About: I’ve loved and owned dogs since I was a small child. My first pet as an adult was a cat. Since then, we have adopted and loved a previous military trained explosives German Shepherd, a German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix (recently passed 2/27/26 😢), and also the partial owner of (with my ex-spouse) a police K9 Belgian Malinois. The K9 was brought home at 8 weeks and trained in-house (both at home and at work, but trained by my ex-husband). I love all dogs- big and small. I currently work full time, but work in the office 3 days/week, which makes me have a lot of flexibility to help out during the week and during the day time. My pets have always been considered my children. I am comfortable with leashing and controlling dogs in a variety of situations. I am situationally aware and avoid interacting with other dogs while walking, as I know those are unpredictable situations.

About: NOTE: Off during summer, but I work weekdays throughout the school year. Still available during school, but pets will be at home without me on weekdays for about 7 hours. I have owned and cared for dogs for over 25 years. I have cared for small dogs <25 pounds all the way up to large sized Great Danes > 200 pounds. I have been fostering dogs for Safe Paws Iowa for the past 4 years. I am available for a large portion of the summer because I only coach softball outside of the school year. I am very active and would love to share that energy with dogs! Walking, jogging, or just playing in the doggy pool is no issue at all. My Golden loves to play if yours does! If not, I have the space to separate dogs too. Lastly, I have experience giving dogs meds as some of the dogs in my care have different long term conditions. Please reach out with any questions! About: Not only have I had my own animals most of my life but for 3 or 4 years I was also a foster home for the breed Weimaraner. Animals are like my kids and so will be your animals. Would prefer to discuss with each animal owner what is needed as I work full time but I am flexible so would like to be contacted. I am very protective and treat all animals as my own whether they are in my house or there own. If I’m my home or there own I would follow there owners instructions on what is required.

About: Spending time and interacting with animals has always been a passion of mine. About: I have personally had a pet or 3 since I was 13 years old. I begged for a cat for years and once I got one, I never have been without at least one pet. I have been volunteering with the ARL since 2005. I have had 30+ foster dogs through them as well. I just love animals. I do have weekends blocked but just ask about availability! I am retired. I enjoy going for walks with dogs and depending on the dog spending time outside in my fenced in backyard. I have a 6 foot fence. Your dog will have the ability to be part of our family and our family pets are on our furniture. We do separate our home animals, fosters and house guests at night. The "regulars" get to sleep in our beds while our guests get other accommodations. It makes for better harmony for us. Because we foster on a regular basis our animals are very used to different dogs coming into our home. Our home is pretty quiet and relaxing.

About: I have had pets for my whole life, whether that be hamsters, fish, dogs, cats, bunnies, and even wildlife who need extra support to get back into their habitat. I have tons of experience with different kinds of dogs. I have had my dogs since they were puppies all the way to the end of their lives, which gives me knowledge about each of the stages of pet’s lives. I also have volunteered at a dog shelter for 6+ years, so I have experience working with reactive dogs to dogs who are extremely timid and shy. I can guarantee that I have seen all kinds of personalities between all kinds of animals. I also have worked with cats at the shelter, which also gives me insight on the way cats can be which could range from very sassy (like my cat Benny lol!), to the sweetest cats. Along with those experiences with different personalities, I have lots of experiences with injured animals and have had exposure to treating wounds/minor injuries in animals. I have had to learn how to treat my dog’s diabetes since she was recently diagnosed, and have accommodated my lifestyle to fit her needs as a diabetic. I also have learned how to manage an obese dog’s weight into a healthier weight. Overall, I have grown up surrounded by animals and have seen an abundance of different situations within different kinds of animals!! I currently attend a university in the Des Moines metro and will be commuting from my home to school. This ensures that I have time to go back and forth between my house and school, which will allow me to make frequent trips to check on the pet. I also live with my parents who work from home, so there will always be someone watching the pet and ensuring that everything is going well. I get off from school around noon every day, so that will allow me to go back home and spend the rest of the afternoon with the pet and pay full attention towards them!! In my home, I am responsible for feeding, bathing, cleaning after, and spending time with all of my pets. I have learned how to trim nails, properly bathe a pet, treat one of my dogs that has diabetes, and clean wounds when a pet gets injured. I have been able to experience many situations with pets and stay calm during an accident. I am willing to do anything to accommodate any pet because they deserve to have a life of luxury, just like us! I am also committed to ensuring that any client who has special accommodations for their pets gets those wishes granted and will do everything in my power to make sure the pet has a great time with me!!

About: I had my own dog for 15 years and spend lots of time training him, walking him, and learning to care for him on a daily basis. We got him when he was very young and he loved to an old age for a lab, so I have experience with both young and old dogs. I don’t currently have any pets as I am a college student, but I have experience caring for pets in the past. I can follow instructions easily and am very responsible when it comes to caring for animals. I make sure to keep the environment calm and peaceful as I know some animals can get scared when around unfamiliar people or in an unfamiliar place. I love to pet animals and show them affection, but also give them their own space when it is needed. I love to play with more energetic animals and take them for walks/runs, but for more sedentary animals I make it a priority to let them chill and keep an eye on them in case any needs arise.

About: I've owned multiple senior dogs, and volunteered at the ARL dog shelter. I am more experienced with cats, but am willing to work with dogs as well, especially if they're easy going. I'm currently attending college, so for the summer my schedule is pretty much open! I can work anytime of day, and am able to work holidays. I always take that into consideration upon each visit, as I get to know your dog/cat, and build a trusting relationship. Whether your pet goes out on a leash, uses a fenced in yard, or requires potty pads to go to the bathroom, I'll follow your instructions as discussed through the Rover app, or during our initial "meet and greet". I have a flexible schedule where I can pop around to your pet when needed. I have a heart for animals along with the patience needed to give quality pet care. Your pet will always come first and I would treat them as if they are my own.
