âKelsie was the perfect sitter for us! She was extremely professional, our pups loved her, and that was exactly what we were hoping for. She sent photos often, which made us smile and reinforced our decision to work with her. All communication was clear and occurred with perfect frequency. We will most definitely be asking for Kelsie again. She was very respectful of our home and has a great personality. Many thanks from us and of course peanut and Annie đЎâ

âThis was our second time using Angela and still weâre super super happy. She communicated wonderfully and the dogs were so happy when we got home. We are so thankful for her while we were in San Antonio and did not know anyone. I would trust her to watch my dogs again and again.â

âWonderful experience for both our pups and us! Thalia was super responsive, cheery, and the pups really responded well to her even while we were away. Would happily have her house/pet sit for us again.â

âJennifer did amazing. I had a family emergency and need to leave town she responded quickly and jumped right in to house/puppy sit. Within the first few hours, I could tell Winnie was in good hands. I had so much going on I didnât have time to check on her, but I didnât even worry. I knew she was taking care of. Jennifer went above and beyond she took care of my puppy and was respectful of my place. I highly recommend her and I definitely will be choosing her again.â

âLeandra was fantastic! Her communication was excellent and I felt very secure with her watching my dog. She went above and beyond and will definitely book again when I'm out of town.â

âNot only did I have a great time because I knew my big head handsome was taken care of, but I came home to sheets washed, kitchen cleaner than I left it... unexpected delight! Thanks Jada!â

About: I have been an ongoing volunteer at the Animal Defense League of San Antonio since I was about 9 y/o, taking the dogs on walks and socializing the cats and kittens. I have thorough knowledge and experience with raising and fostering kittens, as well as dogs just under 1y/o. I've owned and fostered cats and dogs at varying life stages, throughout my entire life as well. I am well experienced and knowledgeable in animal care and the handling of a myriad of pets and wildlife. While currently also shadowing a very experienced and accredited dog trainer, I am definitely confident in my ability to provide extra care and love for your sweet, fur-babies. Currently, I am in-between jobs, so I as long as I have about a day's heads-up, I'm usually free pretty much any day to care for you furry friend. I perfer to start my work day around afternoon to late afternoon, though morning time isn't a deal-breaker. I want your pet to experience the least amount of stress possible (especially during the first couple visits), so I try to stick to their daily routine as much as I can. For walks, I am quite comfortable walking bigger dogs that may come across as a lot to handle, despite being of a smaller stature. I have experience with training arduous or physically demanding dogs to walk beautifully on the leash also. As for drop-in visits and sitting, I will always stick to the schedule you provide and the safety and well-being of your pet will always be my top priority.
âGessika did a great job taking care of Baxter and Mia. Especially since Mia needs so much encouragemen. She was a trooper when my alarm system went off at 1 AM due to a low battery. It was scary. All of us think Gessika is a a star sitter!â

âLove love love! Jasmine was an angel! She came to sit for us while we were already out of town. We unfortunately did not get to meet her, but our dogs loved her right away. She was sweet to them, sent lots of pics, and went above and beyond the call to make sure our poochies were taken care of. Do not hesitate to hire her.â

âMatt is honestly the BEST & we always love having him watch our pup! He stays at our place for us and does a great job checking in, following our pupâs schedule, and keeping him happy and safe! We will definitely keep using Matt whenever we need a sitter. Thanks again Matt!!!â

âZâle did an amazing job caring for our pups while we were away for our wedding and honeymoon. She watched them for 3 weeks. They had a bit of a hard time adjusting at first, but Zâle comforted them and really took charge of the situation! Absolutely recommend!!â

âSarah watched our dog Bones while we were away for the weekend and did a great job! She came over prior to watching Bones to meet her as well as go over all the basics: food location, key, daily schedule etc. While we were away Sarah kept us posted with pictures through Rover and overall did a great job taking care of our pup!â

About: I've grown up around dogs and currently have three of my own, so caring for them has been part of my daily life for years. I've also dog sat for family and friends, handling feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, and I always prioritize their safety, happiness, and well-being. I'll treat your pet with the same care and attention I give my own, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages during every visit. I'm currently a university student with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. I do my best to accommodate each pet's routine, whether that means morning walks, afternoon visits, or evening check-ins. I'm happy to communicate with owners to find a schedule that works best for both them and their pets. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions provided by owners and make sure pets stay on their normal routine. I'll always keep doors, gates, and leashes secure, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and send regular photo and text updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.

Alexis has been the best house sitter. She's absolutely wonderful with our girls and very good with updates. I'm always excited to see pictures of the pups. Our 3 dogs get along very well with her. She has very good energy which I think makes our dogs so comfortable.

We were a little nervous leaving our pets with someone new since theyâve only ever stayed with family or friends, but she made us feel so comfortable! She sent daily updates and pictures, and when we got home, all of our pets were happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. Weâll definitely be using her again! Highly recommend!

Nancy was so great in looking after our fur babies! She had great communication, sent regular updates, and the house was left in perfect condition. Even our timid cat brought Nancy her favorite toy to play fetch. Would absolutely recommend Nancy for pet/house care!

Love love love! Jasmine was an angel! She came to sit for us while we were already out of town. We unfortunately did not get to meet her, but our dogs loved her right away. She was sweet to them, sent lots of pics, and went above and beyond the call to make sure our poochies were taken care of. Do not hesitate to hire her.

Stephanie is incredible with both cats and dogs! She asked all the questions she needed and followed our routine beautifully. This truly helped especially with keeping up my dogâs training. She sent plenty of photos and was a joy to work with. Thanks again Pink Paws Lady!

Makala was amazing with Terre! She was reliable, communicative, and gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. What stood out most was how much Terre loved her. I got to spend some time with her myself, and Terre kept going over to cuddle with her, which says a lot because heâs usually pretty attached to me. It was obvious that he felt safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Brittany was absolutely amazing to my dogs while I was away. She provided detailed updates with pictures and videos throughout her stay at my home with my dogs. She even left a daily activity log outlining my pupâs potty breaks and eating schedule. She provided them with lots of love can care! I will be booking with her in the future.

Pamela was an absolute lifesaver while I was away! She took care of my dog, Zildjian, and my cat, Olive, for five days, and I couldnât have asked for a better experience. From the start, she completely relieved my stress by being reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring. She came by three times a day like clockwork, making sure both of my pets were happy, fed, and well-loved. What really stood out was how thoughtful she was with updatesâshe sent regular photos and messages that gave me total peace of mind. Even during a horrible thunderstorm, she went above and beyond to check on them and make sure they felt safe and comforted Because of Pamela, I was actually able to relax and enjoy my vacation, knowing everything at home was in the best hands possible. If youâre looking for someone trustworthy, compassionate, and incredibly dedicated, Pamela is the one. I would absolutely book her again without hesitation!

âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸ We couldnât be happier with the care Mora and Raylan received! From the moment we met, it was clear Dawn truly loves and understands dogs. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitterâs presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Live Oak walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your homeâs security or appliances.
Itâs helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Live Oak maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate theyâll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your petâs profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Live Oak choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
