“Kamal was very attentive to my pet and communicated very well. He made sure to send lots of cute pictures and updates while he boarded my dog Max. I would definitely book with him again!”

“Brydget and her family are great. I’m so glad we found them when we first moved to the area, and we have not used anyone else. They take such great care of our pup and genuinely love him as if he was their own; I consider them his adoptive family.”

“Samantha was truly WONDERFUL! Her previous reviews speak for itself and I knew my dog wren would be in great hands. Samantha’s communication was quick and clear which put me at ease and she even was more than able to pickup and drop off my dog wren which was super convenient for my schedule. She sent photos daily and Wren definitely made herself at home. Will be booking again!”

“Juno and Yuba had a grand time w Amanda, JJ, and the family. We very much appreciate Amanda’s ongoing communication and all the love and attention our doggies received while staying with them. Thank you!”

“Susan was wonderful with our girl Mila! From the start, she was attentive, caring, and communicated well. I was a little nervous leaving Mila since she hadn't been feeling her best the day before drop-off, but Susan immediately put my mind at ease. She kept us updated throughout the stay, which we truly appreciated. brought us peace of mind knowing Mila was in kind and capable hands. We'd absolutely book with Susan again and recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter. Thank you so much, Susan!”

“Stephanie & Devonte were wonderful with my Lisa Nichole. I felt like I could leave town without worry. With a name like Lisa Nichole, she can be a diva sometimes but she loves people and pets that love her. Lisa caused a little hiccup during the visit and they made it all better. I will absolutely use them again if they’ll have us!”

“Taylor and her family did an outstanding job taking care of my dog Bailey. I loved that she continuously sent me pictures of my dog at his very special moments. Taylor was also very flexible and accommodated Bailey’s special diet. I will definitely leave Bailey with Taylor next time I’m out of Town.”

“Luna was so happy during her stay. I could tell by her demeanor when I picked her up that she was comfortable. I will definitely trust Luna with them again without a doubt.”

“Whitney was absolutely wonderful! She is incredibly experienced and professional, and after our initial meet-and-greet, I felt completely comfortable leaving Cooper in her care. He had a great stay, and I really appreciated the personalized updates she sent throughout his visit. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and took excellent care of him. I would definitely recommend Whitney to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“I very highly recommend going with Bill for your Rover needs. Incredibly easy to work with, provided an ideal amount of communication/updates on our pup. I have an energetic goldendoodle and he was returned to us very happy + worn out from his stay. I’ll reach out to Bill next time we need a Rover!”

“Marston is an excellent dog sitter, very friendly and easy to communicate with. He sent several photos and videos so I knew my dog was having a blast. The yard at his house is fenced and is like a mini dog park. He has two friendly dogs who made my dog feel relaxed and welcome. Five stars!!”

“Our dogs had such a good time with Haley! They were well cared for and came back to us happy and healthy. Haley communicates quickly and sent updates and pictures of our dogs having a blast. Would definitely book again.”

“Michelle is the best!! I am so thankful we found her. Our pups are so excited to go to her home. It is so comforting knowing our pups are happy while we are out of town. We will continue to book with her as needed!”

“Beth was terrific with my little girl! My dog is elderly, and she saw how concerned I was leaving her alone, so she was right on the ball and texted me how she was doing and even sent videos so I could see her. I definitely will ask her again to watch my dog when/if we ever take another little trip.”

“Frank was great! This was the first time we had our dog boarded and he was still relatively new to us from the pound so we were not 100% sure how he would do, but Frank took excellent care of him and our dog came back happy and tired! Frank made a point to text us with a little update every day and was sure to be on top of minor incidents that occurred so we were always up to date. We had a pretty strict regimen for our dog plus some medication that needed to be given and everything was done how we always do it! We will definitely be using Frank again!”

IF I COULD GIVE MORE THAN 5 STARS I WOULD!! Gabriela was so accommodating, knowledgeable , and professional! This was my first experience using Rover and leaving my baby with someone who wasn’t a relative, but Gabriela truly soothed all my anxiety. Constant updates, pictures, and videos. Bruno truly had such a great time, she even got him to eat a full meal which is UNHEARD OF for us when he’s in an unfamiliar environment! It was truly great, cannot recommend Gabriela anymore!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
