“Clareese did an awesome job with our Anni. She let me know when she was there and took lots of pictures and even a video while taking care of Anni. We would definitely use her again in the future.”

“There are no words for how wonderful Breanna has been over the past few years with my high maintenance cat. I am actually reluctant to relocate for work because I know I'll never find a more kind and patient Mo-Whisperer (and a genuinely - like unnecessarily 😂 - talented photographer, which is a lovely bonus)”

About: I’ve grown up with both cats and dogs! I have experience feeding, playing, bathing, walking, and even training young dogs with simple things. I was able to gain experience taking care of dogs because I have a dog of my own who is now a senior. I’m also a dog walker at my local animal shelter which allows me to interact with dogs of all ages and different behaviors. Aside from dogs, I also have experience feeding and playing with cats. I have two cats who are friendly, love cuddles, neck scratches, and are amazing with my dog! I’m a college student who commutes to school. I have more flexibility during breaks but throughout the school year weekends are what would work best. I have experience with both cats and dogs. This has allowed me to work with animals that have different behaviors. I believe that animals require patience and love just like any other being. If needed, your pet will be in good hands in my home since my cats and dog get along very well.
“Andrew was reliable and communicative for each visit. We got pictures of all of our pup’s activities and he managed our teething puppy. Will definitely come back to him in the future!”

“Allicia was wonderful!!! My pets instantly felt at ease with her. She was reliable, sent daily -really cute photos(she could be a pet photographer ?)!! and communicated throughout the service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: Growing up surrounded by animals, my love for my pets naturally evolved to leaning towards caring for other people's pets. I bring 6 years of reliable, hands-on pet care experience spanning multiple life stages — from energetic puppies navigating their first milestones to adult pets needing attentive companionship. Over the years, I have managed a wide variety of temperaments and behavioral quirks, ensuring that every dog and cat in my care feels secure, comfortable, and loved. What truly distinguishes my service is my proactive, communication-first approach combined with a calm, adaptable energy. I don't just check the boxes for feeding and walks; I focus entirely on mirroring your pet's normal routine to minimize any separation anxiety. I prioritize absolute transparency, providing you with detailed, high-quality updates and photos so you can have complete peace of mind while you are away. Whether it be drop-in visits at your home or boarding your pet at mine, I always treat your pet with the utmost respect and like family. As I have dogs of my own, it will fit like a glove as I will be caring for your dog alongside my own. I will treat your dog like my own. Dogs are very important to me regardless whether it’s my own dog or someone else’s. I will make sure that dog is safe and feels cared for in any environment.

About: I have been an animal lover since as long as I can remember, albeit, my favorite animal is a dolphin, my love for cats and dogs runs deep. Currently, I work part-time so I will have lots of availability to play and care for your fur babies. I am available for boarding on weekends and other services on weekdays. Since I will be in your home caring for your fur babies, I’m sure I will have all I need to keep them well taken care of :)

About: I’ve had cats now for about 5 years! 4 of my own (ages 4, 4, 4, and 8), and they are absolutely the loves of my life!! I do also have experience with administering oral and eye medications for cats! My experience with dogs isn’t quite as extensive but just as thorough!! I have experience with walking and feeding!! I currently work full-time as a registered nurse, doing rotating (days and nights) 12 hour shifts, 3 days a week, so I typically have quite a bit of availability and a pretty flexible schedule!! I am currently available for drop-in visits to ensure your pet has all the care they need! I will also provide pictures and updates :) My cats get fed twice a day and have plenty of toys and scratch posts! I also have an abundance of treats for them to snack on!!
About: I adopted a Maltese poodle mix from a shelter when she was 10 years old and cared for her through her senior years, up to age 17. She came from a rough background and didn't trust anyone at first, so it took real patience to earn that trust. Over time I taught her commands, potty-trained her, and helped her feel safe again through her senior years. That experience taught me how much consistency and gentle patience matter for dogs who need extra support, especially seniors or pups recovering from a hard start. I believe animals show us what unconditional love looks like, and what it means to earn it. I would be so excited and honored to be a part of ensuring the happiness and well-being of you and your pup's lives! I am available anytime after 4:30pm Monday through Friday! On weekends and holidays I am usually more open/available so can definitely be more flexible! During walks, I'll bring extra water and a small bowl for your pup in case they need it. If you're able to provide potty bags, that's a big help — but if not, I'm happy to bring my own, no problem at all! I always maintain distance between your dog and any others we pass, since you can never predict another dog's temperament or reaction. Your dog's safety is my absolute top priority, and I want to make sure they feel comfortable and secure throughout the walk.
About: I have had dogs in my household since I was a baby. I moved to pittsburgh in 2021, and before that was living with my parents who had four dogs! Right now, I have 3 cats. I love to dogsit and spend time with other people's babies! I have experience in dog sitting, and have spent some time working in dog daycare/boarding. I am currently not working a typical job so I am available 7 days a week most weeks and can spend all of my time with your pet if needed! I am dedicated to keeping your pets safe and happy by keeping a close eye on them and making sure that they are loved and cared for.
“Savannah was wonderful with Ziggy! She took time with him each visit for play and cuddles and kept me updated with lots of photos and messages. I came home to a happy, well-cared-for kitty. I would absolutely book Savannah again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable pet sitter!”

About: I’ve grown up around animals and have experience caring for pets of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet seniors. I have two cats of my own and started Rover because I truly miss having a dog around and love spending time with animals. I work full-time, but picked up Rovering to make some extra cash and also fullfill a dog-sized whole in my heart from living with them my whole life. I am available anytime after 4pm on weekdays and all hours on weekends. Because I have two cats at home, I currently only offer care in my clients’ homes. I always try to keep pets comfortable by following their normal routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications, and any special instructions. I’m attentive to each pet’s personality and needs and want them to feel safe, relaxed, and well cared for while you’re away.

“Kathryn was great with our cats (who warmed up to her faster than their usual), communicated super well, and was fastidious about care and cleaning. Would love to work with her again!”

“Ryan was an excellent find! Pleasant, dependable, and responsive, he did a fantastic job of taking care of my three cats while we were away for almost two weeks. Not only did he take care of my boys, he also brought in all the packages that we received while we were gone. He will be my first call when I need a pet care from here on out. Thanks Ryan!!”

“Justin was great! He was very quick to communicate about booking and visits! He was on-time and flexible for drop-in visits, and he provided great updates and photos of his time with Callie! They went for plenty of walks, and Justin spent extra time throwing the ball for her, and just relaxing at home for extra company while I was away! I will book again with Justin for my next trip! He did a fantastic job with Callie!”

About: Look no further! My name is Allayna, and I'd be honored to be entrusted with your pet(s)! I primarily have experience working with dogs who experience separation anxiety, so rest assured that I will be gentle and understanding of your pet's needs, whatever they are. I also know that communication is key to easing your anxiety while you're apart - and I've got that covered too because I'm super transparent. If you have to trust anybody, let it be someone who will respect you AND your pet! Shoot me a message and let's schedule a meet & greet! I hope to see you soon. Having a job that allows me to work from home frees up weekday time for walks or house sitting. I love being outside, so walking your dog might be as exciting for me as it is for them! I have availability during weekdays as needed, in addition to evenings and weekends. I recognize the delicacy of having someone else in your home caring for your pet, and wish to honor that. I'm happy to take my shoes off when I enter your home, and more importantly, I intend to treat all possessions and environments (most especially your pet!) with the utmost care and gentleness while ensuring safety.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and have cared for many, whether that’s my own, family, friends, and neighbors. I have walked, cared for, and helped train all dog types. I do not shy away from large breeds and will match their energy. If you have anxious or shy pets I will put in the time to get to know them and make them feel safe. Senior dogs with most special needs I have experienced. I am currently launching a business that allows for flexibility. I am wanting to find a feel good passion project and this fits perfectly into my schedule throughout the day. I will treat your pet and home as if you are there, friendly and respectfully. Knowing a pet is inside I am aware of escape artist so I do show caution opening the door. Depending on the person and place I can do a sweep through the house to make sure there were no accidents from your pet as well. While in my care, I am very aware of my surrounding and typically keep an extra leash, treats, and doggie bag on me as well. Depending on the energy level of your dog, I can always take them for a little extra run if needed.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Whitaker
Lucas was a wonderful pet sitter for my Ori- I would 100% book again. Communicative, punctual, and even accommodated for last minute travel plan changes and was able to extend the booking an extra day. Went above and beyond by cleaning his litter box as well. Thank you, Lucas! 😊

Divya is an excellent sitter, and on such short notice too. The write-ups she gave looking after my cat while I was out of town were quite detailed and the pictures she took were adorable. It gave me a lot of peace of mind knowing that someone so attentive was checking in on him and giving him bit of company each day.

Pulpo recieved the most purrrrrfect care from Brooke and her family. He was obviously looking forward to seeing them and had a lot of fun each time they came. We got the sweetest photos and updates each visit and came home to a very content creature. 100% recommend!

Valerie is a conscientious and loving pet sitter and my dogs and cats love her visits. She maintains good communication both before and during visits so I feel comfortable leaving my pets in her capable hands. She goes above and beyond and I trust her with my 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Lindsey did an amazing job taking care of our 3 cats. She took it in stride that Zoe chose to hide under the bed every time she came to feed them. (Of course she came out on the last day.). Buddy chose to hide for several days too, and she spent time in our cluttered basement trying to lay eyes on him. Eventually he softened up though. Sammy was all in from the beginning, and he loves Lindsey. She spent time playing with the two boys, and made sure their wack-a-mole toy was charged up. She very thoughtfully left lights on inside the house for our return, which we greatly appreciated, as our flight was delayed and we didn't get home until 2am. So nice to not come home to a dark house, and everything looked really good. Lindsey is wonderful!

Erin was highly communicative and dependable. She took great care of our two large, high-energy dogs while we were away. She asked thoughtful questions in advance to make sure she a thorough understanding of the dogs and what they needed. We would happily work with Erin again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
