, but Amy responded within the hour to set up a meet and greet. She is extremely responsive and accommodated last minute changes and requests. You can tell she really cares about your animals. I have already booked with her again!

Lucas was excellent with all of our animals! Not only did he care for everyone expertly but he left the sink and pet dishes clean and orderly (not expected but very much appreciated!). He also handled medication for our elderly cat, which is a sigh of relief for when we go on weekend adventures and short trips (something we used to not be able to do before finding helpers such as Lucas :) ).

Tracie is incredibly reliable and I love that she sends lots of pics. Tracie can buy before our arranged sitting time to meet the dogs. I have two dogs- one of whom can be intimidating with her bark. Tracie was completely unfazed and my dog warmed to her immediately. Highly recommend.

Tony has been a consistent high performer when it comes to the care of our dog. I appreciate how in tune he is with our dogs' needs. He not only provides basic care giving, but also love and affection for our pup in my family's absence. I highly recommend him.

Valerie did a wonderful job watching Archie! She kept me updated with regular texts and sent pictures, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. It was clear Archie was well cared for and happy the whole time. I would absolutely recommend Valerie and would gladly book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
