“Arden was great taking care of our dogs and cat. She stayed in the nighttime to ensure that our dogs were ok and not in need of emergency potty situations that can sometimes occur. She walked the dogs, sent pics and they were all happy and fine when we got home. House was great and everything went smoothly! Using her again the end of the month!”

“Emily was the BEST! We have an older dog and a puppy who is still adjusting to our home, learning good behavior, and working on potty training, so we knew he could be a lot for a sitter. Emily did an amazing job taking care of both of our dogs! She kept us updated throughout each day and sent us lots of videos. Before she left, she washed all the sheets & towels, made the bed, and did the dishes! I could not have asked for a better sitter to watch our boys. I would recommend her to everyone! Thank you again, Emily!”

“My babies were all so happy when I got home! They were clearly loved and cared for, which is not always easy with three dogs and a (mean) cat. It was so nice getting updates from Kaitlyn and having peace of mind for the time I was away. She stayed in my house for a week and was so respectful of our space you’d never know she was even here (except for the aforementioned happy and healthy babies!) Will be booking her again!”

“Shelby was a fabulous house and pet sitter.. My dog instantly loved her, and she was great at keeping me updated on things. I’m so glad to find her and can’t wait to use her again.”

“So sweet and thoughtful with my 4 boys! Lots of great photos and communication. The house was left neat and tidy, no accidents, animals were really chill after a first stay with a new person. And she even left the tv on bluey for them. Would recommend and book again.”

“McKenzie was great! She loved on Wren and sent pics and updates throughout the weekend. She was very accommodating as we have a high energy dog that needs 2 long walks a day and can’t be left alone for too long. We can’t wait to use her again.”

“Sara provided excellent care for our two dogs while we were away. She checked in the day before we left to confirm and also after we returned to ensure all was well and that we had arrived at our confirmed time. We appreciated receiving pictures and updates during our trip. We will definitely use her again.”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and caring for them has always been a big part of who I am. While my current work schedule doesn’t allow me to have a dog of my own right now, I still have plenty of time, energy, and love to give. I treat every dog as if they were my own and make sure they feel safe, cared for, and happy. Pet care fits perfectly into my routine! I work as an ER nurse 3–4 days a week, which gives me several flexible days off to dedicate to caring for pets. On my off days, I have plenty of availability for walks, drop-ins, or extended care. I just ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so I can confirm my schedule and make sure I give your pup the time and attention they deserve. I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and the specific service requested. In a client’s home, I stick closely to your pet’s normal routine — including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and lots of affection. I make sure they feel safe and comfortable in their familiar environment. If caring for a pet in my home, I provide a clean, calm, and safe space with plenty of supervision, exercise, and attention. I follow your instructions closely to keep routines consistent and stress-free. Communication is very important to me, so I always provide updates and photos for peace of mind.
“Cara is awesome. My dog had a health problem while I was away and Cara smoothly managed specialized care including wound care and medication administration. She has excellent communication skills. My dog is always happy to see her. I have used Cara’s services before and plan on continuing to do so.”
“Had a great experience! Alexis was very patient with our nervous dogs and gave all of them a lot of attention! We received a lot of feedback and pictures. Will definitely be using them again!”

About: Hi there! I’m Sidney! A lifelong animal lover with more than 15 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages, personalities, and needs. My own little family includes 1 dog and 3 cats, so I truly understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your pets. I have a special soft spot for senior dogs and special-needs cats, and I’m experienced in providing patient, attentive care tailored to each pet’s comfort level and routine. Whether your pet needs a slower-paced walk, extra encouragement, medication support, or mobility accommodations, I’m committed to making them feel safe, loved, and stress-free. Safety and trust are my top priorities when caring for someone else’s pets. I treat every animal as if they were my own and pay close attention to leash safety, body language, routines, and individual needs. I’ll always keep you updated so you can feel confident your pet is in capable hands. Walks are one of my favorite parts of pet care! Whether your pup enjoys a relaxed neighborhood stroll, a sniff-filled adventure, or a more active outing, I’ll make sure they get the exercise, enrichment, and attention they deserve at a pace that’s right for them. I’d love to get to know you and your pets and create a care routine that keeps them happy, healthy, and comfortable! I currently work part-time, and I'm usually home around 3-4 pm for all of your dogs' evening needs. I work downtown, which allows me to walk to your home as soon as I'm off work. I love going on hot girl walks with my own pup and would enjoy meeting and becoming BFFs with your dogs so we can go on all the hot girl walks together! I care for pets in their home by keeping their routine as consistent, comfortable, and stress-free as possible. Whether that means walks, playtime, feeding, medications, or lots of cuddles, I tailor my care to each pet’s individual needs and personality. Safety and trust are extremely important to me, and I always treat both pets and homes with the same care and respect I would my own.

About: I’ve cared for dogs overnight for weeks at a time, including large, active breeds that need plenty of exercise and attention. I love being outdoors, so I’m always happy to take dogs on long walks, play with them, and keep them on their normal routine. I work from home, which allows me to provide consistent companionship and supervision throughout the day, so your pet won’t be left alone for long periods. As a nanny, I’m experienced in keeping homes clean, organized, and well cared for. I’m happy to help with household tasks while you’re away, such as bringing in mail, taking out the trash, or keeping everything tidy. I’m also a big plant lover with my own houseplants and garden, so if you have indoor plants, flowers, or a garden that needs watering and care, I’d be more than happy to look after those too. My goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel comfortable, knowing they’re receiving reliable, loving care while you’re away. I currently work from home doing freelance social media while I figure out my next career move, so I have a very flexible schedule and can be around for most of the day. That means I can give pets plenty of attention, keep them on their normal routine, take dogs on walks or potty breaks, and make sure they have lots of company and care while you’re away. When I’m caring for pets in your home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal as possible. I’ll follow any instructions you leave, whether that’s feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, or house rules. I know every pet is different, so I’ll always respect your preferences and care for your home as if it were my own. I want you to feel comfortable knowing your pets and home are in good hands while you’re away.

“Jennifer was amazing! I was very nervous about leaving our baby with someone we didn't know since she is deaf, but she had so much fun. Jennifer kept me updated with pictures and video. Just the best experience. Thank you Jennifer. Could not have asked for it to have gone any better. Highly recommend. ?????”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Savannah
She was simply amazing. She went above and beyond, not just for caring for our sweet Watson but for being in our home too. She took exceptional care of everything! We had to leave our pup for the longest stretch to date, and he couldn’t have been in better hands. We got daily photo updates and Watson got someone who genuinely loved and cared for him! He has not stopped playing with the new toys she so generously gifted him. I know he misses her so much!

We had a wonderful experience with Emily! She stayed at our home for a week with our geriatric dog (13 years old) and our 6-month-old high energy Vizsla puppy and took amazing care of both. She sent plenty of timely updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. We came home to two happy dogs and a spotless house! I am absolutely going to book her again and highly recommend her!

It was SO nice of Blanca to come out to our house weeks before our booking so that she could meet Guster (and us!) and get the lay of the land. We are SO appreciative of her communication during her stay. We are SO happy to have found Blanca and will plan to have her stay with Gus from now on, if she is available.

We couldn’t have asked for a better pup sitter! Zena and Birdie were so happy, playful, and relaxed when we got home, which told us they had a great time and were very well cared for. She truly went above and beyond, providing regular updates, sending plenty of photos, and being extremely responsive throughout our trip. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our pups were in such good hands. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive sitter! 🐾💕

Katie was wonderful!! She was on time to sit with my dog Emma at our location and she sent us updates and photos throughout each session. Emma my dog, was a little nervous on this trip but she instantly took to Katie. When we returned each day from our excursions, Emma was happy and relaxed. 😊 I will definitely book Katie again, next time I’m in Savannah!!

Thomas was absolutely wonderful to work with. He sent a bunch of photos and videos didn't hesitate to reach out with questions. This was our first time using Rover. We were a bit nervous to leave Seuss with someone we didn't know well, but, after this experience, I'm pretty sure Seuss would prefer we leave town again soon for more time with Thomas lol

Chandler was fantastic. You can immediately tell she’s a true animal lover and genuinely cares about the dogs she watches. She was incredibly flexible and gracious with her time, especially on such short notice, and ended up spending nearly 5 hours with our dog while we had to step out for work meetings and events. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring, and we hope we have the opportunity to work with her again the next time we’re back in town. Thanks again, Chandler!

FAQs for House Sitting - Savannah
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Savannah on Rover is $49.95 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 613 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Savannah. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Savannah walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Savannah maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Savannah choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Savannah. On Rover:
- 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
