“Tom is great. He always does a great job and is super friendly. He has been a lifesaver for us. We were in a pinch and found out we needed to leave town and he was so accommodating and we truly appreciate him. Highly recommend.”

“Pat was wonderful! She loved my babies and kept us up to date on how they were doing. I trust her and would highly recommend her to others. We will definitely be using Pat again on our next trip!”

“William took wonderful care of my cat, Julius. Everyday, I received picture updates and in each picture, Julius looked thrilled to have William hanging out with him. He made sure food, water, and litter was kept full and clean, and provided lots of TLC to Julius. I highly recommend William!”
About: In my life, I have cared for nine dogs, one cat, two snakes, and a hedgehog. I find pets to be one of the greatest things about life and I love them dearly. Friends and family have asked me to pet sit since I was 14 and it's always been my favorite thing. I am currently a full-time student Monday through Thursday but with mostly online work so I will be available every weekday for about 4-6hrs each day, longer on the weekend. Unable to care for pets in my own home as I have my own cat that does not get along with most other pets however, I am able to care for your pets in your home any way that is needed including things like frequent potty breaks, mess clean up, daily walks, and plenty of play or nap time. I am more than willing to adjust to you and your pets needs.
“Another stress-free visit from Mikelah! She does such an amazing job and it’s nice to know that your pup is being well cared for while you’re away from home. I’ve used her for multiple drop-in visits now and I only have glowing reviews to share. Will definitely use her again in the future.”

“Thank you so much, Courtney, for being so accommodating and flexible! I had some work-related issues and needed to move appointments around - I really appreciated how understanding you were regarding these changes!!! Thank you for taking care of my babies while I was away and making sure that they are well without me here!”

“Claudia always takes great care of my dogs while I'm away. I can tell my pups are happy when she visits them and she keeps me updated with cute photos and videos. Thanks Claudia!”

“I have five fur babies, three are totally comfortable with sitters, but two are adopted puppies who came from abusive situations. Even at two years old and with training, they are still very hesitant around new people. Samuel has been incredibly patient, taking the time to meet with them multiple times and working at their pace to help them feel safe and comfortable, especially knowing he’ll be pet sitting for a full week. He has been gracious, calm, and understanding in every interaction, and his positive outlook toward the dogs—even with their standoffish nature—has meant so much to me. It’s clear he truly cares about animals and understands their individual needs. I would 100% recommend Samuel for any pet sitting or drop-in visits and feel completely confident leaving my pets in his care.”

“Emilie did a fantastic job of caring for our cats Cooper and CJ while we were gone. She was extra patient with our blind 16 year old kitty who requires a little extra attention and medication. She arrived as scheduled, followed all our instructions, and the cats seemed very happy when we got home. I recommend Emilie and would not hesitate to use her again.”

“Luna Lu loves being spoiled by her pet sitter! I feel so comfortable now when I have to leave her knowing she is in good hands. Kristin has been amazing!!”

“Allison was great! I booked her very last minute, and she still made time to come over to do a greet and meet. She’s clearly a dog lover, and our pups instantly fell in love with her. And very affordable rates! 10/10 would rebook in the future!”

“Jenna was an absolutely lovely sitter to our little Pearl, who liked her a lot and took to her from the get-go. She’s very professional yet friendly, very responsible, and reliable. We hope to keep working with her in any other occasion we might need Pearl taken care of, as we’re extremely pleased with her.”

“Matt was awesome! He was super communicative about how our pets were doing and was able to come at the last minute when our previously scheduled sitter had an emergency.”

About: For years I have dog sat for family, friends and coworkers. I just love pets, I’m kind of crazy about them. I’m looking to expand my doggie adventures with nice walks and plenty of exercise. I’m also available for drop ins and overnight stays. I work near the airport, so I also pet sit in the Stone Oak/Hollywood Park area. I’m currently working full time for an engineering firm, Monday through Friday. I’m available Saturdays and Sundays pretty much all day. I’ll be available a few days during the week, but after 5 pm and maybe during lunch (depending on distance). I won’t be offering boarding services, but I do have three pets. My dog is 7, two cats are 9 and 5. My dog, Sadie Girl, loves taking walks and people watching. So, I will definitely care for your pets as if they were mine.

“Justice is always great with Gizmo and was sure to send me plenty of photos of him during his visit. Gizmo is partial to men and he definitely enjoys Justice's company. Justice makes my nervous boy feel at ease when I am out of town. He is definitely one of the best sitters and one of the few men in my area offering pet sitting services. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs a great sitter! ”
About: I've always had dogs and cats growing up and have been caring for them since I was a tiny human; walking dogs that are bigger than me, bottle feeding a kitten, cleaning up after a litter of puppies, giving old puppers their medicines. I've been responsible for playing, walking, training and feeding the pets of my friends and family for years. I'm comfortable with dogs of any size. I'll be using your preferred cues/commands and plenty of pets/cuddles with your pupper for them to be super comfortable with me. Besides my Shepherd mix that always wants my attention, I have a flexible schedule, giving me plenty of time to walk and play with your dogs! My availability is mostly open, just let me know when I can help. I take detailed notes off your instructions on your home and any special care needs, so, rest assured I'll make sure your dog is always safe and happy.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Hill Country Village
Avrielle did an exceptional job caring for our kitten while we were away. She was reliable, punctual, and followed all of our care instructions perfectly. We were so impressed with the attention and care she provided, from feeding and playing with our kitten to cleaning the litter box. She even went above and beyond by watering our plants while we were gone. Knowing that our kitten was in such caring and capable hands gave us complete peace of mind. We highly recommend Avrielle!

Renee is amazing! This is the second time she has cared for my cats and she is great. Renee does such a great job communicating and sharing updates about the pets, I love all the pictures she sends! I know my cats and home are cared for and safe when Renee is on the job :)

Hannah was great with my cat. He warmed up to her immediately and was great with him while I was gone. I was nervous since it was my first time leaving him overnight, and I was gone for over a week. But he did well under her care. And she went above and beyond by cleaning around his litter box, taking out the litter box's trash when needed, and more. If I need to go on vacation again, I'm glad to know I have someone I can rely on to look after him again.

Being an anxious pet mom, Stormy handles the tasks at hand with my babies while I travel perfectly fine. The check-ins and photos put me at ease. I’m not used to leaving my pup alone but I’ve utilized Stormy twice now while I travel for work and she’s been great.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Hill Country Village. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
