“Kaelyn was amazing! She gave Benne a safe place to stay while we went away for the holidays. She and her family loved him like he was theirs, even their dog Leo loved Benne. She sent regular pictures and videos so we wouldn't miss him too much. We will definitely use her again!”

“Selena was extremely communicative, flexible, and supportive during the coordination of our doxies’ stay. We received updates and photos of our two girls and felt comfortable and confident the whole stay. Thanks Selena!”

About: I’ve taken in two dogs from the shelter and trained both of them myself. I focus on giving each dog personalized care based on their personality and needs. I’m good with puppies and older dogs, since I have both. If a dog likes a slower pace, I’ll pay extra attention to that and slow down for them. I am currently home every day throughout the week, so I am able to fit your pets into whatever schedule you may need. I can come by and let dogs out multiple times a day or just stop by for a walk. I’m also able to watch your pup for days at a time if needed. I have a fenced-in yard and two dogs that get along very well with dogs of any size. They are both male, under 55 pounds, and neutered. I’m also able to crate your dog if needed, and I have a decently large crate available.
“Gabriella was fantastic. She sent pictures several times a day, communication about drop off and pick up was great, they have a huge yard for play and running, and our pup loved her time with Gabriella. I would highly recommend.”

“Alexandra and her family were great! I felt like the worst dog mom for forgetting to check in on my boys while on vacation but she sent me pictures without asking and we very much appreciated it! She also kept up with our pups tedious medication schedule. Will leave my pups with them again!”

“We met Karen when we arrived in Hilton Head for vacation. Taking quite a chance, but coming from a hurricane-decimated area, there were no other options for care. We are SO GLAD that we found Karen. She was fantastic and our 14yo labradoodle had (almost) a more fun vacation than us! We had great communication. She optimized his feeding with a raised platform, non-skid rug, and got him to eat. And, she sent lots of pictures where we could tell Sam was truly happy. He was snuggled on their sofa, curled up with lots of toys she had, or playing on the beach. It's clear Karen loves dogs and takes great care with our furbabies. Don't hesitate - book her right away. I know she's at the top of our list!”

“Emily's care was perfect for our pooch over a long weekend. This was our first time boarding with Emily and we wouldn't hesitate for future trips. We received pictures every day and dropoff/pickup was easy. Really good overall experience.”

“I chose Edra to watch Ollie because every single review she had was perfect, and that’s exactly the experience Ollie got when he stayed with her during my work trip - perfect! She’s very sweet, made Ollie feel at home, and catered to his quirks and needs just like I would have at home. I highly recommend Edra to watch your dog and will absolutely call on her again in the future!”

“Martina provided such a warm and loving home for Ollie while we were away! She made my anxiety-prone pup feel right at home and I really appreciated the daily updates and pictures. We look forward to having Ollie stay with Martina again in the future.”

“I left my 2 year old lab Belle with Julie and Chris so we could go on our family vacation for one week. At the meet and greet Julie asked all the necessary questions on how to take care of Belle. Belle and Parma were instant friends at the meet and greet! I feel lucky to have found such nice people to take care of Belle in our neighborhood. I received daily updates on Belle pictures and videos. I highly recommend Julie and Chris they are true dog people!!!”

“John and Miriam were as professional as it gets. They treated my dog Zeus as if he were their own puppy. We received updates and check ins throughout his stay and we felt extremely comfortable with our dogs care with them. Zeus returned to us happy and refreshed. Thank you again!”

“If I could give 10 stars I would! We left our Sullivan with Ashley and her family! They loved him like their own, took him to the dog park, played with him - sent pictures daily. She even got him a gift when he left. 1000% will be using her again and recommending her to all my friends looking to board!”

“Julie and her family watched my Siberian husky Maggie for two nights. Julie let me know how she was doing and provided photo updates. Maggie seemed to have a great time with the other dogs and loved the attention from the kids. If we ever need a sitter again while in SC, I would definitely contact Julie!”

About: I have been a pet owner my whole life as well as an animal lover! I have volunteered at shelters as well as adopted 2 rescue dogs. I have really been around every breed and behavior. I’m available most weekends with open availability. My schedule is fairly flexible during the week and make it open if need be for your convenience. I have had a 70lb dog and currently have a 56lb dog. I’m good with harnesses and leashes for all size dogs! I also have had multiple dogs on daily medication so very well versed in giving medication too.
About: I have had a blue nosed pitbull since I was 8 years old. As many dog owners know pitbulls are very hard to train and take care of. My dog is extremely well trained and is the calmest pitbull I have ever met. Growing up I have been surrounded by many pets and animals in general including mainly ducks, fish, turtles and cats. Animals are my pride and joy and I will always love spending time with them!! I currently work part-time as an esthetician, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability to provide reliable pet care throughout the week. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and love making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply keeping them company, I’m happy to dedicate my free time to giving pets the attention and care they deserve!! I follow a consistent routine to ensure pets receive the care, structure, and attention they need. My own dog is fed and walked every morning at 7:00 a.m. and every afternoon at 3:00 p.m., which helps maintain her health and a consistent daily schedule. I always make sure she has access to fresh water and pay close attention to her cues when she needs to go outside or needs anything else. I have experience caring for a large, strong pit bull, so I am comfortable handling bigger dogs on walks and can confidently manage them on a leash. My dog was born with nerve damage, so I also have experience adapting care to meet a pet’s individual needs. I encourage safe, appropriate play and exercise to keep her active and healthy while always prioritizing her comfort and well-being. I would provide every pet in my care with the same level of patience, attention, and personalized care.

“This was the first time we gave our Archie up in our new location. We were very apprehensive however Genia was awesome. Archie seem to feel right at home with her and her dogs, so much so, I think our dog is suffering from doggy depression (joke) since he is again at home. Genia updated us daily on his progress and his well being, which eased our separation anxiety while away in Europe. Highly recommended and will used by us again in the future.”

“Madison kept my English Cocker for a week while I had Drs appointments in S FL and although Kelly can’t talk (my dog) I know she had a good time and Madison kept me informed and accommodated my needs above and beyond the call. My Kelly is “low maintenance”…I am “high” and Madison rolled with it and made us both smile. The best!!! SB”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Port Royal
Autumn and her family took great care of our pups over the Independence holiday. We moved from out of state, so this was our dogs’ first time staying with a new family, after years of staying with the same family. Autumn paid attention to all the instructions about each of our dogs, especially our one who doesn’t like loud noises (fireworks). We would definitely use her again to watch our two Aussies.

Erin and her family were marvelous! She came through for me at the last minute the first time for a five day stretch with my 15 year old dog. This time it was three days and he was just as happy as the first. He was well loved, fed, walked , and catered to, as I spoil him, and so did she. I don’t go often but when I do, I will make sure to take my boy back to her!!!! Thank you.

Bill was wonderful. I have never left Daisy with anyone except my Dad, and was worried about how she would do. Bill sent reports and pictures daily and Daisy seemed very comfortable and content. I was happy that he did walks and doggie park. She had some issues with accidents and he was great at problem solving. I would recommend him to anyone. It was clear from the very beginning that she liked him....and didn't even look back at me as he led her inside. Definitely check his availability.
Caroline was awesome to work with! She took great care of our dog at her place for a 5-night trip. She was super responsive, which made it easy for us to set everything up, as well as while we were gone. She was very receptive to whatever we wanted for our dog and sent us updates and photos every day. She clearly loves dogs and ours had such a great time with her!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
