“Victoria exceeded all expectations! I have 2 cats (15 & 6) that both required different levels of care and Victoria was able to handle both of them. She was very thorough in her prep and we had a video consult to go over all expectations, requests, questions, etc. She was detailed and asked questions I hadn’t even thought to cover. During the pet sitting, she kept me updated at all time and provided pictures to let me know the girls were doing okay. My 15 year old cat requires multiple medications that can sometimes be difficult to administer and she was able to administer with no issues. Nothing about this was a negative experience and I would recommend her to anyone!! I will definitely be rebooking her in the future.”

“Jada has been so amazing! Her communication was the best we’ve ever had from a sitter. And, when we had a last minute change to our plans, she was able to extend her stay instantly. Couldn’t recommend her more.”

“Sara was great! She was so sweet when we met her and our boys were comfortable with her right away. She sent lots of updates and pics while we were gone and the boys were happy and healthy when we returned. We have already booked her for another stay!!”

“Carmen is worth the five star. Not only did she do an excellent job with the house sitting, but my two babies will miss her. I will continue to use her for all future needs, if she accepts.”

“This is the 2nd time I’ve used Juliza. She took excellent care of all the pets! She plays with them and pampers them . She also sends pics and reports on how they r doing. I definitely recommend her!”

“Ashley took great care of our two dogs in our home for 5 days. She communicated well and even came early when I realized I made a mistake on the start time!! We will be having her come stay again on all of our upcoming trips!”

“Lucrecia was great! Our dog is a bit nervous when we leave, so we tend to go overboard on instructions. Lucrecia was very understanding and our Zeus seems very happy and relaxed around her.”

“Kallie was AMAZING!!!! She constantly sent pics and if my dogs lay on and around her, she’s a keeper! It’s always so hard to find that person to trust with your dogs and your home, but we found “that person” with Kallie!”

“McKaylee thank you so much for the great care you gave our sweet Amaretto. It was the first time leaving our pup since losing her sibling. McKaylee gave us the comfort we needed by sending us pictures often and staying at the house with Amaretto. We will definitely use her again soon! ♥️♥️♥️”

“Marina was an excellent sitter for our active border collie. She kept updated with detailed reports throughout the day which was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend and look forward working with her in the future also. Thanks Marina!”

“Samantha took great care of our pets while we were getting married. This was the second time she looked after them and it was great. Samantha is very responsive and sends many updates. We would definitely book her again.”

“Courtney is an excellent, caring, and attentive dog sitter. During our meet and greet, it was clear she is highly experienced and skilled at caring for pets and animals in general. She watched my two rescue Yorkies in our home for over a week. My two dogs are not easy, as they have behavioral issues and often have tummy issues when I’m away traveling. Courtney was so great about communicating with me, keeping me posted on how the dogs were doing, and would ask thoughtful questions if something seemed potentially off with one of the dogs or if they may not be feeling well. It was also clear that Courtney treated our house like her own. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking exceptional pet sitting care for their pet!! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟”

“Delane was a wonderful dog/house sitter for us. She was extremely responsive and attentive. She provided photos and updates each day. She followed all our instructions and left the house in immaculate condition. Highly recommend her.”

“This was the first time I used a dog/house sitter so I was a bit nervous about the whole thing. But Emoni was great! My pup liked her right away and I was totally comfortable leaving her my house key. She was super communicative and helpful during her stay, even when my dog decided to push down her gate. 🤦🏼♀️😂 I will definitely be a repeat client!”

About: I have dog sat for nearly 8 years now and love it! I have a 2 year old Australian Sheppard that gets along with all dogs, and cats. We are usually a package deal, but if I have to I can leave him with someone else. I can either stay at your house, or just provide feeding once or twice a day. Most of the time I prefer to stay at the owners home, since I am renting a rather small studio apartment. I love to take the pups I’m dog sitting to the local dog park, if the owners are comfortable with it. I am always open for any special accompanies. Give me a call- I would love to dog sit for you! Thanks, Nicole I work full time from 7:30-4, Monday-Friday, and I work a part job on Saturdays 9:30-6. I usually stay the night at the house, or let the pets out 2x/day. I normally stay at the per owners home. I have a very friendly Australian Sheppard that usually stays at the homes with me. He is fine with dogs and cats.

After several difficult experiences interviewing pet sitters in my area, I was honestly very nervous to try again. I am an anxious dog owner, and trusting someone with my pets does not come easily—especially because our dogs are high-need breeds. From the very first conversation, Lily made me feel calm, heard, and reassured. I shared my past experiences with her, and she was so kind and understanding. She even scheduled a meet-and-greet with my pets, which meant the world to me. When Lily came to our home, I was truly touched by how prepared she was. She already knew all of my pets by name and remembered every special detail I had mentioned during our very brief phone call. We have a German Shepherd, a Husky, a Husky mix with extremely high needs who chews everything, and a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix—truly a household of dogs from big to small. Lily handled all of them with so much patience, confidence, and love. She was an absolute champion. We decided to start with an overnight stay before planning any longer trips. I honestly cannot put into words how thankful I am that we found her. Lily checked in regularly and was always so friendly. She cared for our four fur babies as if they were her own. She even let them sleep in bed with her, which instantly told me how much she truly loves animals. We have finally found our sitter and will absolutely be using Lily again and again. I cannot recommend her enough. If you are looking for someone who will love and care for your pets the way you do, Lily is the one.

Sara was amazing! She was reliable, attentive and kept us updated with photos and messages. We returned home to happy and relaxed pups, and a clean house. It's clear she truly loves animals and treats them as her own. We highly recommend Sara and will definitely book her again!🐾

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred New Braunfels walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in New Braunfels maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in New Braunfels choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
