“Jessica watched Tripper for us during our most recent trip out of town. It was our first time boarding Tripper anywhere, and he had a blast. He met and played with her dog Rip and cat Ghost as well as the other dogs she watched during his 5-day stay. He came home tired and happy. She communicated and was flexible with drop-off and pick-up, and sent us updates to let us know how Tripper was doing. We would absolutely love to board with her again. We highly recommend her!”

“We have an incredibly shy dog. He is very leery of people and we have tended to not board him. Osvaldo and his family were AMAZING with our dog. They were petting him, he was sleeping at their feet, and they were taking him for walks in the park--something he never does well. We loved all the updates, his home was set up for taking care of dogs, and he had other dogs to play with while we were gone--something he loves. I think Osvaldo is a dog whisperer. Magic--sheer magic! Even our dog trainer couldn't get these results from him. We are forever indebted and will use him again!”

“Jaded was very communicative and flexible! He was willing to work with our schedule and gave great care to the pups. We appreciated all the photos and know they had a great time.”

“Becky took care of Silky very well and took him for walks and updated regularly regarding how he was doing. She also picked him up and dropped him off which was very convenient especially with the bad weather with snow at the time.”

About: Hi, I'm Emily! I'm not just a dog lover - I've been a dog mom to just about every size and personality. Over the years I've had my own Chihuahuas, Labs, Olde English Bulldogs, American Staffordshires, and American Bullies. So I’m very comfortable with strong, energetic breeds as well as tiny lap dogs who think they run the house. I particularly love the bully breeds - no judgment, just structure, play, and lots of affection. I know how to read body language for both a nervous 4lb Chihuahua and an 80lb Lab who thinks they’re a lap dog. I’ve cared for a dog who required a strict daily medication routine, so I am meticulous about timing, dosages, and watching for side effects. Pills, liquid meds, special feeding schedules - I’ve done it all and I take it seriously. My home is calm with a structured routine. My husband and I are early to bed and early to rise. I keep a clean but dog-proofed home with a predictable routine for potty breaks, walks, play, and rest. We walk in the mornings and sometimes again in the evening if the weather allows. I only book one client at a time so your pup(s) will get plenty of attention! I promise to send lots of updates, photos, and videos so you never worry. Your pup will be treated like family here - safe, loved, allowed on the couch and in the bed and very well cared for while you're away. I have a securely fenced yard and take daily walks in my neighborhood for exercise. Inside, dogs have plenty of places to lounge, with dog beds, toys, and a quiet areas for naps. My home is non-smoking, no kids with one American Bully named Rosco. Rosco is neutered, two years old, about 80 lbs and loves other dogs. Rosco is a high energy dog who does best with dogs who are playful but also tolerant. Rosco also does great with smaller dogs and puppies. I am open to dogs over 40lbs but not more than 60lbs. I never leave dogs unattended for long without them being kenneled. I am home most of the day but utilize kennels when we’re gone for everyone’s safety. We follow a twice a day feeding schedule and I will gladly follow your instructions to the letter for feeding, crate time, and walks. I’m currently between jobs and have plenty of time for pet care. My husband works during the week and is around in the evenings and the weekends to help care for our pups. I have a fenced in yard a very friendly bulldog named Rosco to keep your pup company. I can also crate your pup if needed.
“Elizabeth was amazing! So communicative, smart with how she handled the dogs in her care, and incredibly loving with my pup. I will absolutely be booking with her again.”

“Scott and Jess took such great care of our goldendoodle! We got lots of great pictures during her stay and she loved playing in their backyard! They were super responsive and attentive to our questions and requests. Highly recommend them and will definitely use them again!!”

About: I have had pets my entire adult life, and I know how important it is to you to find the right person to take care of them while you’re away. I am committed to taking care of your pets like they’re my own, and I’m excited to provide lots of love and fun! I work from home, and my husband is a full time dad, so we’d be happy to spend time with your pets, go for walks as a family, and see to their every need! We have pet gates throughout the home, extra kennels if needed, and a fenced in yard. We are also comfortable giving medication orally or via injection if needed.

She watched my dog in her home and made leaving my pup so easy and I came home to a calm, stress-free dog. She kept in touch and sent pictures to reassure me they were doing great. Best of all, my dog loved her!! Thanks Kayla!”

She sent pictures daily and was always incredibly responsive in both the inquiry and once booked. She accommodated our requests and was incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend Maricela if you are looking for someone that will treat your pet as their own!”

“Stefanie was awesome! She agreed to meet with me and my two dogs to see how they did with her and her dog. Everything was fine and she did a great job with them. She did a great job. She sent me a few pics of my dogs chillin and they looked great. I am sure they had a great time. I would recommend Stefanie and will definitely be using her again!”

“Amber did a great job watching Clover!! She kept us informed on how she was eating and even gave her a few special treats. Clover loved the swimming pool. 🐶 We appreciate the great care she received.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Norwalk
Kylie and her family are the very best!! Our Daisy has stayed with them for 2 long trips and she always has the best time. She gets to play and gets so much love and attention from the kids that she is so worn out, in the best way! Daisy had a little bit of anxiety this last time at the start of her stay and Kylie was so patient and attentive, making sure she settled in well and was safe and comfortable. We appreciate her so much and highly recommend her for anyone needing a sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
