About: Visiting pets will be treated like members of our family where they will be attended to all the time. I do not kennel my pets. I am retired so now I stay home with my pets. I am available all hours and will fit any of my schedule that comes up around your pets needs. My pets are my babies. They do not stay out all day. I have 1/3 acre of fenced grassy yard for pate to play in, when they’re not inside with me.

Hannah was a very nice lady! My dog, who is a barker, didn't bark at her the 1st time she came to walk him. That there says something about the person she is. Her promptness and great communication made things easy peasy! We won't hesitate to request her dog services again. Thanks Hannah!

About: Feeding, watering, and exercising your four-legged family members is the easy part. My priority is making sure your furry friends feel loved and special while you’re not able to be there. I know the stress and worry of having to be away and hoping your pet is being well-cared for. I am there to ease your mind and to make it less stressful for you and your pet. I am an expert cat and dog snuggler and have been known to be a cat whisperer for those felines that don’t warm up easily. Although I am new to this platform, I am not new to taking care of pets. I have been a cat and dog owner for over 30 years. I am also a proud cat/dog auntie for my nieces and nephew’s pets. Over the years I have also watched many friends pets while they travel. For most of last year while traveling for work, I housesat and watched furry loved ones through another platform while traveling for work in the DC area. I have been in healthcare for more than two decades, but I am currently on a break to work on some new projects. That work happens in my home office and I am my own boss. So my schedule is open and flexible. I am also comfortable taking care of special medical issues your pet may have. About: I have lots of experience working with dogs with Thyroid disorders, joint problems, hip problems, diabetes, and special diets. I'm very flexible. All you have to do is ask and we'll see. I've had Chocolate Labs, Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, Poodles, Terriers, and Shih Tzus. I love animals especially puppies and dogs. I am also willing to watch your cats if you also have them. I wanted to be a veterinarian or veterinary assistant but I didn't quite have the grades for it so that's why I decided to become a dog sitter, a dog walker, pet care taker, dog lover, and pet lover. I will take the best care of your pet and love it like my very own. Hope to hear from you soon. I'm available for house sitting on weekends and some week nights just ask me. Availability for pet care all week depending on the hours needed. I always accompany pets when they are outside even in a fenced in yard. I take short or long walks depending on what is requested.

About: What truly sets me apart is that I don’t just view pet sitting as a job; I view it through the lens of a dedicated pet parent. My own 80lb German Shepherd/Husky mix is my absolute entire world, and raising a large, highly intelligent, and high-energy breed has given me incredible hands-on experience. Because of my background, I am entirely comfortable, confident, and physically capable of handling large breeds and managing strong pullers on walks with secure, attentive leash handling. I am also deeply attuned to unique personality quirks, whether a dog has high-energy mental stimulation needs, a specific grazing/eating habit that requires patience, or anxiety around changes in routine. I treat every single animal with the exact same level of devotion, love, and strict safety standards that I give my own. Because my own dog is the center of my life, a pet-centric schedule is already second nature to me. My daily routine is built entirely around consistent morning and evening walks, and plenty of dedicated playtime and mental stimulation. Integrating your pet into my schedule is easy because I am already very active, organized, and adhere to a structured routine at home. I am able to do this because I work from home and my work schedule is very flexible. Whether I am stopping by for a drop-in visit, or taking your dog for a walk, your pet becomes a natural extension of my day. I treat every single animal with the exact same level of devotion, love, and strict safety standards that I give my own. When caring for your pet in your home, my absolute highest priorities are safety, emotional comfort, and respect for your space. I will strictly adhere to your specific instructions, security preferences, and your dog’s established routine to keep their stress levels at zero and to give you peace of mind when you have to be away from them. I know how much trust it takes to let someone into your home, and to leave your furry loved one in the care of someone else. I treat every single animal with the exact same level of devotion, love, and strict safety standards that I give my own.

Jessica was great! She took time out of her night to come visit Koda the night before she walked him and see how they did with each other! She was also a great walker and was willing to just hang out with him outside of his kennel and play with his toys! We will definitely be going back to Jessica again!

About: I’ve always loved being around dogs and have plenty of hands-on experience caring for my own Vizsla. He’s an active dog, so I’m very comfortable keeping up with high-energy pups and providing plenty of exercise, playtime, and attention. I also regularly run long distances with my dog, so I’d love to take your pup along for an adventure or simply give them a fun, active walk! Most importantly, I’m responsible, attentive, and committed to making sure every dog feels safe, happy, and cared for. 🐶🐾 I currently work part time as a personal trainer most afternoons from approximately 3-8pm on week days, and 8am-noon on weekends! So I will be most available to exercise/ check in on your pup in the early mornings or late nights!😊 I live on a small lake in Bondurant with a fenced in yard and a VERY friendly Vizsla puppy named Cash!! I’ve loved every dog I have met and have never felt uncomfortable or intimidated by any behaviors. Cash and I are extremely active as well whether it’s running marathons, bicycling, swimming, or just playing around and I transfer over this experience with every dog that I provide for!😊

About: I've had cats my entire life, and my husband and I currently have two amazing but SUPER high energy little kitties named Eli and Finn. We are very obsessed, and they're spoiled! I have grown up in a very close, tight-knit family with LOTS of dogs and cats, and I've pet-sat more times than I can count. I LOVE animals and they tend to like me as well. I have experience with feeding, medicine, walking, vet visits, picking up animals from pet hotels, etc. I pet sit, house sit, and babysit for a lot of my family and friends, have been a nanny to my godson who has medical complications, and am well-trusted. My husband and I are going through fertility treatments, and the profit from my pet-sitting business will be supporting us in building our family! We would deeply appreciate your support while your pets receive great care in exchange! I'm in ministry school to become a hospital/hospice chaplain, a worship leader, and an entrepreneur, so my schedule is very flexible! I look forward to meeting your schedule needs. I am not able to keep pets at my home. I am able to go to the house site and take care of your fur babies, however, and spend time at your place to give your darlings some affection, give medicine, or whatever else you need done!

About: As a dog mama myself, I understand that our dogs are more than just our pets. They’re an integral part of our family! I strive to provide them with the necessary care they need, but also the enrichment they need to thrive and live a happy life. I love to play with them, take them out for walks, and provide them with love and pets. It’s important to me that they are not just physically cared for, but they are mentally stimulated through play and emotionally cared for at every visit. I'm always mindful that all pets should be greeted with a slow introduction, that does not come off as intrusive, or threatening. Even the most social pets, can behave differently when an unfamiliar person enters their home while family is not present. I always take that into consideration upon each visit, as I get to know your dog/cat, and build a trusting relationship. Whether your pet goes out on a leash, uses a fenced in yard, or requires potty pads to go to the bathroom, I'll follow your instructions as discussed through the Rover app, or during our initial "meet and greet". Requested information about your pet -Medication schedule -Behavioral issues that may affect walking your pet on public sidewalks, history of biting or aggression while being fed. -Ongoing medical conditions -Vet number and/or emergency contact I currently work on a hybrid schedule - 3 days in West Des Moines and 2 days at home in Ankeny. I have a flexible schedule where I can pop around to your pet when needed. I have a heart for animals along with the patience needed to give quality pet care. Your pet will always come first and I would treat them as if they are my own.

  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
