“Jessica was great! We were out of town 4 nights, and then our flight got delayed and she was able to adjust her schedule to stay a 5th night to take care of our dog. She sent photos and updates at least twice a day and I felt better knowing I had someone here at our house to care for our dog (instead of boarding him). Our dog has some anxiety and allergy issues and she took care of all his meds and gave him lots of love and cuddles. About: I used to walk a Yellow Lab when her owner broke her arm. I have volunteered at the ARL and was in the "walking the pavement" program. Most notably, I’ve been a consistent caretaker for two energetic black labs for the past 8 years. I’ve also cared for fish, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, and a bearded dragon. About: At the age 16 I got my first job at a doggie daycare connected to a vet clinic. At the location I was apart of the doggie day care as well as their boarding services. After just over a year at that location, I decided to move on a different doggie day care and stayed there for 6 months doing about the same thing. I am currently a senior studying at Iowa state university. I am majoring in animal ecology. I have a fairly relaxed schedule and try to fit walks/visits in where I can! I have dog sat for plenty of my family friends and listen very well to instructions. I know how important a schedule and structure can be for an animal so I do my best to make sure things are just like they are when the parents are home.

About: I have been a vet tech for 4 years and have had animals all my life, dogs, cats, horses, and pocket pets. Love them all. About: Ever since I’ve been little I have loved caring for pets. I’ve grown up around cats, dogs, horses, chickens, and rabbits, so I’ve had a lot of hands-on experience caring for all kinds of animals. I’ve always genuinely enjoyed it! Throughout high school and college, I also house-sat regularly for friends and neighbors, taking care of their pets while keeping up with the house and making sure everything was taken care of. I am currently living and working in the Urbandale area with a very flexible work schedule. I am able to stop in through the day for meals, walks, or the occasional check in just to make sure everyone is doing well! I like to keep things simple and make sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for in their own routine. For walks, I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise and time to sniff and explore while keeping them safe and supervised. For house check-ins, I’ll follow their normal feeding, potty, medication, and play routines, give them some attention and company, and make sure they have fresh water and everything they need before I leave.
