About: I've volunteered at the Santa Barbra County Animal Shelter for the last 2 years and worked at The little Dog House as an assistant for 2 years, I've also helped look after my neighbors cats and dog for over a year now. I'm currently attending college part time, so I will have plenty of time to spend with your precious little friend. I am looking forward to helping you care for your furry friend! I have a fenced yard and a Labradoodle of my own to help your furry friend feel right at home. There is plenty of walking areas around to get fresh air.

“Sheena was a good caretaker for our cat, Apollo. She knows how to administer insulin and is passionate about caring for animals. She even went out of her way to bring Apollo extra toys and treats.”
About: I've spent the last 4 years caring for other people's pets through dog walks, house sitting, feeding, and administering medications. As a pet owner myself with two dogs and one cat, I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets like family. I have experience working with anxious pets and always take the time to learn each pet's unique personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a calm, patient approach, I'm committed to providing dependable, loving care while you're away. My goal is to ensure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you peace of mind. Pet care fits very easily into my daily and weekly routine since I make my own work schedule. I have a flexible availability, which allows me to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on your pet’s needs. I’m able to adjust my day around walks, drop-ins, feeding schedules, and house sitting to ensure consistent and reliable care. Because of this flexibility, I can provide dependable attention and stick closely to each pet’s normal routine, making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owner is away. I ensure pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment and daily routine. I always take the time to understand each pet’s specific needs, personality, and any special instructions before care begins. Safety and trust are my top priorities, and I follow all owner guidelines closely, including feeding schedules, medication instructions, and exercise routines.
“She is an excellent sitter for our two cats. This was our second time and we will happily hire her again in future. She goes above and beyond; in the warm weather she visited an additional time just to make sure our cats weren’t too hot. We are comfortable traveling with the knowledge that our kitties are in good hands.”

About: I have years of experience with both cats and dogs as personal pets and pet sitting jobs throughout my life. I am experienced with cats at all levels, I have experience with elderly dogs and I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes. My number one priority at all times is the safety and care of your pet. I am currently a student at UC Santa Barbara, I have classes from the morning til early afternoon Monday-Wednesday. I am available mornings through evenings the rest of the week. While caring for your pet(s) ensuring its safety and care is my top priority. My goal is to care for your pet the way you want me to, I always love to meet your expectations and build my care for your pet around your circumstances.
“Kimberly was truly amazing. She was able to look after our two cats last minute after our other cat sitter had a family emergency. She was incredibly responsive and made sure to keep us updated with very detailed notes and sent us the cutest photos which made my day. She even got our ghost cat to come out of hiding to play (no small feat)!! She went above and beyond when she cleaned all of the litter my cat decided to throw out of the litter box and around the bathroom (I am so sorry for that) and just was overall an amazing cat sitter. I cannot recommend Kimberly enough. We will be sure to contact her again in the future!”

About: I’ve done a lot of dog walking for my neighbors when I was in highschool for money because everyone knew I loved dogs and would do it. I’ve never done this professionally before but I have a dog and almost all dogs can sense my love for them and typically love me. I’m very active and can walk for hours so I can do walks of any length necessary. I have a lot of time in between classes and on the weekends where I don’t have much to do and could definitely handle some walks or check ins. Big animal lover and empath here who will care for your pet like it is my own I can promise that. I have always been more empathetic toward animals honestly than humans.

About: I’m a lifelong pet owner and love all animals—big and small! I recently moved to Santa Barbara for work and am excited to start petsitting here. For over ten years, I’ve been caring for other people’s pets, always making sure their pets are treated with lots of love. I have worked with animals of all ages from puppies to older animals, even have put on doggy diapers! I have also worked with animals with different behavioral problems or those that have medications. I love all animals and also have experience with cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits. I am happy to keep your animal with whatever routine they have to make them as comfortable as possible. One of my favorite parts of Santa Barbara is all of the trails and would love to take your pup on some adventures (with your approval of course). I have my own australian cattle dog if you’d want your pup to have a play date. Otherwise lots of walks if that’s something that your pup is interested in too! I’ll be sure to treat your special pets with lots of love when you’re away! :) I recently moved to Goleta to start a job at a nonprofit. I work from home two days a week and can let your dog out at lunch as needed. I prioritize making your pet feels comfortable when you’re away and I hope to keep their routine as best as I can. I also respect anything that you wish me to follow. I’m also happy to help water plants or take out the trash when watching your pet.
About: I’ve always been surrounded by pets my entire life and going away to college has been hard because I don’t get those animal connections as often now. I have dog-sat for family and friends a lot in the past and I’ve always really enjoyed it. I am a third year student at UCSB and have a very flexible schedule to help meet the needs of your pet. I am usually more available in the afternoons, but I’m always willing to switch things around to hang out with pets. I am an extremely active person, so long walks or lots of play time are not a problem at all. I’m also very open to taking care of multiple pets at the same time.

About: I raised a beagle puppy when I was in highschool and it was the most rewarding (sometimes insufferable) experience! I have always been the one to call when my friends go on trips and need someone to watch their pets. I have walked all kinds of dogs for friends family and neighbors throughout my life. Anyone who knows me knows nothing makes me happier than being around animals! As of right now I have most of the time in the afternoons and at night for walking or sitting. If I need to come by early in the morning to feed I am willing to as well! I trained my own dog to sleep in the crate and therefore can take care of that with your pet! I love to walk and would be happy to play outside with them whenever I can.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Isla Vista
Carrie was absolutely wonderful! She provided drop in visits while we were away, took great care of my senior chihuahua, and even got one of our cats to cuddle (they don't always come out for strangers)! I really appreciate her care and everything was in perfect order when we got back. Thank you Carrie!

Cambryel took great care of our pets and home over a four-day trip. She was a clear and prompt communicator, always on time, provided regular updates and photos, and made us feel comfortable leaving our pets in her care. We would definitely rebook with her in the future and recommend her as a sitter!

This was my second time booking with Christy. She has been amazing as the last time. She kept me updated about every single thing, sent photos and followed all the instructions. Incredibly reliable and even got my shy cats out to play. I cannot recommend her enough. She always goes above and beyond, stays more than her time limit to make sure my cats are okay and settled in. 100% would book her again!

Sarah is so wonderful! She took great care of all my animals (3 cats, 1 dog) while I was away, and handled a last minute medication addition. She is communicative and reliable. Would absolutely utilize her services again and recommend her to anyone needing someone to entrust their pets care to. Thank you, Sarah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
