“Edra was such a blessing of a find. I was very nervous to have to leave my dog with a stranger while vacationing in Hilton Head. I chose Edra because of her reviews and the calm environment and attention she is able to provide. She showed so much genuine care to my dog, and also to me as I was very nervous. She sent so many photo updates throughout the stay, and was always quick to reply. She stuck to my dog’s schedule and was more than accommodating with her. I could tell from the drop off as well as the photo updates that she was comfortable and well taken care of. I wish Edra lived closer to me so I could use her any time I go out of town and need a dog sitter, but I will definitely reach back out any time I am going back to Hilton Head. 10/10 she is so great! I highly recommend Edra to care for your pet.”

“I am at ease when I leave my senior dog with Ashley. She is so considerate to send updates, photos and videos. Ashley will show love to your fur baby and you can tell they are happy when you pick them up. I have used her before and plan on continuing.”

“She was great with my dogs. I am usually nervous about having my babies around new people but they warmed right up to her. I didn’t have to bring the kennel or food because she already had everything. They loved it. She sent pictures and was very communicative with me. If I am ever in need of a babysitter again, Lilyana will be who I go to. It was great!”

“Stephanie and Devonte were great caretakers. The communication and updates were appreciated. They took extra care to meet Tripps unique needs. Thank you.”

“Nakita was awesome! She made sure we were comfortable dropping off our fur babies. We did a meet and greet and were pleased. Followed up with the booking. She was flexible with the drop off and pick up times, she had kennels size appropriate for my big boy. She has a fenced in yard and she has two little boys that are just adorable. She sent pics and videos everyday. They were always happy when with her. The dogs spent a week and were treated like part of her family. Thank you so much for the great work!”

“Gerald was absolutely amazing! He kept us updated the entire time with messages and photos, so we always knew how our dog was doing and what he was up to. It gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear our pup was well cared for (and very spoiled!), and I think he might even be a little sad to be back home with us now. We are so grateful for Gerald and would highly recommend him to anyone!”

“Sierra was amazing! She was so sweet and really loved on our two dogs and her two dogs! Great communication and sent videos and pics! She has a great back area with a doggie door and a secure yard.”

About: I have had dogs from puppyhood through seniors. I will love your fur baby like my own! Whether they need gentle care or to burn off some energy, I’ll be there on time and with a hug for them. I work during the middle of the day but I am available early morning or after 5:30 PM. My time is very flexible on the weekends. When I come to your home, I will leave a note with how the visit went. I can also text you pictures if requested. Your home will be treated with respect.
“Grades & Jerry made me feel at ease when leaving my cat with them for the weekend! I am always a nervous wreck when I'm separated from my pets, but they took great care of my boy! I was sent pictures daily and could tell that my guy was on a literal vacation! Would certainly book again!”

“Greer was an amazing and accommodating sitter. This was my first time leaving my pup overnight on Rover. She gave me great updates and pictures. My dog was so comfortable and happy in her home. The love she showed Dulce gave me peace of mind. I would absolutely book again and recommend her to everyone!”

“Awesome sitter! Sent pictures without needing to request them and I loved the constant updates, great communicater☺️ The dogs came back very happy❤️ Definitely a dog sitter that I will be using again!”

“Cindy was great! She sent photo updates and made sure my dog got her meds. So glad my little one got some individualized attention, as opposed to just being one 30+ dogs in a daycare/boarding kennel.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hilton Head Island
Karen is the BEST! Our King Charles Spaniel, Sophie, loves staying with her. We actually change our vacation dates so that Karen can keep her!! She's THAT GOOD!! Karen takes her for walks and bike rides, goes to the beach and plays with her. Sophie knows right where the bikes are and ran downstairs to show Karen it was time to go out and enjoy the beach. Sophie is very social and loved all the attention Karen gave her. She was brushed and Sophie's things were together and ready when we came to get her.

I had a wonderful experience with this dog sitter! She kept me updated every day with pictures and messages about how my dog was doing, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that my dog was well cared for and loved while I was away. I highly recommend her services and would happily book with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
