“Evan took our dogs in fairly last minute for a two night stay. They seemed happy and well, and he was very responsive through messaging. I would definitely use his services again. Thanks!”
“Our Leo stayed with Tiffany for a second time and this time was for a little over a week. Tiffany and her family welcomed him as their own and he had a wonderful time. Highly recommend Tiffany for any boarding services as she once again, has went above and beyond. She communicates well and quickly and is always so so kind and generous. Really can't recommend her enough!!”

“We are so happy to have found Lara and Cary to watch our dog! Tigey was well cared for and happy when we returned from vacation. Such a relief to find wonderful people we can trust with our dog. Will absolutely book with them again.”

“We came to Iowa for a wedding. Cory took good care of our 2 senior dogs (labs). One has separation anxiety that he was able to comfort and the other took a nap on his bed. He walked and fed them.”

“Kevin watched our pug for six nights while we were in Hawaii and kept us updated with photos and fun stories. He made us feel super comfortable, leaving our furry family member. Kevin‘s dog Ricky is a big bonus. He’s a fun little guy and Sushi loved having a friend for the week. Can’t wait to book with Kevin again in the future highly recommend.!”

“We recently boarded our dog with Melanie and it was a great experience. Melanie and her family were so nice to work with and did a great with Maya. We liked getting updates and pictures while she stayed there. Highly recommended.”

“They have watched my dog multiple times now! I won’t go to anyone else but Erin and Chris to watch my fur baby! They take care of him like he is their own dog. My dog loves to be at their house! I get daily picture updates and it always looks like he is having the time of his life. He truly gets treated like a king at their house❤️. If you are deciding who to book with, book with Erin and Chris. I promise you won’t be disappointed🤗”

“Shaelea is great to work with. She has watched my dog twice now. She is very friendly and a great communicator. She accepted my fairly last-minute request, which was so helpful. I highly recommend her to others.”

About: Hello! I am an avid dog and cat lover. I often watch my family and friends pets but aside from that I managed a cageless doggy daycare for 3 years. I own two senior cats myself. I am attentive and flexible. Always available to do meet and greet in person or over the phone prior to my services <3 helps me and your animals get an acquainted! I currently own my own business that allows me plenty of free time. I’m available most days and nights on short notice. Happy to accommodate any schedule. I do travel out of state quite a bit for my job but I will let you know immediately if my schedule were to change. I have first hand experience in handling all sizes of dogs and temperaments. Including training with dog aggressive dogs. I have experience in administering meds and first aid for both cats & dogs.
“I think Missy has got to be the best sitter my dog Bella has ever had. Not only did Missy welcome the challenge of a spicy chihuahua but she mastered it. By the end she let her hold her! And if any of you are owners of little anxious dogs you know this is a big deal!! Missy also did a great job communicating with us and sending tons of photos which we appreciated. Having Bella stay with Missy made us feel at ease, allowing us to enjoy our trip to the fullest knowing Bella was in good hands. Would highly recommend booking with Missy and I’m sure Bella looks forward to her next visit!”

“Alicia and Dan were wonderful with Gizmo and sent along awesome daily updates and photos which really set me at ease. It seems like they integrated him into their family with their little cutie as well and made Gizmo feel really comfortable and happy. I’d absolutely use their services again! A+”

“Roxy was amazing watching Jack, they treated him like one of their own dogs. We will absolutely be coming back! She sent pictures and updates which helped make his first stay easier on me.”

“Osvaldo cared for my dog when we went out of town. He sent photos and videos. He picked him and dropped him off. We will absolutely use him again. Our dog was happy and healthy!”

“This was our first time using Rover and Ivana did a fabulous job, truly going above and beyond our expectations! We felt that she treated our dog like family, exactly as we would treat her. We got daily updates/videos and in every one, our dog looked like she was having the most amazing time! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!”

“Roxxie had a great time! Lynsey is communicative, flexible, and reliable. She has the cutest little girl who knows how to interact with dogs as well. I recommend booking with her for anyone who is considering!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Pleasant Hill
I would absolutely book with Iyari again! She and her family were so kind, accommodating with shifting schedules for drop off/pick up, and they made my dog feel right at home the entire stay. They live on a gorgeous property with lots of space for pups to roam and play. It is not so hard being away from your pup when you know they’re in great hands.

Aly did such a great job with my two dogs. This is the first time they were left with someone other than family. She was great with communications and photos. I was nervous about leaving them for a week while on vacation out of state. I think both of them had a great time. We will definitely use her in the future.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
