“Sophia was amazing with Loxi while I was away. She would come greet her every night and play with her as she got her ready for her walk. My doggie who is normally pretty sad when I am away was playful and happy the whole time in large part due to Sophia!!! :) From the meet and greet to the end of my vacation, Sophia put in so much care, attention and love into caring for my doggy I cannot express how much I appreciate it and and so grateful so her to have been cared for so well while I was away. I would definitely have Sophia walk my doggy again anytime!!”

“Rachael is so sweet with our large dog. He loves walking with her. She is great at communicating with us and gives us a detailed report of everything after the walks. She is very warm and compassionate. Would highly recommend!”

“Mariele was an absolute lifesaver! She was so flexible even though I gave her little notice. She was so sweet with my babies and really eased my mind while I was away.”

About: Hello! Thank you for visiting my Rover page. I’m Melanie, an animal lover and pet sitter based in Manhattan. I owned multiple dogs growing up and miss being around animals, which is why I started pet-sitting! A little bit more about me: I currently live in FiDi area and work mostly remotely in tech. I’ve been living in NYC for over a year, and moved here from the Bay Area where I also attended college. I’m originally from LA! My experience: - I’ve owned and worked with various dog breeds (including large dogs!) and temperaments - I love taking long walks with my pet guests and live right by Battery Park - I’ve volunteered at animal shelters for several years, not only walking dogs but also taking care of cleaning and feeding (including cats!) - I’m punctual, dependable, and will always prioritize the well-being of your pet Please feel free to reach out if you need assistance with your pet! Also more than happy to meet or call to discuss your pet’s needs. I’m available most days on weekends. I’m also available Mondays and Fridays during the day. Please take a look at my calendar and see if any availability works for you! If you don’t see a time you prefer, please feel free to send me a message and we can work out another suitable time. I have walked dogs of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments through my years of owning dogs, dogsitting, and volunteering. I understand every pet owner wants to keel their furry friends safe — we can schedule time to call / talk in person regarding your preferences for your pet’s needs.

About: I have always had unique bonds with many pets! I take this rewarding experience seriously. I have reliably walked, played, fed, and petsat for many families for the past 6 years. I currently have a part time job in retail so I do have plenty of time during the day to take care of and play with your pets! I work about 3-4 days a week, but still have time on workdays. I shall do whatever you need me to do for your pet. Walks, playing, house sitting, you name it! Very willing to do even the not so fun stuff. Currently living in an apartment in the financial district in Manhattan. I do not have any pets currently living with me.
“Kate did a wonderful job walking Atlas. She was very attentive to his needs and did a long walk for his high energy. I would recommend her to anyone. She is great with animals and really cares about their well being”

“This was my first time booking Rosanna and she was so responsive and made me feel at ease. The dogs seemed to love her too, would book again with Rosanna in a heartbeat.”

“She is great with dogs! My wife was a witness of Tobi behaving great while walking with Brie as opposed to how he pulls and barks all the time when he walks with us. She was really accomodating when I contacted on the last minute because our usual walker got sick. 100% recomendable and depenable!”

About: I started volunteering for the MSPCA when I was 15, and I never looked back. I’ve taken care of rabbits, cats, and dogs all my life, and have loved every animal I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. I first got my bunnies when I was 6, and took care of them on my own until I was 17. I have taken care of sick, old, and newborn animals and have cleaned more pee and poop accidents than I could count. I specialize in rabbits, but have also cared for cats and dogs alike! I am currently working part time as well as going to college, but my schedule is extremely flexible and I would be willing to drop what I’m doing in order to care for your pet. This will vary depending on your pet. I have extensive experience with caregiving, and have no problem bathing, walking, feeding, or giving your pet their daily medication. I pride myself on a job well done and friends made along the way, and whatever rules or restrictions your pet had will be followed to the T! Of course, enrichment is a very critical part of pet sitting, so I will make sure your pet is well played with and has access to everything they would need in order to have fun.
“Britni has been a very caring, responsible and reliable person. She's proactive and communicative, and most importantly, she's very loving towards my dog Spike. He looks forward to his walks with her in the mornings. Highly recommend Britni to entrust her care of your furry babies.”

“Maria goes above and beyond in taking care of Fergie! Making sure she has water before leaving to cleaning up any messes, it’s greatly appreciated. Always responds to any extra asks from me as well, with no complaints. Thanks again!”
“Coby did an excellent job walking our pup! He has been responsive throughout the process and took the time to come meet her before the first walk. Coby is reliable and we’ll definitely use him again!”

“Todd walked my large pile of energy regularly for months and Winston loved him! He was super communicative and flexible, which was very appreciated for my ever-changing work schedule.”

About: As a caretaker who leads with patience and intention, I’m here to care for your pets exactly how you would. I want your pet to feel as comfortable as they would with you there. I have cared for dogs and cats my whole life - understanding the temperament and needs of every creature. Experienced with all cats and dogs (birds too, but that’s probably for another app.) I currently work part-time, so my schedule is extremely open for work! I also love to housesit, especially because it helps me know a pet better. Available weekdays most times, and weekend mornings. I currently have no pets in my apartment space. However, I am more focused on caring for pets at clients’ homes. I’m extremely respectful of spaces and you can trust me with your abode.

“Minako was very easy to communicate with and responsive. She sent me a photo and a little report card of each walk (when it started when it ended, how many times my dog went to the bathroom)!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Financial District
Megan was eager to take our dog, Lulu for her daily walks multiple times a week as a regular client! She’s so sweet to Lulu and didn’t hesitate at all, despite Lulu’s reactivity to other dogs. She’s thorough in her updates and always sends us photos in the Rover Cards. We love Megan and are so excited to keep working with her!

Gabrielle walked Birdie first thing in the morning in the rain - no small feat, considering Birdie hates the rain! She was patient, kind and communicative the entire time. Birdie was happy to see her on her second walk! We’d love to have Gabrielle walk Birdie again

Jorge was absolutely fantastic with Dahlia and we would rebook with him in a heartbeat! Dahlia can be a bit of a diva—especially with new dog walkers—and he handled it with aplomb, gaining her trust with patience and kindness. He also provided extremely thorough daily summaries and photos of their walks, and was responsive, communicative, and flexible when needed. Thank you Jorge for taking such good care of our girl!

We are very pleased with our first experience with Charlotte! She was very communicative, which I appreciated and sent regular updates during her visit with our two pups. Everything went well on their walk and she was even able to handle our jack russell who is very skittish with new people! We will definitely be reaching out to book with her again.
