I am pretty picky when it comes to walking my puppy a certain way and she didn't hesitate to take the time to learn the different cues and commands I use so that she can help reinforce his training while on walks with her. About: As much as I love cats , I’ve learned to realized that dogs are really the key to a happy life. While I was living at my mom’s house , we have about 5 rescue dogs. Our most recent dog named Pepper was previously a police dog who was planned to be put down in the shelter. I’m happy we were able to give her a second chance. That fact that shelters like this really make me question humanity and I want to do right for animals. I’ve been walking my parents dogs for roughly 8 years. I enjoy being active and being able to play with dogs really allow me to have a balanced life style. I’ve also trained our 5 year old stubborn Chihuahua how to spin and sit. That is one of my biggest accomplishments for him haha! I currently work part time , around 23 hours a week. My schedule is pretty consistent as I am a barista at a local coffee shop. I’m usually out of work from 11 am - 2pm on the week days. On the weekends I’m free on Saturdays after 1 pm and free on Sundays all day ! At the moment I live with my 2 cats in my apartment! Their names are Fish and Joe. Our apartment is pretty big and I’m hoping my cats will be able to meet yours! We have plenty of stimulating toys and i genuinely enjoy making sure the cats get the mental nourishment they need. They are pretty shy so I’m hoping that I’m able to benefit from Rover to help them become more social! The safety measures I take in my own home consists of a clean empty table ( to ensure nothing gets knocked over ), open windows safety screen up. My apartment complex has its own designated dog lawn/huge grass area so since I don’t have any dogs at the moment I’m able to take advantage of that for your dogs!
About: I have owned and cared for my pets for the last 15 years. I frequently house sit and pet sit for my military friends and for my step dad who works offshore. I’m super friendly and great with animals I am currently not working and decided to pick this up because I lost my father recently and felt like this was a good starting point for getting out of the house. I have complete open availability I am very good at following any instructions placed for your animals and am always respectful of others homes. I also really like to clean so I will always clean up after animals and myself

“Genniver surpassed my expectations. I believe I asked more than the average client, and she gladly went above and beyond to give the care my dogs needed during a busy period in my schedule. Thank you, Genn, for your kindness and dedication!”

“Brianna has been such an easy sitter! She has a great personality and Bo loved when she visited, I would definitely book her again and hopefully sooner than later. If you want a worry free dog sitter, reach out to Brianna! She is flexible and keeps up with communication!”

About: Hi! My name is Soraya, and I’m a 28-year-old animal lover with several years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. My background with animals started in high school, where I participated in FFA and veterinary science classes. Since then, I’ve gained professional experience working in both a veterinary setting and a pet boarding facility, giving me valuable knowledge in animal behavior, health monitoring, and daily care routines. I am comfortable caring for dogs and cats of all sizes, from energetic puppies and kittens to senior pets who may need extra patience and attention. I can administer most medications, including oral medications, topical treatments, and other routine care (excluding injections). Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I strive to maintain their normal routine, provide plenty of love, attention, exercise, and enrichment, while keeping you updated with photos and messages throughout your booking. For transparency, my spouse may accompany me during house-sitting bookings. We are currently in the process of having him added to my Rover profile and are awaiting completion of Rover’s background check process. He is a military veteran who has successfully completed government background screenings and shares my love for animals. While I remain the sole caregiver responsible for your pets and booking services, I believe in being open with pet parents about who may be present during a stay. I have experience working with pets of all ages, sizes, and energy levels, and I understand that every pet has unique needs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or simply sticking to their normal routine, I’ll provide attentive and compassionate care as if they were my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! With pet care in need my schedule works around your schedule! I’m pretty open and flexible and can make last minute changes if possible. I’m a veteran currently working on certificates from home. When it comes to your pet they will be safely taken care of in your home. They will have all the attention while we are there and every home is left how we entered.
About: I'm new to Rover but NOT new to watching/caring for animals! I've taken care of animals for a long time. I grew up on a farm, and did chores for the chickens, sheep, horses, and of course, dogs! I now pet sit for friends and colleagues' cats and dogs. My husband and I don't have my own animals right now, so we enjoy getting to take care of other people's fur babies. I currently work part time, so I have plenty of time to spend with your pets! I like to know your expectations, and make sure you and your pet get exactly what you need! I have watched dogs in my apartment on multiple occasions. The apartment complex is dog friendly, with doggie bags on the sidewalk and a nice little dog park as well!
About: Hello, My name is Sarah and my wife is Selina 🌈 You get two pet sitters for the price of one! We would be delighted to take care of your four legged babies while you are away or even just to walk them and check in on them. As a pet owner, I understand how hard it can be to leave your pet with someone else. I want to give you peace of mind that I treat all pets as if they were my own (and I treat mine like gold). My moto is pets are family and therefore should be treated with love and respect. We have had many pets growing up and currently are owners of a Maltese mix named Mavis. We regularly take her to dog parks, lakes, and dog friendly places. Mavis used to be underweight. After working with her food allergies we were able to find the perfect balance for her and now she is at a stable 19lbs. She has skin and digestive sensitivities so we know what it’s like to care for many conditions. She enjoys being around people and other dogs. Mavis also make friends easily and is always ready to play. Information you should know about us: We do not smoke or vape. Sarah works from home so your fur baby will always be with one of us. Also, we don’t leave Mavis alone for more than 3 hours at a time so in order to make this manageable, Selina will help take the dogs out and vice versa. Either way, your pet will have the proper attention that they need. Selina’s background: She has worked at an animal hospital caring for dogs, cats, turtles, and Guinea pigs. She has experience in performing temperament tests to make sure your dog will get along with ours. When we house sit we establish a visit to meet you and your pet. We can care for dogs, cats, and other pets you may have. We bring in the daily mail, take out trash & recycling, water plants, as well as perform special requests you may have. *If you contact us we will assume you are gay friendly 🌈 Since Sarah works from home she is available a majority of the day. We are up early so if your pet has an early morning routine, we have you covered. House sitting: We will visit your pets 2x a day or as needed based on your request. We will do our best to minimize pet destruction by moving items out of the way. From experience, some dogs tend to chew on items their owners have never seen them chew on when they are not around (e.g., DVD cases, remote controls, books, clothes, food packages, place mats, dog bed, etc.) we will take pictures and give you a full report on what they did. We will do our best to remove/cover items they like to get to. We are not able to stay over night.
About: Animals have been a big part of my life for over 20 years. I currently have two dogs that I raised from puppies, so I understand the patience, consistency, and attention that great pet care requires. I treat every pet like family and always aim to make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I currently work as a freelance software developer, so I have a flexible schedule with open availability for pet care. This gives me the ability to provide reliable, consistent care and be available for walks, drop-ins, and other pet care needs throughout the week. During walks and drop-ins, I prioritize safety by using secure leashing practices, monitoring the environment, and making sure pets have fresh water and plenty of attention. I also provide regular updates with photos so owners know their pets are being well cared for. My goal is to make each visit stress-free and enjoyable while treating every pet like my own.

Andrew came in and helped us last minute and I’m so grateful. Great communication and he was able to make the dogs comfortable even though we didn’t have time for a previous meet and greet. He sent pics and details and was respectful of our home. I’m so glad we booked him and would book again!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
