“Alexa is the absolute best!! She was very transparent and communicative and took such great care of our Finley ❤️. Every photo and video we received, our pup was smiling ear to ear. Even when there was a small house-related crisis (suspected water leak), she calmed our anxiety while we were out of town and handled it with ease and professionalism. We are so grateful to have found her and will absolutely be booking again!!!!”

About: As a lifelong cat owner and animal lover, I understand that pets are family and deserve loving, dependable care. I've had cats all my life and have even opened my home and heart to stray cats, helping them receive the care and attention they needed. I have also cared for friends, neighbors and family pets for many years. I currently offer care for cats and small dogs. Whether your pet needs feeding, fresh water, playtime, cuddles, medication (if needed), or simply a friendly face while you're away, I'll treat them with the same kindness and patience I give my own pets. I'm reliable, detail-oriented, and happy to follow your pet's routine to help them feel safe and comfortable. I know every pet has a unique personality, and I take the time to earn their trust while giving you peace of mind. I know how hard it can be to leave your pets behind. My goal is to make sure they feel safe, loved and cared for while giving you peace of mind through regular updates and photos. I look forward to meeting you and your beloved pets! I am available early mornings, after 4 pm on weekdays and weekends to care for your cats and small dogs. I am also available for overnight stays in your home. I am a trusted, reliable pet caretaker and will treat your pets like my own. I am detail oriented and will follow all instructions and send frequent updates. I primarily serve the areas of Hilton Head Island and Bluffton neighborhoods.
“Gabriela did a wonderful job caring for our two dogs and one cat over a long weekend. She tended to each of their unique needs and provided frequent updates throughout the weekend. We felt secure knowing that Gabriela was caring for our pets and our home while we were away. And, our home was very clean when we returned. She did a fantastic job caring for our gang!”

“This was the first time we used Rover and Chelsea. Chelsea went above and beyond to take care of our Rosy. She was punctual, kept communication open and sent pics along the way. We have another trip in June and have Chelsea lined up to stay again. I would recommend her to anyone looking for an in house sitter.”

About: From a young age I have always been very passionate about animals and began a small business where I provided neighbors and family friends with in home pet sitting, walks, and visits. I have lots of previous experience with animals who have intensive dietary restrictions and medication needs. I am qualified and confident to care for any pets with unique needs and/or circumstances. I have serviced dogs and pets of all sizes and breeds. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting your furry friends. I work Monday through Friday from 9 AM–5 PM, but I am able to provide pet care before work, after work, and throughout the weekends. About: Hi, I’m Tiffany! 🐾 I’m a lifelong dog lover and a Hilton Head Island native who truly can’t imagine life without dogs in it. Growing up here has given me a deep connection to this community, and I love being able to care for the pets of the people who call Hilton Head home. Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and caring for them is something I genuinely love. I have experience with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and personalities from tiny pups under 20 lbs to large breeds over 100 lbs. I’ve learned that every dog is unique, and I love taking the time to understand their individual routines, needs, and personalities so they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. Whether your pup needs a fun walk, a drop in visit, companionship while you’re away, or extra patience and attention, I provide the same loving care I would want for my own pets. I’m dependable, attentive, and treat every dog like family. I know how hard it can be to leave your fur child, so I make it a priority to keep you updated with photos, messages, and little moments throughout our time together so you can have peace of mind knowing your dog is happy and well cared for. My goal is simple: for your dog to feel loved, safe, and cared for while you’re away. 🐶❤️ I’m currently working part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule to care for your pups! Whether you’re at work or away on vacation, I’d love to give your dog the attention, exercise, and love they deserve 🐶 I provide care in your pet’s familiar environment, where they feel most comfortable. I treat every home with the same respect and care I would want for my own, while making sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for. I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine, keep their space clean, provide fresh water, and tidy up after playtime or visits. I also love sending updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your fur baby is happy and cared for while you’re away 🐾
“Charlotte was marvelous with our little Henry and Ron. With her daily photos and regular updates we felt so comfortable leaving them with her. Her attention to detail and encouraging messages were especially appreciated”

“Christine was fabulous with her week stay with our dog Harper. She communicated often and I was highly confident in how she would take care of our fur baby. She went above and beyond to wash the linens and our house was spotless. We be booking with Christine again!”

About: I have a Dog of my own name little Sammy. I’m used to taken care of Labrador and retrievers. I also feel more comfortable taken care of bigger dogs than smaller dog due to the fact that’s usually what I’ve taken care of. I try to go for running or the dog park at least once daily and take them out for walks at least three times a day. We usually eat in the morning, lunch and dinner and sometimes I provide treats. Sammy loves playing with dogs and it’s supper friendly for when I have dogs over. I’ve had dogs my whole entire life since I could remember. Always remember dog loves you more than they love themselves so treat them kindly and love them unconditionally. I currently work from home and my job is flexible. I also have a dog that needs daily walks, take him to the park and daily food. So, I’m used to doing pet care on a daily basis. I live in an apartment with minimum furniture so dogs can be safe with no worries. I also have a balcony with metal railing for railing.
About: I've been the go-to pet sitter for friends and family for years, and I genuinely love it. I've cared for dogs of all ages — including a senior dog I looked after for a full month while his owners traveled internationally — and cats during weekend trips, checking in regularly for feeding, playtime, and company. As a former project manager, I'm naturally detail-oriented and reliable, so I'll follow your care instructions to the letter. I also work from home, so pets get consistent attention throughout the day, and I'm completely comfortable staying overnight to keep their routine as normal as possible. Whether it's a senior dog needing extra care, a younger pup with energy to burn, or a cat who just wants company, I treat every pet like my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I work from home and my schedule is flexible enough that I can work from anywhere. That means I'm not squeezing in a quick visit before rushing off to an office — I'm around throughout the day for feeding times, walks, potty breaks, and playtime. If I'm staying overnight in your home, I can simply bring my work with me and keep my normal routine going while giving your pet consistent attention morning, noon, and night. Pets aren't an interruption to my day — they're part of it. When I'm in a client's home, I follow their routine as closely as possible — feeding schedules, walk times, medications, and any specific instructions they leave me. For overnight stays or boarding, I settle in just like I would in my own home, so pets have consistent company, playtime, and comfort throughout the day and night rather than being left alone for long stretches. For drop-in visits, I make sure each visit covers everything needed — food, water, a bathroom break, and some one-on-one attention — and I check the home to make sure everything is secure before I leave. Regardless of the service, I treat your home and your pet with the same care and respect I'd want for my own, and I'm happy to send photo or text updates so you can relax and enjoy your time away.
About: Hey everyone! I have been around animals my whole life, they’ve always been a huge part of who I am. I’ve cared for my own dogs and helped friends and family with theirs, so I’m super comfortable with all kinds of pups, especially big dogs haha. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like they’re my own—with lots of love, attention, and care. Whether you need walks, drop-ins, or just someone reliable to help out, I’ve got you! I currently work part-time, so my availability may vary depending on my schedule. I’m still happy to help with dog walking and pet care when I’m available and will always communicate ahead of time to find times that work best. 🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I pay close attention during walks, make sure pets stay secure on their leash, and follow any specific instructions you provide. I treat every pet with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I give my own dog so you can feel confident they’re in good hands.
About: I have experience with several breeds of dogs. I currently own a rottweiler (my second!) so no dog is too big or too small! I am a homemaker so I am very flexible! I have been an island resident for 20 years and a dog owner all my life! I am a homemaker and self employed. If needed, I do most of my work for my husband in the mornings. My afternoons are very flexible! I will follow the instructions you provide. I know most clients are peculiar about where their leashes are stored, whether their pup gets a treat before/after their walk, etc.

About: I have been dog sitting for over 5 years, and have worked in a dog daycare/boarding facility. I am comfortable with dogs of all ages, temperaments, and medical needs! I currently work part time which will give me ample time to take care of your pup! I do have a kitten in home but he has been around dogs before so he is comfortable around other animals! I live in an apartment but I can do frequent leash let outs. We are in a great neighborhood with sidewalks and space to go on walks.
“Morganne is very experienced and was great with our pups! She was communicative and provided updates and plenty of photos throughout the stay. Would definitely use her services again!”

About: Dear families: We like to embrace the initial dog vacay/rover purpose: to have your TINY furry baby go to a family home to feel loved while away from home! This is a family home, not a boarding place, so our spaces are very limited. Since we take SMALL BREEDS ONLY we are experts on their personality trends (nervousness, separation anxiety, fears, etc), and understand their needs at different stages in life: puppies, senior dogs, disabled dogs. we ONLY accept dogs under 15 pounds, no exemption, and I never have more than three, or four tiny visitors at a time to maximize care and one-on-one time. We make sure our guests have a peaceful and restful time, if their health or age demands it. Or simply said, you may not want your precious 4 pounds furry baby being squeezed by a 70 pounds massive visitor while playing outside! I work from home, so there will always be some one at home to love on your precious babies. ——— I have had dogs my entire life. I grew up with a Saint Bernard, a cocker spaniel, a mini-poodle, a beautiful bunny (she always thought she was a dog, and we never told her the truth! she would come running to the door to greet you, she responded to her name and slept on our beds). I also had cats and birds. All at the same time! Nowadays, I'm happily married, and have two very responsible teenage boys, who also happen to love animals! My husband is an excellent trainer (by nature though, not as a career), and an incredible Alfa male. We have two lovely shitzu family members, Snickers and Lucy. Our puppies are loving, well behaved, house broken, and very playful. We specialize in puppies' care (under a year old), and at any age prefer non-agresive and well behaved dogs. We live in a beautiful large house, with a fenced in yard and many separate areas. Our guests will get plenty of love, exercise, sun, space and fun. We sleep with our puppies in our bedrooms so we are eager to accommodate our guests as part of our family. We do not crate our dogs neither yours, unless requested by you. We take daily pictures and send reports about our guests. Most of our guests are repeated, and very much loved! Rover has helped us create an extended family among all of us, pet lovers, it’s amazing! Before our seven years registered with dog vacay/rover we have cared for our friends' and neighbors' dogs for many years. We also provide oral medication, or special treatments when needed. We can Skype or FaceTime with you to give you peace of mind during your time away. IMPORTANT NOTE: I have severe back problems because of a car accident, so please don’t lie about your baby’s weight on the request; if he or she is over 15 pounds, I will have to reject the service at drop off, without a refund. Thank you for your understanding. General regulations: All animals must be current on all shots, free of any contagious diseases, on flea/tick prevention and we don't host intact adult dogs. I work at home and enjoy my guests' company. I usually start my day by 7am or earlier when needed and set to work by 8am. We will hang out around the house, and play outdoors as each guest requires. Usually I take breaks from the computer each hour and I get my babies outside to play for a few minutes. I have a fenced in yard and I never let the dogs outside alone without supervision. My home is very calm and safe and puppies as well as older dogs can rest or play as much as they need. I have several spaces around the house to enjoy restful sunny mornings or afternoons. Or to simply chill under the blankets to watch a movie together in the afternoon. We prefer calm, friendly, trained dogs. I don’t accept aggressive dogs at any time.

About: I have always had pets , they were part of our lives. I loved them and always took care of them especially taking them to Vet visits. I’m working part time, selling fences. Once I get the opportunity with Rover I would like to do it full time if possible, I love being with Pets . I have a fenced yard and a Dog park , that is walking distance from my house . I also have separate rooms for all pets comfort .
“Emily was great! She came to our camper while we were on vacation for our excursion day. And we felt 100% confident everything would be taken care of after our little meet and greet day. If we were ever back in the Keys we wouldn't hesitate to book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Hilton Head Island
Jillian is such a wonderful pet sitter. She is easy going, very communicative, and was always upbeat and smiling when we spoke and when I met her in person. She is quick to respond and sent sweet pup updates. It was so reassuring to know my dogs were in good hands, being this was the first time I used Rover. I could tell from the moment my two dogs met her, that they would love her. She was even kind enough to let my two smothering labradors sleep in the same bed with her. My two young labs can be a handful and she seemed to have navigated her time with them beautifully. We will definitely use Jillian and her services in the future.

Kimberly was wonderful with our 2 spoiled goldendoodles. She played with them, kept them company and kept us well informed with pictures and updates. We had a worry-free trip and when we arrived home all was clean and ready for us to relax. We definitely would ask her again when the situation arises.

Morgan was the best! She took such great care of Hank and Wednesday and kept us updated the whole time. She was super sweet and communicated effectively throughout. Our HVAC broke right before our trip, and she was incredibly flexible — even watching the dogs at my boyfriend’s parents’ place to keep them comfortable. We’ll definitely be using her for all our future pet-sitting needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hilton Head Island on Rover is $52.43 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 600 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hilton Head Island. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hilton Head Island walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hilton Head Island maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hilton Head Island choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hilton Head Island. On Rover:
- 87% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
