“Richard was excellent watching my dogs overnight at my place for two nights. He was very loving and patient with my anxious pupper and by the end they were getting along great. Richard was also a very respectful house guest and left the place better than he found it. Highly recommend!”

“Ida and Travis were amazing to work with! They sent tons of cute photos of my cats, were the best communicators, and even left my home cleaner than they found it. They were very attentive to learning about my cats' needs and managing challenges like my sticky front door key. I'd definitely use them again!”

“If there were 6 stars, I'd give them to Hollie. She is the epitome of conscientious, responsible, and caring. Our flight home was delayed and she even changed her plans so she could stay longer. Our shih tzu loves being with her - from a drop-in walk to a 3-night stay - and we're eager to have Hollie back as soon as our next need arises. I cannot recommend this sitter more highly.”

“Shivani was incredible and the best sitter we’ve had! She took such great care of our pup, our two cats, and our home. Our pup is fairly reactive and has some big feelings about the world, so it can be hard to find people she is comfortable with. She seemed to be quite at ease with Shivani and enjoyed her time with her! Our shy cat also loved Shivani! Shivani also sent a lot of updates about our pets, which was soooo incredibly helpful and really put us at ease while we were away! Truly can’t say enough positive things about her and we will definitely ask her to sit for us in the future!”

“Nicole was fantastic. She was so patient with my two maniacs, sent plenty of pictures and updates, was punctual, professional and communicative. I highly recommend her for all of your pet needs and look forward to her sitting with Henley and Jones again!”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. for my neighbors and friends since I was 10 years old. I have taken care of newborn animals and senior animals. I am fully free for the summer! I can pop by your house, go on walks, or keep your pet company at home. I am looking forward to taking care of your pet! I will make sure that your pet feels comfortable with me in their home and spend time playing with them or simply keeping them company. I will also love to go on long walks with your dog if requested!
“Iris was a pleasure to work with. She was responsive and considerate with our short timeline and sensitive dog. She bonded quickly with June after a couple of initial meet and greets, and was patient with her and communicative with us during her stay. We can’t wait for her to look after June again!”

“G’la was great with our two dogs! We loved all of the wonderful pictures she sent and our dogs clearly had a good time. She even went above and beyond to coordinate visits with our landlord while we were away. Thanks, G’la!”

“Kaiya helped us last minute with a drop in over the holidays for our 2 medium sized rescue dogs. She was very kind and patient with them. She was easy to communicate with and asked good questions which helped me feel reassured. We will be working with her again.”

“Meshaal took great care of our 55 lb pup and our cat in our home while we were on vacation! They were thorough in preparing for the job, very communicative while we were away, and followed all of our feeding and exercise instructions. We would definitely have Meshaal sit for us again!”

About: I have had and cared for pets since childhood, rescuing (literally from the streets) a lovely pitbull named Olive when I lived in Philadelphia. Moved to CA in May 2026 from East Coast. I recently moved to CA to support my wife’s new job in SF. I have a fully open schedule at the moment and with a love of animals I thought that this would be a better way to learn and love my new community than digging through online job ads. I am willing to sit, play, walk, feed and care for your pets as needed. I’m an active (formerly collegiate) runner and can go as fast or slowly as your pet needs. I have reliable transportation and experience in pet first aid as I recently completed my tenure as an Emergency Manager with the American Red Cross.
“Nicky did great with my dog. He isn’t super comfortable with others taking care of him, but he seemed really at ease with Nicky and warmed up quickly. I was able to not worry about him while out of town, knowing that he was being taken care of. Thanks, Nicky”

About: I have taken care of dogs and cats my whole life. I have seen pets through life from young to elderly, providing medications and cleaning up countless messes. Nothing will surprise me. I attune to pet personalities well: I love snuggling with the snuggly ones, take care around skittish ones, and everything in between. I am punctual and respectful of your time and space. I’m currently working part-time from home and I am available on short notice to provide care for your loved ones. I am quick to respond and can travel within the East Bay comfortably. I provide loving care in the form of house and pet-sitting, dog walking, feeding, medications, play time, snuggling, and more. I am a highly attuned individual, so I will learn your pet’s needs and meet them where they are at. I work comfortably with pets with boundaries, aggression, skittishness, and other high needs. As a house and pet-sitter, I always leave the home exactly as I found it. I respect your property and make your pet’s safety the highest priority. I will follow your guidelines to the letter and I’m happy to send you pictures to help your mind be at ease.
About: I’ve fostered and volunteered with a wide variety of animals over the last 10 years including cats, dogs, rabbits, reptiles, and farm animals. I’ve worked with a variety of ages (neonatal to senior), treated a variety of medical conditions (requiring medications, injections, and inhalers), and cared for animals of all temperaments (dog reactive, anxious, etc.) I’m currently a full time student at Berkeley Law but I’m usually on campus for only 5 or so hours a day. During the summer, I will be working remotely. On weekends, I am available all day. I will ensure that your pet stays in their usual routine while providing them plenty of love and attention. I will respect the animals boundaries in your home and build trust by creating a safe environment while you are gone.
“Honestly there’s nothing I can say to convey how wonderful and at ease our dog was with him. He was attentive to our fur baby and treated him like we would. It was nice to enjoy our night out and not have to worry about our dog because we knew that Thomas was everything and more than we can ask for in a dog sitter. Our fur baby was truly in good hands.”

“Ollie took to Samantha right away. Judging from all of the great pictures Samantha shared when sending her daily updates, he looked like he was having a really good time while we were away. We would most definitely ask Samantha to dog- and housesit again if and when the need arises. 😊”

“Cara is the absolute best. She takes such good care of my dog, who is always psyched to see her. And she leaves my home so neat. I have such peace of mind leaving my dog in her care. Couldn’t recommend more!”

Forestland pet parents share their Rover experiences
We had a meet and greet with Sumaira for our need to have doggie care, cat care and house sitting for a week. Sumaira has lots of experience and confidence which put us at ease. Our senior cat requires daily meds 2xs per day and our newly adopted 5 y.o. Golden can be rambunctious- Sumaira was at ease caring for both. Our home was well taken care of and she even helped with an unexpected delivery. We received daily pictures and reassurances that all was well. We recommend Sumaira and will ask her to help us again soon.

David and Mabel took excellent care of our 2 year old lab. It was great knowing our puppy was comfortable at home with professional and thoughtful care. They understand dogs, how to care for them and the importance of communicating with the pet parents. Our home was left cleaner than when we left, which we greatly appreciated! We will definitely continue to use them when we are away!

I have never used Rover before and Erin by far exceeded every expectation I had. We had her stay with our newly adopted dog for two nights and our dog loved her. We had our neighbors help out before and our dog wouldn't let them near her, but with Erin, our dog was her sweet self. Erin was punctual and made me feel at ease right away. She also left our house just as we left it. I would highly recommend Erin for any pet sitting needs.

Elisabeth is kind, responsive, and provides the highest level of care for pets - she is better than we ever imagined a sitter on Rover could be! We will without question be requesting Elisabeth again to care for our cat while we are away. She gave us such a peace of mind that our cat was in great hands that we will consider adjusting our travel plans to ensure that Elisabeth is available to care for our cat. We were a bit nervous to leave our super senior cat with very specific medical needs, but Elisabeth quickly helped us relax into vacation mode! She took the most amazing care of our sweet cat - giving her daily medications (oral, topical, and injections). Elisabeth sent daily updates - including weighing how much food our cat ate (just like we do) so we had accurate data to provide to our vet. She purchased supplies that would help us dispense a new medication easier. Elisabeth also left our home in pristine condition - she even washed the sheets and made the bed before leaving.

Madeline did an amazing job watching our two cats and dogs while my husband and I were out of town. She made sure to always check in and give the best updates. I always believe animals are great judges of character and all four of our animals took to her right away.

Irina watched my small dog who doesn’t do well with being left alone for a long time while I attended a wedding and my dog was so relaxed and happy with Irina when I came back! Irina is great about sending pictures and updates and amazing with my dog. Thank you Irina!

We had a wonderful meet and greet with Val! She is so attentive and caring. Our dog Ruthie can be nervous with new people but she really seems to love and feel comfortable with her. We can tell Val loves animals and truly treats them as her own. We look forward to her future stays. Thank you so much Val!

Kate is now one of my go-to people to care for my special needs senior pup! He is always calm and happy when I return, in spite of his constant state of senior anxiety, so I know she is super sweet with him which is just what he expects and needs :) Thanks Kate!

Jena was THE BEST pet sitter. Not only did she update me several times a day with pictures of my higher-intensity dog Murray, take him on way more walks than I ever could, give him her undivided attention, but she left my house so clean and respected. I'm so excited to have found her here and I can't wait to have her back!
