Mariela has been my five-day a week walker for my two Labradors for the past two months. She has shown great care with my dogs. Having a senior dog and a puppy is a challenge, but Mariela recognizes their individual needs and is very patient with both of them. I’m glad to have someone I can trust taking care of my pups each day!

The absolute BEST dog walker we've ever had!!! I have two crazy 12 year old Husky mixes with very different needs. One is high-energy, loves to run, get into trouble and chase anything with fur or feathers. The other is arthritic, vocal and very stubborn. Sarah has been able to keep them properly exercised, entertained and above all SAFE for two years :) We are so lucky to have found her--she is an absolute GEM! I would recommend her in a heartbeat, but after seeing the 90+ glowing reviews, she doesn't need it.

Zack was very conscientious in meeting Trixie before our set schedule of walks. He was aware of her sniffing for food all the time and made sure to stop that behavior. We were able to be flexible with our schedule and his. I would hire him again

About: Ever since I was 17 I’ve been taking care of dogs from family friends to school friends! Ive had over 7 dogs of my own and have trained most of them with my brothers help! I do work at an animal hospital so I’m qualified to give medications as well as being able to notice and take care of minor medical situations like digestive issues. I’m able to give nail trims and do eat and eye cleanings do to my experience with my 3 Maltese and I’m able to handle bigger breed dogs with a lot of energy since I have had several pit bulls and retrievers! I’m always keeping parents updated since I know how much we miss our fur babies! Very open to accommodations! I’m currently working at the animal hospital during the mornings on weekdays and some weekends but I’m always able to switch shifts around if necessary :) When at your home I will make sure your pet feels safe around me and doesn’t feel like I’m Intruding in its home! (Please feel free to leave me notes on your pets personality so I can better adjust the way I interact/play with them to make them feel as comfortable as needed!)

About: Hi! I’m Karilyn! Dogs have always been important members of my family. I have experience managing daily pet care, safety, and offering attention. I am most experienced with larger dog breeds, but am familiar with breeds of all sizes and shapes. I prefer to not be out after dark, but am pretty flexible walk-by-walk. Otherwise my availability is as marked. If we’ve established a good relationship, I’m happy to be flexible! On walks, safety is my number one priority. This means secure leashes, alertness to both the environment and the individual dog. This also means catering to sensitivities and preferences of the owner AND the dog. I love to interact with animals, and understand their signals and boundaries. It also important that the pets in my care are hydrated and feeling well after spending time with me.

About: Dog owner for 17 years, cat owner my whole life. I’m very active love long walks and cuddles. I just lost my 15 year old dog so I’m familiar with senior care and we currently have a puppy so I’m dealing with that so I can handle anything. I work from home so I can do before work (early mornings), midday and afternoons. I can stop in for feedings and or walks. Maybe just cuddles if that’s needed. Fenced yard, 2 friendly dogs. I can stop by for feedings/walks. Very trustworthy mom of 3 grown children. My pups are my world and I know you feel the same about yours.

About: My wife, son and I have taken care of pets our entire lives. Currently, we have only one elderly cat with special medical needs. Recently retired, we would love to adopt a dog but our frequent travel (to visit grandchildren) makes that a challenge. That travel helps us understand the stress and anxiety of leaving a pet in the care of others. We enjoy walking and playing with dogs (and cats!) and enjoy being in our yard, which opens to a field in the back, perfect for fetch. We will fill the day with a lot of activity and attention in a safe and secure environment. We are home full time and will have plenty of opportunity for walks, play time and potty breaks. During the school year, but my wife and I are home... and in summer months, our young-adult son will help as well. We have a spacious yard but it is not fenced so we would keep your dog on a long leash while outside. At night, we can easily crate, depending on the pet-parents preferences.

About: I’ve had dogs in my family since I was a kid, and I absolutely adore them - so this made it a no brainer for me to continue caring for dogs throughout high school & college! When I first began working with dogs, I devoted much of my time to learning & identifying their behaviors so that I could take care of them by truly understanding them - which is knowledge that I still think of and use to this day! I’ve been consistently pet sitting dogs since I was 12 - and I’m 20 now! I fill up much of my time caring for my friend’s dogs as well for those in my community, all of which I treat as if they were my own! I work at a Pet Lodging/Daycare facility in my hometown and it truly is the best job I’ve ever had. Getting to take care of and hang out with dogs genuinely brings me so much joy and I look forward to continue doing so! I’m currently a full time student, so any time that I’m not in classes/on projects - I’m more than happy to lend a helping hand and take care of whatever your dog might need! I’ve listed my availability below! Mon: 5AM-10AM / 2PM-11PM / Overnight Care Tuesday: 5AM-4PM / 8PM-11PM / Overnight Care Wednesday: 5AM-10AM / 2PM-11PM / Overnight Care Thursday: 5AM-4PM / 8PM-11PM / Overnight Care Friday: All day / Overnight Care Saturday: All day / Overnight Care Sunday: All day / Overnight Care In my clients homes, I treat their space and animals with the upmost respect and attentive care. I note all safety concerns and practice focused awareness so that I can ensure your home & pet remain incredibly safe and cared for! I always review notes from pet owners - which helps me prioritize respecting their wishes & boundaries, as well as fulfilling any instructions/requests tied to the care of their pets!

  • 97% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
