“Maricela was awesome with easing in Sami into her home, giving her space to get used to the new environment. She sent pictures daily and was always incredibly responsive in both the inquiry and once booked. She accommodated our requests and was incredibly friendly. Definitely recommend Maricela if you are looking for someone that will treat your pet as their own!”

“Absolutely the best sitter I could have found. Spoiled my dog to the point he expects more from home now :). He has separation anxiety and she accommodated his every need and did everything to make him feel just like he is at home, she even let him sleep in her bed with her. I cannot recommend Casandra enough.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was pleased with Jessica’s quick response time and enthusiasm to meet and care for Blanca. The process was easy and drop off went smoothly. Jessica’s dog was in a kennel when we arrived to make drop off less stressful for both dogs. The pups were introduced after we left to get their sniffing done on neutral territory (on a walk out front). We received photos and updates during our whole time away and knew Blanca was happy and safe. We would be happy to use Jessica again in the future!”

“Samantha is amazing! My 3 year old Cavapoo loves staying at her home. I receive regular updates & photos which is what any pet owner could ask for. Thanks again Samantha!”

“Our dog had a cut on his paw and eye from a bad grooming experience. While we were away for the weekend Tanya took him to the vet and took care of all of his meds (and cuddles) while he was healing!”

“Alivia was an amazing sitter for Ares! She was incredibly attentive and made sure he had everything he needed while I was away. She sent regular updates and photos, which kept me completely in the loop and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in great hands. It’s clear she genuinely cares about the pets she looks after, and I could tell Ares was comfortable and well cared for the entire time. I would absolutely trust Alivia to watch him again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter!”

“Savannah was an amazing caretaker for my sweet little pup!! She showered her with love and care and kept me updated on how she was doing throughout her stay. Will definitely be booking our stays with her from now on! :)”

“I think Missy has got to be the best sitter my dog Bella has ever had. Not only did Missy welcome the challenge of a spicy chihuahua but she mastered it. By the end she let her hold her! And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”

“Elizabeth provided a safe and fun place for our energetic dog to stay and play all week. I think our dog may have been more spoiled than we were on our vacation! I know Elizabeth spent ample time walking, snuggling, and playing fetch. The updates and photos she sent often were comforting and reminded us that our dog was in very god hands. We will definitely be back!”

“Morgan is AMAZING!!!! I was able to enjoy my trip knowing my pup was in the best care and could tell she truly cared for my dog the same way I would! He came home extra happy and in good spirits. I’m so glad I found such a reliable dog sitter - Morgan is truly the best and I look forward to using her service again!”

About: I grew up in a home with pets and enjoy being able to include them in our home and give them love and attention while their owners are away. I work from home and am able to care for your pet weekdays except for Fridays and occasionally over the weekend schedule depending. I have a fenced in yard and my family and I love to play fetch with dogs or tug of war and we usually walk around the neighborhood several times throughout the day to enjoy nature and get our limbs moving and love to have a dog on our walk with us as we stroll the neighborhood. I have a fenced yard and a very flexible schedule to allow for lots of attention and play time. I also have several pet loving children who are gentle and enjoy loving on pets.
“Alicia did a wonderful job in caring for our dog Gracie while we were away. The communication was excellent and we appreciated her taking Gracie on walks. A great experience; we will use her again and highly recommend her to others.”

“Ivana treated Max like he was her family. He was happy feeling part of the team with her dogs. He was pampered and loved. I will definitely use Ivana again.. so satisfied with her care for Max.🥰”

“This was our first time away from Stanley for more than a few days. Stanley seemed happy while we were gone and we felt better knowing he was well taken care of! He really likes Christy and Erkam!”

“These guys are great! Very caring & attentive! Sent us a few pics while we were gone that put our minds at ease & even took Coco for a walk. Looking forward to them keeping her next time. Thank you for the great care of Coco!!”

“Knowledgeable and kind caretakers. My dog seemed to like it there and I appreciated hearing how well he did for them. The pics throughout the week were a very nice bonus (and a comfort). :)”

“Our dogs were so happy with Cary and Lara. They seemed sad to leave their new friends when we got home. We got fun pictures to show us their adventures while we were away, and I could tell they just settled right in. It was a fantastic experience!”

“Our dog loves Cliff and Milo. She is always so excited when we arrive at their home. That sure makes it easier to leave her, and we love the photos and videos Cliff sends us of her.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
