“Allicia was wonderful!!! My pets instantly felt at ease with her. She was reliable, sent daily -really cute photos(she could be a pet photographer ?)!! and communicated throughout the service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: Hello! My name is Rachael, and I'm a graduate student who loves animals. My black cat, Zelda, has lived and traveled with me through six different countries and now lives with me here in Pittsburgh. I was raised in a household full of dog people and always lived with at least two dogs at any given time, so I have a lot of experience caring for and playing with dogs of various sizes and personalities. I also am experienced with caring for various other kinds of pets, from hedgehogs to lizards to fish to frogs. I'm a PhD student with a lot of flexibility in my schedule, so I typically schedule walks and drop-ins for the morning or evening. I also have no classes on Fridays and a lot of flexibility on weekends! I like to fit walks and visits into my daily routine in a way that helps me to get some extra steps in. When petsitting in a client's home, I always review all the instructions carefully. It's helpful for me to know as much as possible about the pet, such as any health or behavioral concerns I should be aware of, likes and dislikes, etc. I always respect a pet's boundaries and prioritize their safety and wellbeing. I also make sure to check in with the client regularly and alert them immediately of any concerns that need to be brought to their attention.
“Lucas was very reliable and professional in caring for our cat. Lucas even did some useful things we did not ask him to do, such as take out and bring back our garbage can.”

“Breanna was wonderful with our cats while we were away on vacation! She came in for daily drops ins to feed them, scoop litter, and play with them. She sent detailed updates and high quality pictures every day that we looked forward to seeing. I felt really safe leaving our cats and home in her care and would absolutely recommend her to anyone. In addition to taking great care of the cats she brought in mail/packages and took out the garbage. She also vacuumed up their litter room without me having to ask. There’s nothing better than coming home from vacation to a clean house and happy kitties. Thank you Bre!!!”

“Divya did drop-in visits for our two dogs for two weeks and she did a great job. The dogs loved her and she sent a ton of pictures. We would absolutely work with her again.”

“Ashley was extremely responsive and took lots of notes and pictures while watching Yukichi. I last minute asked if she could do 2 drop ins a day for my cat since he was a little lonely, and she was able to accommodate. I felt so much better knowing Yukichi was in her care while I was away for an extended period. Highly, highly recommend!!!”

“Gia is an exceptional Pet sitter and my dogs LOVE her. Gia is always on time and fantastic with the dogs. I got a new puppy this summer and Gia stepped right in to help with all that that involves. My older dog adores her. I was so comfortable leaving my girls with her. She is someone i would never hesitate to call. Fantastic sitter !”

“Tony was incredibly accommodating when our cat got an eye infection right before we left, and she needed additional care and more frequent visits. I’m so grateful to Tony for putting our minds at ease! He provided thorough updates and cute photos. Thanks to him, our cat’s eye is looking better than when we left. We will absolutely rebook!”

“Clareese was so kind and attentive. She took great care of my cat and also kept me informed the whole time I was away. I was not worried at all. She was a perfect fit for our needs, and I definitely will be rebooking her!”

About: I’ve been volunteering at animal shelters since 2024 with the job to socialize dogs and cats who are waiting to be adopted. I am fear free certified. I’ve also completed level one of a dog training program which included kennel safety procedures, canine body language, and enrichment practices. I currently work full time with a hybrid schedule, so I’ve got lots of availability for your weekend pet adventures! If you live near Squirrel Hill and need care during the week - just ask! I know that all animals have their own personalities and require personalized support based on their interests and boundaries. I intentionally observe pets to see the level of affection they are looking for and of course if they have any favorite ways to play!
“Disha was absolutely incredible! My wife and I were away for 10 days, and she took amazing care of our cat, Little John, who is truly our pride and joy. She stopped by every day, provided great updates, and gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Disha is reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would gladly book with her again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs! I have experience feeding, playing, bathing, walking, and even training young dogs with simple things. I was able to gain experience taking care of dogs because I have a dog of my own who is now a senior. I’m also a dog walker at my local animal shelter which allows me to interact with dogs of all ages and different behaviors. Aside from dogs, I also have experience feeding and playing with cats. I have two cats who are friendly, love cuddles, neck scratches, and are amazing with my dog! I’m a college student who commutes to school. I have more flexibility during breaks but throughout the school year weekends are what would work best. I have experience with both cats and dogs. This has allowed me to work with animals that have different behaviors. I believe that animals require patience and love just like any other being. If needed, your pet will be in good hands in my home since my cats and dog get along very well.
“Krista went above and beyond for our kitties during our trip! She made sure to check with us during every feeding and stayed with them for extra play time and cuddles. We highly recommend booking her!”

“Andy is seriously the BEST pet sitter. I’ve been searching for a reliable, kind, and responsible pet sitter for my dog for a while, and Andy is officially my go-to!! His communication is incredible - leading up to the date of service Andy was always so responsive (rapidly!) and engaged. He seriously showed he cared about the animals from the start. During the pet care taking he offered incredible summaries, videos, and pictures. I never doubted that my sweet pup and my boyfriend’s cat were in the best hands. Andy, thank you so much. We can’t wait to keep using you as our pet sitter from here on out! If you’re looking for an amazing pet sitter to care for your animals, seriously look no further.”

About: There hasn’t been a time where there wasn’t a cat or dog running around my house! All of my animals have lived past the age of 15, so they are well taken care of. I love all animals and really would save them all if I could. My Rover promise to you is to treat your pets like I treat my own with nothing but love, kindness, and definitely some treats ;)! I set my own schedule by working with special needs adults, so I can usually be flexible if given at least a few hours notice. I have a senior dog that is 15 years old and her name is Reese. I also have a very hyper 4 year old Great Pyrenees/Anolian shepherd who absolutely loves everyone! I have experience with senior dogs, puppies, and also dogs with disabilities. I have been in the medical field for over 20 years, so it feels like Christmas morning every day when I get back to my fur babies. I’m at a point in my life where my daughter is an adult, so I have finally have extra time again. I would treat your pet like I treat my own babies!

Adisyn was so sweet and patient with my deaf, shy, and skittish little cat. I could tell from the pictures that Luna felt incredibly at ease around Adisyn. She took amazing care of Luna and even checked in to make sure she was okay after Pittsburgh was rocked by some serious thunderstorms and severe weather :-) Adisyn is an amazing communicator and pet caretaker. I would absolutely book again!!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
