“Meghan has been wonderful with our puppy and older dog! She took the time to bond and gain the puppy's trust. She is very knowledgeable about animals and gave us lots of tips. We've enjoyed having really enjoy our time with Meghan, and so do the pups!”

“I don’t think there are enough words to do justice for the amount of appreciation I have for Erin. Erin not only took this booking the day before I needed her due to a last minute cancel by another rover user, she also extended the time we needed her for due to medical emergencies. She went over and beyond for our dogs, especially considering she had to keep them separate the entire time and one of the dogs is not potty trained yet. She even washed the rags we provided her to be able to clean the puppies cage when she went to the bathroom! I think it goes without saying that Erin is an extremely reliable dog sitter, our dogs were very happy when we got home and appear to be kept for very well. She sent us a lot of photos and videos which our son looked forward to seeing everyday, and she kept us up to date on how the dogs were doing! I would highly recommend Erin as a dog sitter, you can tell she really loves animals!”

“Cam took such excellent care of my kitties! Great, thorough, timely, and hilarious updates. My cats were so chill when I got home, I seriously think they were like, wait a minute, where’s Cam, what are you doing here?? Gilly has a new best friend, and even Petunia, my cat with a shall we say ‘difficult’ personality, was warming up. I’d hire Cam again in a heartbeat!”

“Jessica is the reason we are able to get away for a few days, week, etc. We don't have to worry about our pets. We know they will get the attentions they need. AAA+”

About: I am a young professional violinist based in Pittsburgh, and I have spent many breaks home from school dog-sitting around my neighborhood. Whether it‘s walks or giving pets, being around animals brings me so much joy and I would love to keep dog-sitting while I build my career as a musician. As a gigging musician, I have a flexible schedule based around performances, lessons, and auditions. My schedule can vary week to week, but I am almost always squeeze in walks and drop-ins according to my daily availability. My experience with sitting has included home-stays, dropping in multiple times a day, and just going for walks; I am comfortable with all of these options and genuinely enjoy spending quality time with dogs!

“Divya was amazing! I think the biggest compliment comes from our cat, who was remarkably calm after we returned from quite a long trip. Divya clearly has a passion for earning the trust of animals and making them feel safe. She left detailed reports and photos after every visit and always sought to make progress with our pet, finding more ways to make him feel comfortable and secure. We were very fortunate to hire such a passionate and detail oriented caretaker.”

“Gary was great! I loved that he was willing to meet prior to my first booking to meet myself and Halo. She’s still a very shy pup and he got her to actually potty outside for her morning walk! Very friendly, communicative and professional!”

“Amazing service and (p)updates from Ashley. She handled my two husky-mixes like a pro and made sure to make me feel comfortable about her own safety protocols and expectations if anything had gone wrong (which luckily it didn't!). She even cleaned up the one accident that occurred and let me know about it. All around 10/10 will trust my pups to her again!”

About: I’ve taken care of neighborhood dogs and cats since I was 12. In May of 2020, I got my first puppy and crate-trained and have taken care of her since. I love cats and dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities! *I will be leaving the Pittsburgh area on August 8th!* I am currently working for the city government, so I have a very reliable 9-5 schedule. I am largely free outside of that and can’t wait to spend time with your pets! I currently do not offer services in my home. In your home, I am happy to take care of your pet in any way they need!
About: I’ve been around dogs for all of my life and have been helping care for pets since I was about 10 years old. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs with all kinds of personalities, from playful, high-energy pups to shy older dogs who need a little extra patience and time to feel comfortable. What sets me apart is that I’m very attentive to the little details that matter. I know every pet has their own routine, quirks, likes, dislikes, and comfort level, and I take that seriously. Whether your dog needs a long walk, a slow sniffy walk, extra reassurance, careful feeding instructions, or just someone calm and kind to hang out with them, I’ll follow your directions closely and care for them with patience. I also understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else. I’ll keep you updated, communicate clearly, and make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. Because I’m currently a Physician Assistant student, my schedule is too variable for me to have my own dog full-time right now, but I truly miss having that connection and companionship with animals. I’d love the opportunity to give your pet the same care, attention, and affection I would give my own! My schedule varies with school/clinical responsibilities, but I’m happy to work with you to find times that fit your pet’s routine. I’m available for walks and drop-in visits depending on the day, and I’ll always be honest and clear about my availability before booking so your pet gets reliable, consistent care. In a client’s home, I’m respectful, careful, and detail-oriented. I’ll follow your pet’s routine as closely as possible, including feeding instructions, medications if needed, leash/harness preferences, crate routines, and any house rules. I’m also mindful of safety details like doors, gates, leash security, and how your pet responds to people, other animals, or new environments. My goal is to make your pet feel comfortable and cared for, while giving you peace of mind that they’re in responsible hands.
“Allicia was wonderful!!! My pets instantly felt at ease with her. She was reliable, sent daily -really cute photos(she could be a pet photographer ?)!! and communicated throughout the service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

I am currently a teacher on summer break, so my availability for the summer is pretty open. My availability will change once mid-August rolls around! Safety is my first priority when it comes to taking care of your pet! I am a patient person by nature, so rest assured your pet is in safe hands! I can also take care of any plants if needed!
About: I grew up with cats, dogs and fish. As an adult I’ve personally cared for 1 large dog (Rottweiler/Pitbull/Labrador) and 2 cats. The dog was a troubled rescue that I trained and then found a permanent home. I help with my mother's aging Cocker Spaniel and share in the care of my partner's 3 cats. I’m a scooter riding door dasher, short form video and plein air artist. I was a chef/baker for 15 years. My schedule is completely flexible. Please feel free to set my hours. I live with 3 cats at the moment, black, white and grey. It’s like dancing to a meowing grey scale. They are spoiled, but just enough.
About: I've been watching family, friends and neighbors dogs, cats, birds, rabbits and horses for over 20 years. I started taking care of fur babies full time in 2019 and absolutely love all the pups and parents I've been lucky enough to meet and keep relationships with. I do my best to help with any last minute vacation plans go more smoothly. I only watch ONE DOG in my home at a time (unless they live together) as I can monitor their food intake, their stools and give them one on one attention they love so much. That rule also includes any Meet and Greets, I will only schedule them on days I don't have a doggy guest. I've learned that it's way too much stress for all parties. I allow them on my furniture and will adjust to the specific dogs routine or training as directed. I made a special dog tag that says "Call my pet sitter Kristi if found" w/ my phone #. I put this on every dog I watch just in case you have an escape artist. I live alone in a duplex home on the main floor (my entrance is in backyard) with a patio and partially fenced in back yard (I will be putting a gate so it's fully fenced). I have a Maine Coon cat (Hashbrown) that is very chill and won't chase or try and play with your pup. If either her or your pup is uncomfortable with the other then Hashbrown can be moved to a separate area. I do this full time and try to make any appointments when I don't have a fur baby here. They will be spoiled and loved like my own while they're here. I have a fenced yard for quick early morning potties then typically 2 long walks a day. I send pics/video at least 2x/day so you know you fur baby is happy.
“Nimisha was wonderful. My two dogs got walks and cuddles and they loved all the attention they got on their visits. There were many picture updates during visits as well. Will absolutely book with Nimisha again!”

“Mary is a start pet sitter in my heart. We made some mistakes by leaving the door locked, but Mary was super patient and got the problem solved. Thanks to Mary we had a wonderful holiday without worrying about the cats at home.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Swissvale
Lucas was excellent with all of our animals! Not only did he care for everyone expertly but he left the sink and pet dishes clean and orderly (not expected but very much appreciated!). He also handled medication for our elderly cat, which is a sigh of relief for when we go on weekend adventures and short trips (something we used to not be able to do before finding helpers such as Lucas :) ).

Tracie is incredibly reliable and I love that she sends lots of pics. Tracie can buy before our arranged sitting time to meet the dogs. I have two dogs- one of whom can be intimidating with her bark. Tracie was completely unfazed and my dog warmed to her immediately. Highly recommend.

Tony has been a consistent high performer when it comes to the care of our dog. I appreciate how in tune he is with our dogs' needs. He not only provides basic care giving, but also love and affection for our pup in my family's absence. I highly recommend him.

Valerie did a wonderful job watching Archie! She kept me updated with regular texts and sent pictures, which gave me a lot of peace of mind while I was away. It was clear Archie was well cared for and happy the whole time. I would absolutely recommend Valerie and would gladly book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.
