“This is the first time I’ve left my two cats with anyone other than a close friend and Is Stephanie put my mind at ease every day, twice a day with a report and photographs. Both of my cats are very shy and timid, but one of them did come down a couple times and let her give him a treat and even some petting. i’m very pleased with her pet sitting service and would hire her again and recommend her to anyone.”

“Breanna was wonderful with our cats while we were away on vacation! She came in for daily drops ins to feed them, scoop litter, and play with them. She sent detailed updates and high quality pictures every day that we looked forward to seeing. I felt really safe leaving our cats and home in her care and would absolutely recommend her to anyone. In addition to taking great care of the cats she brought in mail/packages and took out the garbage. She also vacuumed up their litter room without me having to ask. There’s nothing better than coming home from vacation to a clean house and happy kitties. Thank you Bre!!!”

“Jess is honestly the best. My cat got sick before we left and she had no problem giving him his medications. She gives my animals the same love and care that I do. I will continue to use Jess.”

“Tony did a wonderful job dropping in on my cat. Tony spent a lot of time getting to know her and from his updates I could tell she was very comfortable when he was visiting. Great check-ins, fun pictures, and I felt very assured my cat was being well cared for by Tony.”

“Clareese took such great care of my cats Hiro and Miso while we were away! She gave great updates, was super friendly, and very flexible with everything. It made me feel so much better knowing they were in good hands. You can tell she really cares about the pets she watches. Will 100% book with her again!”

“Abigayle was great doing drop in visits with our dog. He is normally anxious and takes a while to warm up to new people but it didn’t take long at all with Abigayle. She is very punctual and great with communication. Your pet will be well cared for.”

About: I love dogs and grew up with them! Though I don't have the space for them now, I've been missing some puppy playtime! Both of my parents are vets as well, so I'm also pretty well versed in all things pet care! I do work full-time, but a lot of my job can be done from home depending on the amount of notice I have before discussing that with my boss. That being said my weekends are pretty open as well as the occasional monday. I typically work from home every other monday! I love all animals! Growing up I had 2 dogs and then foster failed 2 cats! Those 2 cats currently live with my parents, but I'm bringing them up here when I move into my own place. Both of my roommates also have cats!
“Ashley provided incredible care for our cat Henry and I truly can’t recommend her service enough. Hen can be shy with new people and gets a bit depressed when we leave for vacation. Ashley encouraged him and built trust and confidence right off the bat and they spent her visits playing and spending true quality time together. Her updates and communication are fantastic. When we returned Henry was relaxed and comfortable. Thank you Ashley!!”

About: I am a young professional violinist based in Pittsburgh, and I have spent many breaks home from school dog-sitting around my neighborhood. Whether it‘s walks or giving pets, being around animals brings me so much joy and I would love to keep dog-sitting while I build my career as a musician. As a gigging musician, I have a flexible schedule based around performances, lessons, and auditions. My schedule can vary week to week, but I am almost always squeeze in walks and drop-ins according to my daily availability. My experience with sitting has included home-stays, dropping in multiple times a day, and just going for walks; I am comfortable with all of these options and genuinely enjoy spending quality time with dogs!
“Allicia was wonderful!!! My pets instantly felt at ease with her. She was reliable, sent daily -really cute photos(she could be a pet photographer ?)!! and communicated throughout the service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Keilah is a great pet sitter! I have an extremely shy and anxious cat and somehow she got him to come out and play a little and even got a photo of him giving her a kiss! I was shocked! I recommend her for any pet needs and will absolutely be going back to her.”

About: I have always had animals and pets around me and never hesitated to take care of others pets when needed. I grew up with three labradors, a cat, and a bird. I currently have my own cat with my partner and hope to someday get a medium/large dog! I am currently working full-time remote. I can be flexible on the location I work from depending on my work load on any given day. I can be more flexible after 5pm for some activities. Usually, my Sundays are busy but occasionally I can be flexible. I cannot currently offer service in my own home. However, I will treat your home with the utmost respect to you and your pets environment as though it were my own.
“David was excellent with our kitties, including a very shy one who warmed up to him. He is incredibly attentive and communicative. Would definitely have him back!!”

“Kathryn was great with our cats (who warmed up to her faster than their usual), communicated super well, and was fastidious about care and cleaning. Would love to work with her again!”

“Erin took great care of my cats and sent me tons of photos and videos of them playing. I can tell everyone was well cared for and got plenty of attention. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!”

“We loved working with Meghan! We have a very large, very anxious and moody dog and another very high energy independent pup--they are NOT an easy pair to care for. Meghan did a meet and greet and she had both of them following her around and listening to her every command. We felt so much relief knowing she was taking good care of our babies, she sent updates, photos and video to document her stay. We will definitely ask her back!”

“Amy responded immediately to my last minute request to help out with our 3 dogs while we were in town for our son’s wedding and even popped over to our airb&b to meet the dogs that afternoon. She did 3 drop-in visits over the course of two days with great feedback and photos. Thanks to her, we were able to enjoy our son’s wedding worry-free!!!!”

Savannah was wonderful with Ziggy! She took time with him each visit for play and cuddles and kept me updated with lots of photos and messages. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for kitty. I would absolutely book Savannah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable pet sitter!

We felt completely secure leaving our Mona cat in the care of Rose. Rose administered her med, interacted with Mona on Mona’s terms, and even went above & beyond and watered our plants. We came home to a happy cat and clean environment. Communication was great while we were away.

Tracie is incredibly reliable and I love that she sends lots of pics. Tracie can buy before our arranged sitting time to meet the dogs. I have two dogs- one of whom can be intimidating with her bark. Tracie was completely unfazed and my dog warmed to her immediately. Highly recommend.

Ashley was fantastic and I would use her services again in a heartbeat. She was extremely thorough in following the instructions I left and reached out with questions for anything that was unclear. Her reports were detailed with plenty of cute pictures for reassurance.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
