Thank you, Anna! Very trustworthy, with quick responses and lots of pictures. Our pittie, Yoshi, appreciated the several long walks a day and all the cuddles. Anna watched Yoshi and our cat, Jane, in our home and was very respectful and left the house spotless as well. We will definitely be a repeat customer of hers!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats for over 20 years and have experience with pets of all ages and personalities. As a longtime pet owner, I understand how important routines, patience, and plenty of love are to keeping pets happy and comfortable while their families are away. I’m experienced with feeding schedules, walks, playtime, administering oral medications, and giving extra attention to pets who may be shy or anxious. I treat every animal as if they were my own and will provide updates and lots of care so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I’m home most of the day and have a flexible schedule. I work from home and can do my work remotely. I can provide morning, afternoon, and evening visits, walks, feeding, playtime, medication administration if needed, and plenty of love and attention. I understand how important consistency is for pets and will do my best to keep them on their normal routine while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow your instructions carefully, keep pets securely leashed or contained as directed, and respect their routines and boundaries. In your home, I’ll maintain a calm, clean environment and make sure your pet feels safe and loved. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

Emily was the BEST! We have an older dog and a puppy who is still adjusting to our home, learning good behavior, and working on potty training, so we knew he could be a lot for a sitter. Emily did an amazing job taking care of both of our dogs! She kept us updated throughout each day and sent us lots of videos. Before she left, she washed all the sheets & towels, made the bed, and did the dishes! I could not have asked for a better sitter to watch our boys. I would recommend her to everyone! Thank you again, Emily!

About: I've taken care of all kinds of dogs since I was 10 years old. I have a Maltese, a Jack Russell, and a Pit Bull. All three of them are seniors, and I make sure they are comfortable and adjusting to aging. I am also well-versed in puppy care and have taken care of dogs of all ages, kept them entertained, and made sure they were happy. I am currently an online English tutor, so I will have plenty of time to take care of your babies. My weeks are structured, but I have flexibility. I make sure my pets are safely secured on their leashes before every walk. That they have what they need: water, treats, and doggie bags for cleanup. Making sure there are no electrical cords or anything else they could chew on. Double-checking they have food and water and are comfortable.

About: I’ve grown up having pets my whole life, having a senior black lab with an orthopedic disability taught me a lot about patience. I became a pro at medication administration for just about any size pet having pet sit for friends in the past, and I’m always willing to deep clean a litter box! I’m currently available any hours on any day! I’m willing to work with you on any routine that will best accommodate you and your furry family members! I prefer to have very specific instructions on how I can best support you and care for your pet as you would normally care for them yourself!

Joshua did a great job with my 2 dogs, and 11 month old Dalmation puppy, and a 7 year old Hungarian Pumi. He went above and beyond when I did not arrive home when I told him I would be there...( flight delays) Joshua stayed until 1:30 am to make sure the dogs would be OK . The dogs really seemed to enjoy him and were sorry to see him go! I can highly recommend him!

Ashley is absolutely fantastic and took the best care of our dogs while we were gone for a week. We were overly anxious to have a new house sitter since moving to Savannah, but she put our minds at ease from the first meeting. One of our pups is a little difficult to warm up to people but he absolutely loved her and was giving her tons of kisses by the end of the week. She sent us worried pet parents updates every day with a message and photos that warmed our hearts. For dog/house sitting, we won’t trust anyone else!

Lauren was the best sitter we have ever experienced! One of our dogs is a special needs rescue and is incredibly shy and scared of everything. Lauren was so patient with her and was able to break through the initial barrier. Happy doesn't even describe how we feel about it. Lauren has got a gift, y'all! It was SUCH a relief to know that all four of our fur babes were well cared for and very comfortable while we were gone for an entire week. Lauren provided us with a regular stream of texts, pictures and videos that clearly showed how comfortable our pets were with her. Not only that, we came home to a tidy house! Book her now, she is worth every penny! 🐾

Madysen gave my fur babies comfort & lots of love as I wasn't able to take them with me on my vacation with my grandson. She monitored Mitzi 's ear as in gets infected easily. She played with them. She even let them sleep with her to prevent any sadness. Dandy got the belly rubs he loves. Rascal the cat even got some attention & neck scratches. I've been approved for return care so they must have behaved well enough... LoL. Thanks bunches Madysen.

Tim is awesome! I’ve used many sitters through Rover and Tim is the best! This is the 2nd time he has watched my 4 dogs and chickens at my house. He feeds them and spends a great deal of time with them. He also goes above and beyond by sweeping my floors and washing the bedding in my guest bedroom he slept in. It’s nice going on vacation and not having to worry. It’s also great coming home from vacation to happy dogs and a clean house.

Juliana did an amazing job for us, she house sat our home and our two cats. Juliana arrived as scheduled and provided many cute pictures of our pets proving that they were getting along very well and being well cared for. It was obvious that they connected with her right away and looked forward to her time with them. She respected our home, leaving it exactly as we left it. We will be reaching out to Juliana again next time we need a sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Pooler

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Pooler on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 616 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Pooler. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Pooler walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Pooler maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Pooler choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Pooler. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
