While attending Iowa State University, I joined the ACE Project, where I had the rewarding opportunity to foster several dogs who had experienced trauma or needed extra help with socialization. I currently work at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Des Moines, where I care for and handle animals with a wide range of medical needs, including critically ill pets. This experience has given me valuable hands-on animal care experience and a strong medical knowledge base, allowing me to feel confident caring for pets who may need extra attention, medication, or specialized care. I truly miss fostering and spending time with dogs, and pet sitting feels like the perfect way to continue doing what I love! About: You can have peace of mind knowing your cat or dog is safe and well taken care of while you're away. I believe that well-socialized and exercised dogs are the happiest dogs. I have been around dogs and cats my entire life, and love taking care of them to get to know each one on an individual level. I currently have a ten year old 90-pound and five year old 45-pound mixed breed dogs whom I exercise and love daily. I consistently socialize them in order to reinforce good dog behavior, and I hope to do the same with your pup. Over the years I have dog-sat for many friends and loved every minute of it. I adhere to all owner's rules regarding feeding, medication, and other house rules. I am available weekdays and weekends. I currently work during the day, so mornings, evenings, and weekends are generally times when I am most readily available to care for your pet. Sophia did an excellent job watching our two dogs while we were on vacation. One of our dogs is very anxious and requires extra time to warm up to strangers. Sophia was flexible, maintained a calm demeanor, and did several drop in visits prior to our departure to ensure he was comfortable when we left.
