Dog Walking East Village

About: DOG EXPERIENCE: I have been a supportive and loyal dog auntie for 7+ years to many of my closest friends! I have brought their dogs to my home, boarded at theirs, and provided ad hoc walking assistance and play sessions whenever needed for them. CAT EXPERIENCE: I am a lifelong cat parent! I had 2 cats growing up, both of which lived 10+ years with me in my childhood home! After moving to New York, my roommate and I co-parented her cat during our time together until she whisked him away to his permanent vacation home in SF. After moving into my own apartment, I adopted a 1 year old Tuxie who was FELV+. Caring for a cat with special health issues taught me how to be deeply attuned to appetite changes, litter habits, hydration, anxiety, etc. I also developed special skills such as administering various types of medications. While he unfortunately succumbed to his illness last year, I was able to adopt 2 three month old kitten siblings from the same shelter! I have learned through them the dynamics between male vs. female behaviors, post-surgery care with their spay and neuter, and navigating their growth spurts and the varying energy levels of young kittens. I have grown to truly understand what cats need most to thrive in their environments: routines, consistent play time and enrichment, reassurance, and just someone to feel fully safe with. What really drives me to pursue pet sitting is that I have had past experiences with sitters looking after my own pets that have not been satisfying, and since then I’ve been committed to providing support that is punctual and to a tee to the instructions given. I am primarily available on weekends Friday - Sunday at any given time needed starting from 6AM to as late as 11PM. There is flexibility on Mondays through Thursdays post 6PM based on the service required I understand how crucial it is to abide by your pets’ regular routine to a tee. New people are already anxiety-inducing and stressful for them as it is! When it comes to my own cats, I feed them 3x a day by my own hand, with snacks set up on an auto feeder twice a day. Cats need at least 30 mins of enrichment and novelty a day, so I typically play with them and introduce something new in the mornings and at night right before bed. I scoop their litter box 3x a day as well. I can also assist with any grooming needs such a nail clipping, teeth brushing, etc. For dogs, I have always walked them 3x a day for my friends and given at least 10 mins of playtime post walks.

About: I grew up with a dog (from the puppy stage) and took care of her throughout high school, which gave me plenty of experience with the day-to-day responsibility of caring for a pet. I also regularly helped neighbors by walking and dog-sitting their dogs. I genuinely love animals and am comfortable caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m responsible, attentive, and will always make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and well cared for. I work full-time, but my weekends are generally free and I’m also available before or after work on weekdays. I’d genuinely love to make space for an animal in my work week. Whether it’s a morning walk, an evening visit, or weekend care, I’m excited to spend more time with animals and give them plenty of attention and love. I take pet care very seriously and will always prioritize your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine. I’m attentive to instructions and will make sure your pet gets the care, exercise, attention, and companionship they need. I’m happy to care for pets in their own home, where they can stay comfortable in their familiar environment.

About: I’ve grown up with both dogs and cats and even have my own cat in NYC named Loki. I have both experience with dogs and cats and love being able to take care of them. I understand being away from pets can cause about, but I am determined to make sure you feel comfortable while you’re away from them. I am willing to accommodate any request you have to ensure your comfortability! I work part time and live with a roommate who is also around the apartment often. We both want to take care of animals and will be around frequently! I am located in an apartment building and have encounter no safety hazards with my own cat. I also have a furbo to monitor my own cat when I am at work.

About: Since I was a kid I’ve had puppies, senior dogs, dogs in need of medicine, and dogs who pull. I’ve also been the caretaker for a few loving cats over the years! I just moved to the city and thought the best way to get to know my new home would be through getting to know the pets that call NYC home! I currently live with two dogs and am unable to host your pets in my home unfortunately but I hope to change that very soon!

About: Experienced dog-walker, dog-sitter, and overall dog-lover. I grew up with a Bichon Havanese, who I raised and took care of for 15 years. Since then, I have gone through great lengths to make friends with as many dogs as possible. I have worked as a dog-walker and pet-sitter in Boston, Florida, and New York, and also dog-sat while working abroad in Central America. These days, I work remotely for a non-profit and have plenty of capacity to care for pups while I’m at home. I am sadly not able to have a dog of my own in my current living situation, so I am always very happy to spend time with friends' and clients' pets! I am excited to be working with Rover because I am excited to connect with new families and continue doing the work that I love the most. Since my work is done completely from home, I have a lot of capacity for pet-setting from my home, and have plenty of time to play and go on walks with your pups. I live in a spacious studio apartment, so your pets will have plenty of room to stretch out and play and have the zoomies, and it’s also very easy for me to keep a close eye on them since there is only one room. Safety is a priority for me.

“So happy we found Michael. My dog Charlie is dog reactive, has stranger danger, and pulls on the lead, which is not easily managed living in East Village. Not only did Michael greet her in the appropriate way for a dog with stranger danger, but she has warmed up to him very quickly. During their walks which she absolutely loves, he works/trains to help desensitize and redirect her when other dogs come. If you have a dog with special behaviors that requires a more experienced dog handler, then I would highly recommend Micheal. In addition he can also take care of our cats when we are away, and can also give medications which is a huge bonus.”

Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and little quirks - from shy rescues to playful puppies to senior sweethearts who need extra support. I’m attentive to animal body language and emotional needs, and I always take the time to make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and understood. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, so I can reliably drop in throughout the day - rain or shine - to keep your pet’s routine consistent. Whether your fur baby needs walks, meals, medication, enrichment time, or just extra cuddles, I’m happy to tailor my care to exactly what they need. Safety and cleanliness are extremely important to me. I always refresh water bowls, follow feeding routines closely, and make sure everything is secure before I leave. If you let me know where your trash can and cleaning supplies are, I’m more than happy to clean up any little “oopsies.” I can also vacuum or sweep up any litter that adventurous kitties might track around - whatever helps keep your home tidy and your pets comfortable. I also keep a close eye on pets at all times and send updates, photos, or videos so you always feel connected and at ease while you’re away.
