“Holly and her family are awesome. Sally and Sam really didn’t want to leave to come home. Holly kept me very up to date on what was going on with them. She sent photos also. I believe they had a great time and I will use Holly anytime we go on vacations.”

“Samantha is very helpful and kind. My dog Mork had a great night at her house. I got pictures of Mork and updates timely. Her dog, Buddy, is very friendly too.”

“Our two Labradoodles had a great stay with Scott & Jess! They were great about letting our girls come visit before the stay to be sure they were a good fit, and Scott was prompt and responsive throughout the whole stay. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable boarding experience!”

“She is amazing! Got pictures and videos while on vacation. She actually cares about animals. Will definitely use her again and highly highly highly recommend using her!!!”

“Stacy is AMAZING! She made me feel super comfortable leaving my energetic dog with her. We constantly received pictures, videos, and updates on how our dog was doing. She has a huge yard for playtime, lots of dog beds to keep them comfy inside, and you can definitely tell that she truly has a love for doggies!! Thank you, Stacy!!”

“Ally was really great with my dog Miller. She was very open with her communication and sent a lot of updates and pictures over the weekend. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter in the area. And will definitely let her watch my dog again in the future”

“Alivia was an amazing sitter for Ares! She was incredibly attentive and made sure he had everything he needed while I was away. She sent regular updates and photos, which kept me completely in the loop and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after, and I could tell Ares was comfortable and well cared for the entire time. I would absolutely trust Alivia to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter!”

“Sheri was amazing! She kept me updated on my dog the entire time! She asked what kind of treats my dog liked and kept her feeling safe during the 4th of July weekend! I highly recommend Sheri and her family to watch over your 4 legged children!”

About: Dogs and cats are my first priority whenever I'm over at a friend or family member's house. My brother had asthma so we re-homed our dog Sylvie when I was seven years old--I have some very dramatic journal articles from that time! So, whenever I got to be around pets, I gave them as much of my attention as they were interested in. I am now lucky enough to have my own dog (Shannon, the goldendoodle in my profile picture) but can never get enough time with dogs and cats!! Over the summer my schedule is relatively flexible, so if your dog needs a walk or your cat needs to be fed at any time throughout the day, I should be able to make it work! My goal is to maintain your pet's routine as much as possible! I can spend one-on-one time with them, take them out, or just check on them as the situation requires.
“Maricela was awesome with easing in Sami into her home, giving her space to get used to the new environment. She sent pictures daily and was always incredibly responsive in both the inquiry and once booked. She accommodated our requests and was incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend Maricela if you are looking for someone that will treat your pet as their own!”

“Brett was great with our dog, Allie!! He sent updates, pictures, and videos! He responded very quickly and was flexible with our pick up and drop off time! Will definitely be reaching out to him again!”

“Our pups had an amazing time and they were cared for as if we were caring for them ourselves! Can’t say enough great things. Will definitely bring them back in the future!”

“This was our first time away from Stanley for more than a few days. Stanley seemed happy while we were gone and we felt better knowing he was well taken care of! He really likes Christy and Erkam!”

“Ivana treated Max like he was her family. He was happy feeling part of the team with her dogs. He was pampered and loved. I will definitely use Ivana again.. so satisfied with her care for Max.🥰”

“Our dog loves Cliff and Milo. She is always so excited when we arrive at their home. That sure makes it easier to leave her, and we love the photos and videos Cliff sends us of her.”

“Ginny was amazing with Tiny!! When I picked Tiny up she wasn’t smelly at all. Sometimes little dogs are stinky at pick up- not today! I loved the whole set up at Ginny’s house. I wasn’t worried one bit. I need to leave town more often so Tiny can go see her new friends.”

“Buster enjoyed another wonderful overnight at Meghan’s— or what we have started calling his “vacation home,” because he gets so much love and attention! Meghan is an excellent communicator, a wonderful dog-caretaker, and a top-notch photo-sender. She is our go-to, and we are incredibly grateful for her!”

“Tam and her partner were exactly who you'd want to leave your fur baby with, and in my case, totally saved the day with a last minute booking. They were friendly, extremely responsive and from the pictures, my picky chihuahua had a great time. Would def book again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Windsor Heights
Amanda did a great job giving my and her dog time to get use to each other. It was a little rocky at first meet but they showed promise. She did great making sure they had the space they needed until they warmed up. By the end of our trip they were comfortable relaxing with each other and even played some tug together. Her pictures were also great and were a nice treat every morning (time zone difference) for us. A meet and greet and maybe and maybe a night to test the waters would be recommended but she does a great job managing the energy of the pack.

Casandra is the best! We love that our two pups have such a wonderful place to stay whenever we go out of town. Our boys are senior dogs and have all sorts of meds to give, some mobility issues, and even some accidents, but Casandra is always gracious and kind about it. She stays in contact with us and sends pictures and videos. We highly recommend Casandra!

I think my Sam had a great time with Cynthia and family…and he was so lucky that Cynthia’s daughter was there with her little dog Reggie, so he had a playmate the whole time he was there (9days). Cynthia watered her plants outside and my Sam loves to be watered also. And with the very hot weather, he enjoyed it. Will be returning!

Morgan did such an amazing job of taking care of our pup. This was our first time using Rover and leaving her with a non-family member, so we were a bit nervous but Morgan immediately put us at ease. She was so thoughtful, caring, and attentive. Bella stayed with Morgan for a week and we were able to fully enjoy our vacation knowing she was in the best hands possible being well taken care of and spoiled while we were away. We would recommend Morgan to anyone without the slightest hesitation and will absolutely trust Morgan to care for Bella during future vacations! Thank you again, Morgan!

Karina is a wonderful pet sitter, she sent us pictures and a video of our Coco while pet sitting here. Coco seemed to enjoy the time with her and even though Coco and her cat Sylvia didn't get along, everything went just fine, Karina manage to make it work. I would definitely book with her next time again!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
