About: I've been caring for many different kinds of animals for nearly 22 years and been caring for pets on Rover for 3! My parents raised show dogs, my grandparents had livestock and horses, and of course every kind of pet under the sun (lizards and guinea pigs included!) My goal is to provide the same top quality love and attention that you do, no matter the service or time of day! I have an entirely open schedule and availability. This means I'm able to provide the love, attention, and care your pet needs and deserves whenever you need! If you don’t see a pet-care package that suits your needs, please reach out with what you’re looking for and we can figure it out. In both my home and yours, safety and comfort are my top priority. I adjust my care to the needs of each individual pet, medical and dietary needs included! Collars are worn during any stay, air purification systems are in place for those with breathing problems, and I have security cameras installed inside the home. With these safety measures, I can guarantee a calming space full of play and snuggles for every pet while their family is away.

About: NOTE: I work weekdays throughout the school year. Still available, but pets will be at home without me on weekdays for about 7 hours. I have owned and cared for dogs for over 25 years. I have cared for small dogs <25 pounds all the way up to large sized Great Danes > 200 pounds. I have been fostering dogs for Safe Paws Iowa for the past 3 years. I am available for a large portion of the summer because I only coach softball outside of the school year. I am very active and would love to share that energy with dogs! Walking, jogging, or just playing in the doggy pool is no issue at all. I currently have two dogs of my own. They can play all together or be kept separated! I also have experience giving dogs meds as some of the dogs in my care have different long term conditions. Can’t wait to meet your precious pups! Pet care is my priority while hosting! I have a fenced in yard, my own dogs to join in play if wanted, I have gates/doors and a finished lower level where I can separate dogs if need be, and have multiple kennels. I allow my dogs on furniture, but can follow owner house rules.

About: Hi! I’m Kelsey 😊 I’m a Des Moines native living downtown and working from home full-time. I’m a proud pet mom to Charlie, my Labrador mix, and Blue, my domestic shorthair cat. They’re my babies. I’ve spent my life caring for animals and have experience with dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, and amphibians. I focus on safety, routine, and low-stress care, and I treat every pet like one of my own. I’m comfortable administering daily medications and providing extra care for senior pets or pets with special needs. I love getting to know each pet’s personality, quirks, and routine so they feel safe, happy, and right at home while you’re away. Since I work from home full-time, your pet will get lots of supervision, potty breaks, playtime, enrichment activities, treats (if approved!), and plenty of love throughout the day. I aim to create a calm, cozy, structured routine so your pet feels safe, comfortable, and right at home at the Paw Pad. Drop-off and pick-up hours are between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with earlier or later arrangements available when discussed in advance. To keep everyone safe and happy: • Pets should be friendly with people and other animals • Vaccinations and flea/tick prevention should be up to date • Owners provide food, medications, and care instructions • Please share any routines, quirks, or special needs ahead of time You’ll get photo updates during your pet’s stay — and photos taken during services may be shared on my Rover or social media pages unless requested otherwise. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I follow each pet’s routine and care instructions closely, maintain a clean and secure environment, and provide hands-on supervision throughout the day since I work from home full-time. Pets are introduced slowly and thoughtfully when needed, and I always prioritize calm, positive interactions. Each pet has access to a comfortable space to relax, eat, and sleep. I stay observant of behavior, appetite, energy levels, and overall wellbeing to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for.

About: I have been working with dogs since I was in fifth grade. I started off as an avid dog show girl and I learned quickly how to train dogs and realized I love working with animals. I started teaching other people how to train dogs when I was 15 and when I turned 18 got my license to judge dog shows! I have had dogs come to my house when they were puppies and I taught them basic commands while I watched them for a week. For the past few years I have done sitting in the dogs home, but now that I have my own pup I am starting to board here. I have worked with dogs of all sizes, ages, and with different mannerisms and I aim to make them feel at home in my care. I have experience giving injections and oral medicine, as well as caring for dogs who can not easily get around on their own. I currently work in West Des Moines, if you book me during the week for overnights I will be gone during the days but drop in over my lunch for potty breaks! On the weekends I try to stay at the house as much as possible unless you just need short drop ins! I will always make sure I know the best way to care for your babies! Whether it is always watching the door for escape artists, or double checking their harnesses before every walk. I want you to always feel and ease and I do not take this job lightly, as these are not just animals but a member of your family!

About: Dogs have always been in my life. I volunteered at Animal Lifeline for 8 years and had a dog daycare of my own for a while. Dogs are everything and I’d be honored to love on yours. I currently work full time from home so doggie day care is definitely doable! My day ends at 3 pm so I can be that late afternoon or evening potty break or walk. Weekends have potential as long well with pre-arranged time and notice. Should your dog(s) stay with me during the day, I have a fenced yard and no carpet in case of oopsies! If you request that I come to your house I am very reliable, responsible and respectful. I can guarantee a boat load of scritches and belly rubs as well as time for “business”.
