“Thalia was amazing. I was able to enjoy my vacation and not worry about my 2 dogs. She loved on them and made sure they stayed on schedule. I will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Jada has stayed at our house several times and always goes above and beyond. She is very communicative, always on time, ensures the pups are well loved (and gives them lots of treats), and always leave our house clean. We highly recommend Jada.”

“Kelsie did a great job with our 3 dogs. We have a 7 month old puppy and she needs extra work. Plus my older dogs enjoy having someone there to let them out and to pay attention to them.”

“John was great! He made me feel comfortable with leaving Mocha while I went out of town, he communicated constantly and she enjoyed having him around. I will definitely use his services again”

“Leandra took great care of our pup and kitty and home! She was very flexible with our schedule changes and followed our very specific instructions we left as well as sent many updates to ease us since this was our first getaway leaving the babies behind. On her way out our puppy licked her which was evident she loved her time with her. Thank you for your help we will definitely be re-booking for future getaways!”

“We had a great experience with AnnaMaria, she was very responsive, kind, and punctual. She kept us updated the whole time, provided great care to our animals and the house was just as we left it. We will absolutely book with AnnaMaria again. Thank you for taking great care of our boys!”

“Monica was great and I highly recommend her! I booked her for a 3 night stay with my dog and two cats, which I was super anxious about. It was the first time I was leaving them in a while given that one of my cats went on subcutaneous fluids. I was ?very anxious about him potentially missing his night time dose so, despite the long commute, Monica came for the M&G and a second visit for extra practice with the injection. For the stay I was willing to work around her work schedule with a dog walker, but she was lovely enough to take most of the days off so that she could fully focus on the crew. During my time away I got plenty of updates and I came back to a clean apartment and content animals.”

About: I have been an ongoing volunteer at the Animal Defense League of San Antonio since I was about 9 y/o, taking the dogs on walks and socializing the cats and kittens. I have thorough knowledge and experience with raising and fostering kittens, as well as dogs just under 1y/o. I've owned and fostered cats and dogs at varying life stages, throughout my entire life as well. I am well experienced and knowledgeable in animal care and the handling of a myriad of pets and wildlife. While currently also shadowing a very experienced and accredited dog trainer, I am definitely confident in my ability to provide extra care and love for your sweet, fur-babies. Currently, I am in-between jobs, so I as long as I have about a day's heads-up, I'm usually free pretty much any day to care for you furry friend. I perfer to start my work day around afternoon to late afternoon, though morning time isn't a deal-breaker. After meeting and getting acquainted with your fur-baby, I'd appreciate it if, after being told everything you want me to be aware of your pet, you were to also write down detailed notes about your pet's daily routine; feeding times, what food/treats they are and aren't allowed to comsue, common behaviors, what they're allowed and aren't allowed to do around the house, any necessary medications (if any), etc.
“Jasmine was an excellent communicator and gave me plenty of updates regarding my pups. She was very responsive and willing to accommodate the needs of my dogs. I totally recommend her and will absolutely use her again in the future.”

“Matthew was so communicative and reliable! It was his second time watching my pups and he was so flexible when we had to change plans around last minute due to a sick pup. He gave them medicine, and I was much more relaxed knowing they were in good hands.”

“Jenn did a great job. She walked Cooper everyday and played with him a lot while she stayed at my home. This was the first time I had left him here while I traveled (13 days) and I felt very safe with her. She communicated daily including pictures.”

“Laura was caring and loving to our cats while on vacation. She communicated quickly and we came home to our cats happy and healthy. We would have her watch our cats again in the future! 🩷🐈🐈⬛”

About: I've grown up around dogs and currently have three of my own, so caring for them has been part of my daily life for years. I've also dog sat for family and friends, handling feeding, walks, playtime, and making sure pets feel comfortable while their owners are away. I understand that every dog has a different personality and routine, and I always prioritize their safety, happiness, and well-being. I'll treat your pet with the same care and attention I give my own, and I'll keep you updated with photos and messages during every visit. I'm currently a university student with a flexible schedule, which allows me to provide dependable pet care throughout the week. I do my best to accommodate each pet's routine, whether that means morning walks, afternoon visits, or evening check-ins. I'm happy to communicate with owners to find a schedule that works best for both them and their pets. Your pet's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions provided by owners and make sure pets stay on their normal routine. I'll always keep doors, gates, and leashes secure, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and send regular photo and text updates so you know your pet is happy and well cared for while you're away.

Once again, Alexis did a phenomenal job! This was our second time having her house sit for our three dogs, and she was wonderful as always. She sends daily updates with pictures, takes great care of our girls, and gives us complete peace of mind while we’re away. We highly recommend Alexis!

Soraya and her husband did such an excellent job taking care of our babies!! They provided frequent updates and photos which is a priority for me. They adapted to our cat’s personality so well and seemed to make her feel comfortable so much faster than I would have expected, and they gave our dog all of the affection and attention she begs for. Our girls both seemed happy and comfortable and very well loved while we were gone!

Nancy was so great in looking after our fur babies! She had great communication, sent regular updates, and the house was left in perfect condition. Even our timid cat brought Nancy her favorite toy to play fetch. Would absolutely recommend Nancy for pet/house care!

Stephanie is incredible with both cats and dogs! She asked all the questions she needed and followed our routine beautifully. This truly helped especially with keeping up my dog’s training. She sent plenty of photos and was a joy to work with. Thanks again Pink Paws Lady!

Tiffany did such an amazing job with our Lelo! She also went above and beyond the care with helping with the watering of the plants and other helpful things around the house while we were on vacation. I would definitely recommend her and will contact her again for care for Lelo! 💕

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Universal City on Rover is $32.19 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of August 2026, there are 1,813 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Universal City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Universal City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Universal City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Universal City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
