“Saidy goes above and beyond to take care of your pets, she is very professional and cares for all animals, she asks questions and makes sure your animals have their needs met whatever that may be. She also goes the extra mile while watching your home for extended stays and makes sure everything is in order. She was great with our dogs and even looked after our fish and lizard. About: I've spent the last 4 years caring for other people's pets through dog walks, house sitting, feeding, and administering medications. As a pet owner myself with two dogs and one cat, I understand how important it is to find someone who will care for your pets like family. I have experience working with anxious pets and always take the time to learn each pet's unique personality, routine, and needs. Whether your pet is energetic and playful or prefers a calm, patient approach, I'm committed to providing dependable, loving care while you're away. My goal is to ensure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving you peace of mind. Pet care fits very easily into my daily and weekly routine since I make my own work schedule. I have a flexible availability, which allows me to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits depending on your pet’s needs. I’m able to adjust my day around walks, drop-ins, feeding schedules, and house sitting to ensure consistent and reliable care. Because of this flexibility, I can provide dependable attention and stick closely to each pet’s normal routine, making sure they feel comfortable and cared for while their owner is away. I ensure pets remain comfortable in their familiar environment and daily routine. I always take the time to understand each pet’s specific needs, personality, and any special instructions before care begins. Safety and trust are my top priorities, and I follow all owner guidelines closely, including feeding schedules, medication instructions, and exercise routines.
“So happy that our boy was able to be cared for by charlotte. She is so sweet and even though our pup has total stranger danger we got photos of him being totally calm with her during the evening. Would absolutely have charlotte watch him again in the future!”

About: I’ve been taking care of my neighbors dogs for years and also have a dog of my own: in which I feed, walk, and just hang out with their pets. I have my days open throughout the day and evenings I work but will still have time to take care of your pets. Leaving my attention to your furry animals! I make sure to get outside with the dogs at least a couple times a day, whether it be long walks or dog parks. Of course keeping to a routine that the dog has with their owner.

About: I've loved animals for forever and now that I'm in college miss spending time with them! I've had dogs all my life and have petsit for many family members and friends with all sorts of animals. Back home in Colorado I volunteered for my local animal shelter to walk dogs and contributed over 100 hours of my time in my senior year. I would love to be a part of your furry loved one's life! I am currently a college student at UCSB and work part-time so I have a very flexible schedule throughout the weekdays meaning I can provide care at pretty much any time! I am very detail oriented and carefully follow all instructions for your home and pet, so you don't have anything to worry about when you are away!

“Reece was very attentive to the individual needs of both our older dog with dietary needs and our puppy who is full of energy. She sent daily pictures and updates and was easy to communicate with.”

About: Hi! We’re Jessa and Justin, a married couple and local professionals who genuinely love animals. We understand how important it is to trust the people caring for your pets and your home. Jessa works as an optician in Santa Barbara, and Justin is the Operations Manager for a local community park, where he oversees a private off-leash dog membership program. Through his work, Justin has experience interacting with dogs of all breeds, sizes, temperaments, and energy levels. We were devoted dog parents for more than 20 years and recently became empty-nesters after saying goodbye to our beloved 17yo pup, Scootch. Caring for animals has always been a central part of our lives. We have spent years pet sitting for friends, family, and neighbors, and we’re excited to continue sharing our time, care, and love with dogs in our community. Our goal is to provide calm, reliable, and attentive care that helps your pets feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. We believe pets do best when they can stay in their familiar routine and environment, so we focus on making their days as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. We’re experienced with: * Senior dogs * Anxious or shy dogs * Daily walks and exercise * Administering medications * Maintaining feeding and potty routines * Providing companionship, patience, and lots of affection You’ll receive regular updates, photos, and prompt communication so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pets are in caring hands. We’re dependable, respectful, and treat every home with the same care we would our own. We look forward to meeting you and giving your pets the love, attention, and care they deserve. When caring for pets in a client’s home, we respect their routines, boundaries, feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any special instructions to help pets feel secure and comfortable while their owners are away. We pay close attention to behavior, safety, leash security, medications, and household rules, and we always keep communication open with regular updates and photos. We’re clean, dependable, and respectful of clients’ homes, and we understand the trust involved in caring for both someone’s pets and personal space. Because of our experience with anxious and senior dogs, we’re especially mindful of creating a calm presence and maintaining consistency and routine.
“Lisa was incredible!! One of our pups is anxious around new people and Lisa was able to quickly win him over & they had so much fun with her all weekend. Thank you so much Lisa we can’t wait to have you watch Brixton and Lana again!”

“Another great job by Debra. She left the house clean and our dog appeared to be well taken care of. Debra was accommodating/flexible with our start time and willing to get up early with our senior dog. She also sent updates and was quick to respond. Thank you!”

“Chrystal is awesome! She was so sweet with our senior dog, Charlie, and took such good care of him. She even brought him some homemade treats! She ensured she had plenty of time for our meet and greet, so I'd have a chance to get to know her a little before committing to having her care for Charlie in our home. I really appreciated that. She was very respectful and flexible, and checked in about our return time, to make sure Charlie would have the care he needed if we returned later than expected.”

About: I’ve spent over 30 years caring for dogs and other animals, both personally and professionally. My approach is intuitive, compassionate, and grounded in a lifetime of hands-on experience. I run a local Montecito dog walking business, working with dogs of all breeds and specializing in big, athletic, and high-energy dogs. Pet care fits naturally into my lifestyle. As a Montecito-based business owner and endurance athlete, I spend much of my time on the trails and beaches — often with a dog by my side. My lifelong love of animals, combined with my endurance background, makes me especially well-suited for larger or high-energy breeds. I genuinely love bonding with dogs and take pride in being a calm, confident presence — a natural pack leader they can trust. I care for the dogs I walk as if they were my own — with plenty of love, attention, and respect for their individual needs. I’m known for giving dogs the exercise they truly crave, whether that’s an energizing trail walk, a beach romp, or a steady neighborhood outing. I stay fully present and engaged, making sure each walk is safe, stimulating, and tailored to the dog’s energy level and personality.

I’m currently working part time, and would be free to pet sit and walk pets either early mornings or after 4pm on the weekdays. As for weekends, I am available any time of day! I will always make sure to care for my client’s pets in proper ways in their home that stay familiar with the pets usual routine, and in ways that keep the home clean!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Isla Vista
Mallory hit it out of the ballpark! My dogs love her and get super excited when they see her. She was also able to keep their routine. She spent time working in the office where the pups are used to taking a nap. I appreciate that she she took the time to ask us several questions about them so that she could get to know their little personalities. Mallory kept us updated, and overall did a phenomenal job of both taking care of our pups overnight and keeping our house tidy. Definitely recommend!

Jessica was fantastic. She cared for Sadie during a tough time where our girl was having some stomach problems and we got updates from Jessica throughout our trip to keep up informed on her progress. We appreciate Jessica so much and we recommend her for all pet sitting needs.

Saidy was absolutely wonderful with my puppy, Lumi, while I was away. She kept me updated with plenty of photos and videos, took Lumi on walks, made sure she had lots of playtime, and gave me complete peace of mind throughout my trip. What really stood out was her flexibility and kindness on my last day. My flight was unexpectedly delayed, and Saidy was able to extend the booking to make sure Lumi was fed, exercised, and well cared for until I could get home. Knowing my puppy was in such capable and caring hands during a stressful day of travel was an incredible relief. Saidy truly went above and beyond. I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter, and I’ll absolutely be booking with her again. A+ all around - highly recommend!

Anasazi was great with my dog Willow! She’s very responsible and punctual, and I trust her with the details like giving medication and putting Willow’s shoes on before walks. She was also very accommodating when my flight got cancelled and kindly stayed an extra day. I came home to a clean apartment and happy dog. Highly recommend and I’ll definitely rebook with her in the future!

Julia was fantastic with Brix! He can be a little anxious around new people, but he warmed right up to her and seemed so happy and comfortable the whole weekend. We loved the updates and photos she sent throughout our trip—it was great knowing he was in such good hands. She also left our house spotless, which we really appreciated. Thanks so much Julia!!

We had a family emergency and had never used Rover before. We were so lucky to find Sam and have her agree to watch our two dogs (one senior) and (very senor) cat. Sam was amazing. She kept us up to date with pictures and text messages. She made a very stressful situation a little bit better. We will definitely ask her to watch our dogs and cat another time.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Isla Vista walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Isla Vista maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Isla Vista choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Isla Vista. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
