“Julie did awesome! We were a little hesitant as it was our first time using Rover and it was great! She came over beforehand to meet us and our dog. During the stay she was very responsive and sent pictures to give us updates throughout our trip. She even had to administer ear meds and all went well. I'll definitely use her again and would highly recommend her.”

“Will was very attentive to Penny. Checked in on her, fed her at same time everyday and stayed overnight with her. When I came back on Sunday, she was very content, and not stressed at all. I will use Will again.”

“Sarah did a great job with our pups! She took them out on long walks and communicated any questions or issues she faced. She also cleaned up after herself and left our home the way she found it which was greatly appreciated.”

“Kadence is an amazing sitter! I have four adorable fur babies, and they can be quite challenging, but Kadence handled everything with ease. I can't wait to book her again for our pet care needs she's simply the best!”

“Matthew was excellent with our dogs and cats. It was obvious from the second he interacted with our animals that he is an animal lover. We were gone for four days and the house looked exactly the same as when we left- he is very neat and tidy. We got so many pictures of our pets while were gone, and all of the animals adored him. I highly recommend Matthew to watch your furry family members.”

“We recently had Samuel look after our dog in our home while we traveled for a few days. He offered a meet and greet and explained very thoroughly how he’d care for our dog. He listened and asked questions about our dog’s routine to make sure he provides the best care. While we were traveling, we received daily text messages with pictures and updates of our dog. We had a great experience working with Sam, Thank You for taking such amazing care of our dog and home. Mini really enjoyed your company! We will be in contact again!”

“Braydon is an awesome pet sitter! He took great care of our 2 pups and home for 3 weeks! The dogs loved him, and he even helped one of our dogs learn to walk better on a leash. Braydon followed all instructions for taking care of our pets and provided special meal preparation when one of our dogs had some eating issues. He communicated regularly with us and sent lots of pics, which put our minds at ease while we were away. We are so happy to have found Braydon and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone! 😊”

“This was ourfirst experience with Rover and we could not have been more pleased with Madison! She cared for our pets as if they were her own. Prior to her visit, we had a vet emergency and explained the issue and asked her to keep an extra eye out him. Well our pet had the issue come up while away and Madison did such a great job notifying immediately and took to the vet to receive the medical attention. In addition, during her visit, she sent updates on all the other pets. I highly recommend Madison!!”

About: As a lifelong animal lover, I understand that pets are family and deserve attentive, compassionate care while their owners are away. I have experience caring for dogs and cats of various breeds, sizes, and personalities, including energetic puppies, senior pets, and those with special routines. I provide dependable, personalized care tailored to each pet's needs, whether that's daily walks, playtime, feeding, administering medications, or simply offering companionship and affection. I know how important consistency is, so I follow each pet's routine closely to help them feel comfortable and secure. I pride myself on being reliable, patient, and communicative. I'll keep you updated with photos and messages during each visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for. My goal is to treat every pet as if they were my own and provide the same level of love and attention I would want for my own animals. I am retired and currently looking for part-time work doing something I truly enjoy—caring for animals. I have previous dog-sitting experience and genuinely love spending time with dogs of all breeds and sizes. Whether it's going for walks, playing, or simply providing companionship, I am patient, dependable, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owner is away. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I will treat your pet with the same love and attention I would give my own. I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely play and enjoy time outdoors. I have experience pet sitting for family and friends in their homes and understand the importance of maintaining each pet's normal routine. I'm also happy to welcome pets into my home, where they'll receive plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and a safe, comfortable environment while you're away.

“Lauren did a great job taking care of my dog overnight. She was on time, communicated frequently and sent pictures. One of her team members came the next day at noon to take the dog out and make sure he had water. I will let her take ofmy dog anytime.”

About: I have had four dogs over the years along with over 100 fosters over Covid. Even after Covid, we still take in puppies every once in a while, although recently, we just got a new puppy. I am extremely flexible with my schedule currently , and will be for majority of the summer. I don’t mind housesitting and I don’t mind learning new things to take care of different pets. I also have experience with reptiles as I used to have a bearded dragon. Although, sadly, we had to rehome because of his health issues 🥲. I have no permanent job, although I will be taking time over the summer to spend with my family. All I ask is that you give me a heads up on when and where you need me. Two of my current dogs are very low maintenance, as Rusty has gotten older he has gotten arthritis so we go on as many walks as he can tolerate. Austin is the definition of a couch potato. While Isla hates the leash, but we are training her to comfortable with it. I truly believe that your pet is my pet and I will always take the best care of any and all pets I encounter. I truly love animals and look forward to meeting your best friends.
“Jessica took care of our three dogs while we were out of town, and we couldn't be more grateful. From the moment we met her, it was clear she truly loves animals and knows how to handle multiple dogs with care and confidence. Each of our pups has a different personality and set of needs, and Jessica gave them all the attention, exercise, and affection they needed. She kept us updated with messages and adorable photos, which gave us so much peace of mind. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs and a clean house. We highly recommend Jessica to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate, and responsible dog sitter. We'll definitely be booking her again!”

William was an outstanding dog sitter! From the very beginning, he was communicative, reliable, and kept us updated throughout our time away. Knowing our dogs and our home were in such great hands allowed us to truly relax and enjoy our wedding without worrying about our fur babies or the house. The photo updates he sent were an added bonus—they gave us so much peace of mind and were such a joy to receive while we were celebrating. It was clear our pups were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would absolutely recommend William to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!

Sophie was terrific! She was diligent and very loving with our dog Finley. This was the first time we left Finn since we just rescued him 7 mos ago and Sophie helped me feel at ease leaving him in her capable hands. I would definitely recommend her as a dog sitter.

Julie was amazing taking care of our 2 dog while we were away. She communicated extremely well during her stay. We have an elderly dog who needs extra care and meds and she was able to accommodate her needs. She also took care of an unexpected incident (skunk spraying of one of our dogs). We felt very comfortable with her staying in our home and taking care of our pets. We will absolutely use her again.

Jessica was amazing! We’ve never come home to pups that were so chill, we can tell they were loved and cared for while we were away. We got daily updates and pictures of all our babies - even our gecko Mustard. Jessica, thank you for the loving care you gave our extended family while we were out of town.

Denise was fantastic! Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and she kept us updated with messages and photos throughout our trip. When we got home, it was obvious that Chevy had been well loved and well cared for. Knowing he was in such good hands gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We would absolutely book with Denise again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

Kadence was amazing! I was nervous due to the length and time difference of my trip, but Kadence was so great! My cats are happy and relaxed, my apartment tidy, and she was responsive to any messages I sent. I am very happy with the level of care she showed my pets and my place 😊

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Hill Country Village on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,780 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Hill Country Village. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Hill Country Village walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Hill Country Village maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Hill Country Village choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
