About: While new to Rover, I've I've been pet sitting and caring for my own pets since I was ten. Growing up in California, I rode horses and spent a lot of time on ranches and farms. My family always had big dogs: currently, they have a wildly smart and energetic Australian Shepherd, Ginger, and when I was a little kid, we had an Alaskan Malamute. Here in New York, I live with two very mellow cats who I adore, and I find taking care of other people's dogs (and cats!) to be the perfect solution to not having the space for more pets of my own. I am very comfortable around all kinds of animals...I've cared for and owned not only dogs and cats, but also horses, rabbits, ducks, chickens, hamsters, guinea pigs, lizards, mice, fish...and there are definitely a few more species I am forgetting. Because I work remotely and part-time, I have lots of time dedicate to playing, cuddling, potty breaks, and walks, as well as any kind of special monitoring or additional care your pet may require. I have experience walking difficult dogs, socializing with timid cats, and administering medication! Whatever their needs and disposition, your pet will be in great hands with me :) I work remotely handling bookstore and gallery operations in addition to maintaining my own practices. My work is very flexible, so I can easily structure my work around your pet’s needs. Please feel free to reach out to see if I am available :) I am very attentive to the pets I care for. I’m familiar with many personality types and can adjust my approach to fit your pet! With dogs, I love a nice walk followed by playtime and some relaxing together once they're tired out. I can only offer housesitting in your home (rather than boarding in my home) out of respect for the very particular cats living in my home.

About: I am a NY State certified Mandated Reporter with extensive training in child and animal safety procedures. I have worked as a volunteer dog walker and am a lifelong animal lover of all kinds and temperaments. I am patient and gentle with creatures, and I took care of my family dog, a terrier named Pumpkin, for four years. I'm a student in an arts program, but could make time in every one of my days for animals. Being around pets of all kinds fulfills me. My apartment is on the smaller side, so I am most able to care for small to medium dogs in my own home. In your home, your pet will never be bored. I have experience in childcare, and know how to calm and brighten a pet's day with my demeanor.

“George was prompt and extremely sweet. He and my dog Blaze hit it off immediately. When Blaze came back he was exhausted .I would recommend him and it de him in the future.”

“Siddhi was a great person to take care of my dog! She met up the day before to go over all the instructions, gave regular updates, and even gave me some tips how to walk my own dog. Kaisa is 60 lbs so I was worried about her pulling too much on the walk but Siddhi is very familiar with all types of dogs and this was no problem for her. Great service overall!”

“So incredibly helpful, went above and beyond for my dog. I would 100% use again. Really great with keeping you in the loop and being mindful in the heat”

“Mary was fantastic with Nova! She followed all of my instructions and sent plenty of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind. It was clear that Nova was well cared for and in great hands. I would absolutely book Mary again.”

About: I’m new to Rover but not new to taking care of pups! Last year I fostered dogs through Hearts and Bones for 4 months when my schedule allowed for it. Also, I have been a dog walker and over night caretaker for many friends and families dogs! I love dogs and all pets, I look after them with care and kindness. I have experience with dogs who have special needs and one of my fosters dogs had surgery while I was taking care of him so I am also familiar with many situations! Hello! This summer I transitioned from being a software engineer to a student to pursue my Tech MBA at NYU. Most days I have one class from 9am-noon near Washington Square Park then spend my rest of the day in the area or back home in Williamsburg near Mccaren Park. I am very trustworthy and respectful of everyone’s space. For dog walking and sitting I am very good with instructions and you can count on me to take the best care of your pet!
“I was in a bind because my Dogwalker called in sick at that last minute and Nikki & Chris stepped in and took Maggie for her walks!! They were so attentive and kind, I’d definitely consider using them again! Highly recommend!!”

“Vanessa is very communicative and always on time & responsive. She’s been a star working with our very skittish and nervous bernese and has successfully made friends with our dog - which is hard to do. We are very happy to have found her!”

“Cheryl is responsive and reliable, great with my dog my Lilah who is a new rescue adjusting to NYC life. She loves their long walks and play time!”

“Sonya is wonderful. She took great attention to making sure she understood our pup’s routine. She’s a natural with him as he was instantly comfortable being walked. We’d certainly work with Sonya again in the future.”

“Onyx is always reliable, communicative, and responsible. I have trusted her to walk my dog Lucy every day and she has never missed a day without advanced notice. She always keeps me updated and pays close attention to any changes in behavior. I always felt that Lucy was safe and I didn't have to worry about her while I was at work. Unfortunately we are moving away or I would continue to use her service. I could not recommend her more!”

About: Hi! I’m Esther - a lifelong animal lover who’s raised dogs from high school through adulthood and now has a pup of my own. I know firsthand how much trust it takes to leave your fur baby with someone new, and I care for every pet with the same patience, gentleness, and consistency I give my own. Over the years, I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, temperaments, and little quirks - from shy rescues to playful puppies to senior sweethearts who need extra support. I’m attentive to animal body language and emotional needs, and I always take the time to make sure each pet feels safe, comfortable, and understood. I work remotely with a flexible schedule, so I can reliably drop in throughout the day - rain or shine - to keep your pet’s routine consistent. Whether your fur baby needs walks, meals, medication, enrichment time, or just extra cuddles, I’m happy to tailor my care to exactly what they need. Safety and cleanliness are extremely important to me. I always refresh water bowls, follow feeding routines closely, and make sure everything is secure before I leave. If you let me know where your trash can and cleaning supplies are, I’m more than happy to clean up any little “oopsies.” I can also vacuum or sweep up any litter that adventurous kitties might track around - whatever helps keep your home tidy and your pets comfortable. I also keep a close eye on pets at all times and send updates, photos, or videos so you always feel connected and at ease while you’re away.

Ray has been walking my dog Bucky for months, and we love everything about Ray! He is open and flexible when we request nitty-gritty stuff for Bucky’s walk, such as bringing water, putting a cooling shirt on, walking in the shade, etc. We are lucky to have Ray around :)

Nicole is amazing! She’s great with our dog, who can be a jerk to other dogs sometimes, and I love the smiley dog pics I get from her 😊. We’ve contacted her last minute and she’s accommodated, and she’s rolled with the punches when things weren’t where we said they’d be. Sorry/thank you Nicole!!

Valentina is great! My dog looks forward to his daily walks and was a lifesaver finding Valentina to take him out while I’m at work. She sends pictures and is in contact daily so I can feel at ease while away from my dog and can see he is having a good time while out and about! Def. recommend!
Amanda was so sweet with Quincy! I really appreciated how she took the time to use the commands I shared beforehand and was so understanding of Quincy's routine. It made me feel like she genuinely cared about making her comfortable and giving her a great walk. She was easy to communicate with, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing Quincy was in such good hands. I’m so glad we found her, and I’d happily book with her again!
