“Great communicator & clearly enjoys caring for animals. We received great pics of the boys playing and eating. Both cats are on different prescription diets and it can get complicated. Sophia navigated it with ease. Will definitely use Sophia again.”

“Sheena was wonderful! Our kitty is diabetic and gave her a bit of a hard time at first, but Sheena was so calm and patient and kind to him. Before long he was curled up in her lap purring during every visit ?”

“Thank you, Jessie, for taking such excellent care of our two kitties! We appreciate your upbeat and timely responses that allows us to totally relax while on vacation knowing our kitties are in your loving care. Thank you, Jessie, also for your thoughtful and conscientious time you spent with the kitties and a much appreciated cleanup so that we return home to a happy fur family. You’re the best!”

“Debra is super flexible and accommodating and has been so great to work with as i start a new job and figure out a new schedule that works for me and my little guy. Im glad to get to work with her!”

“Olivia was available on short notice when our regular sitter was not available. She followed instructions, provided regular updates, and took great care of our cat. Thanks, Olivia!”

“Although I have already reviewed Ben's excellent work and care for my pets, I need to add an anecdote highlighting the concern he showed for my cat this past Christmas. Ben noticed that Devereux had been straining to urinate in his litter box, and called my attention to it. Unfortunately it was Christmas Eve, but this can be an emergency scenario for cats. His experience led him to conclude it was not a blocked bladder because his bladder was empty and soft, but he nonetheless suggested contacting the vet. When I talked with the vet on December 27th, the first time they responded, they suggested I bring him in immediately. Ben had him at the vet within the HOUR. The vet ended up agreeing with Ben's assessment, and gave him some medication to relieve his irritated bladder. He was home, comfortable and safe, a few hours later. If the unexpected emergency crops up with your pet, you want a sitter like Ben who will get them the care they need. Bravo and thank you.”

About: I’ve loved cats ever since I was little and continued to spread my love for them throughout my years. I’m currently caring for my sisters cat when she is away/busy and offer my help to friends when they need it. As of right now my schedule is pretty free during the day. I prefer working during 11am - 5pm on weekdays. I am open to other times if discussed prior. When given instructions to care for your pet, I take them seriously and will do my best to make your pet comfortable and happy when you are away.

About: I have spent my entire life surrounded by animals of all sizes and temperaments. I am very comfortable handling a wide range of personalities on and off leash. Currently I have two dogs who are reactive, so I’m very familiar with managing behavior challenges calmly and safely. I’m experienced in giving medications when needed and take pride in providing calm, consistent, and loving care. I have a flexible schedule, a reliable vehicle, and am open to helping with overnights. I am not working elsewhere currently so I'm ready to make caring for your pet part of my routine! This also enables me to be much more flexible to fit you and your pet's needs. I am able to care for them in your home only at this time. This way they will feel their most comfortable while we get to know each other.

“Sarah did such a fantastic job watching over my kitties. Both of my cats seemed to warm up to her immediately (usually it takes a few days). My kitties looked happy in all of the update pictures and I would absolutely have Sarah watch over my kitties again. Thank you so much!”

About: Hi, I'm Philip! I grew up with animals, and have always been around them for as long as I can remember. I started helping to take care of our cats, dogs, fish, and birds at home when I was about 7 years old, and have taken more complex and more numerous animal responsibilities since then. I've cared for cats, dogs, birds, fish, and even lizards for friends, family, and community throughout my teens and adult life. Daily pet care is as much a part of my routine as much as it is for the pets. I'm a scientist and engineer by trade, and I try to incorporate data on behavior, hygiene, and diet into my pet care practices (while prioritizing data from you, the pet parent!). I respect each animal's unique situation, and always do my best to make sure their needs and sensitivities are met. I've been told that I spoil pets by devoting so much time and energy to them, but so far none of the animals have complained! I promise that your fur babies will be in good hands. Thanks for considering me! I'm currently working part-time, and I currently live in an apartment with my partner and our cats. I'm not currently able to offer board for animals, but I am happy to check in, walk, or pet-sit/house-sit any day after 1pm, overnight on weekends, or overnight on pre-scheduled days of the week. I keep a list (whether mental or physical) of each pet's unique needs, and I incorporate their care into my daily routine. I always start by checking in with the pet themself, and let them know I'm there with them. I'll move on to other priorities and needs, as I'm informed about them. I always make sure to spend enough time with a pet to learn their habits, as well as their "tells" if something is wrong. I'm also big on open communication, and am happy to send text, photo, or video updates during each visit!

“Leanna is excellent with animals and my cat Odie very quickly warmed up to her. She left detailed notes on the app each day when she fed and played with Odie. I’ll be a return customer!”

“Kimberly was truly amazing. She was able to look after our two cats last minute after our other cat sitter had a family emergency. She was incredibly responsive and made sure to keep us updated with very detailed notes and sent us the cutest photos which made my day. She even got our ghost cat to come out of hiding to play (no small feat)!! She went above and beyond when she cleaned all of the litter my cat decided to throw out of the litter box and around the bathroom (I am so sorry for that) and just was overall an amazing cat sitter. I cannot recommend Kimberly enough. We will be sure to contact her again in the future!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs my whole life. Growing up, my siblings and I shared the responsibility of feeding, walking, and playing with our two family dogs. I also frequently dog-sat and cat-sat for neighbors whenever they went out of town. Now that I’m home from college for the summer, I’m excited to get back into pet care. I’ve always had a strong connection with animals, and I promise to treat your pets with the same love and attention I give my own. I'm home from college for the summer and have a very flexible schedule. I'm available most days and times to care for your pets. Whether it's walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays, just let me know what you need! I have a fully fenced backyard where your pets can play and explore safely. I also live with two friendly dogs who get along well with other animals, but I can keep them separated if needed to ensure everyone’s comfort. Additionally, I’m happy to care for your pets in your home, whether you have an open backyard, a kennel, or any other setup. Your pet’s safety and happiness are always my top priority.

About: I have a range of experience from puppies to senior dogs, and love all of the personalities that come with different breeds. Our dog growing up was reactive from being involved in getting bullied as a puppy, and understand the nuances that come with dogs who need more patience and care. I love all animals like they’re my own, and love sending updates as regularly as needed to make you comfortable! I work from home (fully remote, no office to go into) and can work from anywhere I need to, my schedule is flexible as I’m a team of one and run HR at a start-up. I have no kids or pets of my own here. Your pet’s needs are my number 1 priority the second they come into my care, whether I’m visiting your home or they come to mine. Pets are treated with the upmost respect, love, and attention no matter what. I will never accept a request unless I can 120% commit myself to your baby!

About: We live with our pup Stella and 2 bunnies. Our kids, age 11 and 13, love animals and are accustomed to helping dogs feel comfortable in a new place. When we aren’t sitting we volunteer for the “dogs day out” program at SBCAS. Though Rover doesn't list rabbit/gerbil/guinea pig care, that is something we are experienced with and you can select “dog visit” for that. We also have cat care experience from fostering kittens. On a typical day someone is always at home. Our walks are usually on More Mesa but we also love hikes and beach walks! For tiny dogs we’re happy to limit the walks to our neighborhood for safety. Our pets are our family and safety is #1. We understand the level of trust you put in someone to have them cared for while you’re away.

About: Hi pet parent! Since childhood up until now I’ve been around pets. From Rottweiler to pit bull to Havanese and Jhasa Apso, I’ve lived aith them. Now, with my opinionated rescue husky (who's learning to 'speak' using communication buttons!), dogs have been my lifelong teachers in the art of canine connection. Growing up in a family also obsessed with cats means I'm equally comfortable with feline friends and their more independent personalities. What truly sets my care apart is my specialized training in animal communication and engagement. As a graduate of FluentPet Academy's Button Bootcamp and two rounds of their Let's Get Them Pressing course, I've developed skills in cross-species communication that go beyond basic care. I understand pet body language at a deep level and can recognize subtle cues that many miss, allowing me to respond more effectively to your pet's needs and wants. Additionally, my ongoing education through Goleta Valley Dog Club's Fun with Focus course (which I've attended multiple times yearly since 2020) has equipped me with positive reinforcement techniques that make our time together both enjoyable and enriching for your pet. During my visits to your home, I maintain your pet's normal routine while incorporating these specialized approaches. Each visit includes all the essentials—fresh water, proper feeding, necessary medications, and potty breaks—plus quality interaction informed by my training in animal communication. I provide engaging walks for dogs and interactive play for all pets, sending photo updates throughout so you can see your pet is happy and thriving. Your home remains secure and tidy, and your pet receives care from someone who truly understands what they're trying to tell us! I prioritize maintaining your pet's comfortable routine in their familiar environment. My adaptable work hours allow me to schedule visits around your pet's needs, ensuring they receive consistent care and attention throughout the day. While my primary availability is Thursday and Friday, I understand pets don't recognize weekends on the calendar! If you occasionally need weekend or holiday coverage, I'm open to discussing how I might accommodate those special circumstances based on my schedule. Your pet's comfort and happiness are my priority, and I'm committed to providing reliable, loving care in the place they feel most secure—their own home! I believe pets thrive when they can stay in their familiar territory, surrounded by their favorite toys, smells, and sleeping spots. When caring for your pet in your home, my first priority is maintaining their normal routine while adding a touch of extra love and attention. Before starting care, I'll carefully document your pet's schedule, dietary needs, medication requirements, and favorite activities. Each visit includes the essentials—fresh water, proper feeding, necessary medications, and potty breaks—plus quality playtime tailored to your pet's energy level and preferences. For dogs, I provide engaging walks that balance exercise with exploration time, adjusting the pace and duration to suit your dog's age and fitness level. For indoor pets like cats, I ensure clean litter boxes and interactive play sessions that satisfy their hunting instincts. Throughout my visit, I'll send updates with photos so you can see your pet is happy and well-cared for. I'm also attentive to your home, bringing in mail, watering plants if requested, and ensuring everything stays secure and tidy. Your peace of mind is just as important as your pet's contentment!

“Maria was awesome! She is very kind, professional, and responsive. Our cats loved her instantly. She has a kind, responsible, calm energy that will assure you that your pets are in good hands. We will 100 percent reach out to Maria next time.”

“Anna was great and very helpful in taking care of my two cats while I was traveling!”

But the dog and the person were so lovely, thoughtful, and easy to get along with that we became friends, and now she is our favorite go-to whenever we go out of town and need a place for our husky to stay. With Kim you can immediately tell how much she cares for animals. She really connects with them and meets them where they are at.
