“Cheryl walks Slash every week - she’s been a great help to us as we are in the office more often. She’s very communicative and adjusts what she does with Slash depending on weather or how energetic he is that day. Would definitely recommend Cheryl to anyone who needs a reliable dog walker!”

About: I keep a good balance between walk time and sniff time, I always make sure they at least go pee before we finish our walk! I’m currently overnight sitting a cat but I am around between 9am and 5pm! I can also do before 8:30am or after 5:30pm if needed I make sure to assess the personality of the friend I am meeting, and do whatever is needed to make sure they’re good for the day
“Elisabeth was wonderful to coordinate with and was extremely responsive and prompt. She gave a detailed account of his walk with many photos. I would love to work with her again!”

“Sophia was amazing with Loxi while I was away. She would come greet her every night and play with her as she got her ready for her walk. My doggie who is normally pretty sad when I am away was playful and happy the whole time in large part due to Sophia!!! :) From the meet and greet to the end of my vacation, Sophia put in so much care, attention and love into caring for my doggy I cannot express how much I appreciate it and and so grateful so her to have been cared for so well while I was away. I would definitely have Sophia walk my doggy again anytime!!”

“Eleni has been super responsive and even helped me figure out how to use the app! She’s patient, communicative, and has been so good with my dog Poppy. I look forward to working with her again!”

“So happy we found Michael. My dog Charlie is dog reactive, has stranger danger, and pulls on the lead, which is not easily managed living in East Village. Not only did Michael greet her in the appropriate way for a dog with stranger danger, but she has warmed up to him very quickly. During their walks which she absolutely loves, he works/trains to help desensitize and redirect her when other dogs come. If you have a dog with special behaviors that requires a more experienced dog handler, then I would highly recommend Micheal. In addition he can also take care of our cats when we are away, and can also give medications which is a huge bonus.”

“Mary is amazing she is so sweet and affectionate towards my dog and has been available last minute for extra/ longer walks. I feel good knowing my dog is cared for by her!”

“Appreciated Phillip working with my schedule and covering for my usual dog care. He has an awesome attitude and was great with my little fussy fur boy. I will definitely reach out to Phillip again!”

About: I’m new to Rover but not new to taking care of pups! Last year I fostered dogs through Hearts and Bones for 4 months when my schedule allowed for it. Also, I have been a dog walker and over night caretaker for many friends and families dogs! I love dogs and all pets, I look after them with care and kindness. I have experience with dogs who have special needs and one of my fosters dogs had surgery while I was taking care of him so I am also familiar with many situations! Hello! This summer I transitioned from being a software engineer to a student to pursue my Tech MBA at NYU. Most days I have one class from 9am-noon near Washington Square Park then spend my rest of the day in the area or back home in Williamsburg near Mccaren Park. I am very trustworthy and respectful of everyone’s space. For dog walking and sitting I am very good with instructions and you can count on me to take the best care of your pet!
“Anne was great and super patient with my very nervous and reactive dog. She shared lots of updates and was willing to take the time to get him to warm up to her. It's clear she is a pro! Would recommend her to anybody looking for somebody to trust with their pet.”

“Brismar has been walking our 4-month-old puppy and the puppy loves it. The reports we get back are helpful, like today “she is more obedient now, maybe because she trusts me more” and “I got a lot of kisses.””

“Jose did a great job with Brody! He’s very conscientious of making sure that Brody is getting a safe walk through the city! Can’t wait to use him more and Brody loved the attention that Jose gave him!”
“Natalia was super patient and kind with my nervous dog, Samoa. I was worried that finding a dog walker would be difficult because she’s pretty fearful and anxious. We scheduled a few walks where I accompanied her and Samoa to get them used to each other and Natalia was super attentive to her needs and my care instructions. As a former dog walker on rover, I definitely approve of Natalia and would recommend her :).”

“Juan is absolutely amazing! He’s reliable, communicative, and truly cares about Forrest. He sends detailed updates and adorable photos after every walk. Forrest adores him and waits by the door every afternoon for his walk. It’s such a relief knowing my dog is in great hands when I’m at work. Highly recommend Juan to anyone looking for a trustworthy and kind dog walker!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life and have experience caring for pets of all sizes, ages, and energy levels. Friends, neighbors, and family have relied on me for walking, feeding, playtime, overnight care, and keeping their pets comfortable while they’re away. I’m very attentive, responsible, and active, so I’m happy to accommodate long walks, medication schedules, or extra playtime. I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I always aim to make pets feel safe, cared for, and loved. I recently graduated from Vanderbilt University and have officially moved to NYC, where I’m starting my full-time job. My schedule shows weekend availability, but I work remotely during the week, so I’m also able to accommodate weekday walks, drop-ins, and pet sitting when needed. I’ve always loved being around dogs and have plenty of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities! I always try to make pets feel comfortable by sticking closely to their normal routine and giving them plenty of attention and exercise. I grew up with multiple dogs, all with very different needs, personalities, exercise routines, and medication schedules, so I’m comfortable adapting to whatever care your pet requires. I’m very responsible, attentive, and communicative, and I’m happy to follow any specific instructions regarding feeding, medications, walks, or crate routines to make sure your pet feels safe and cared for while you’re away.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lower East Side
Megan was eager to take our dog, Lulu for her daily walks multiple times a week as a regular client! She’s so sweet to Lulu and didn’t hesitate at all, despite Lulu’s reactivity to other dogs. She’s thorough in her updates and always sends us photos in the Rover Cards. We love Megan and are so excited to keep working with her!

Gabrielle did an amazing job walking our dog Lady. She was on time and very communicative. Lady had a great time on her walk and Gabrielle was so good with her! It’s reassuring to have a dog walker we can trust. We’ll absolutely be booking her again to help with Lady!

Caroline is amazing! She took the time to carefully note all of my dog's needs and made sure everything was followed exactly. Her communication throughout the stay was excellent and she took great care of my dog. My dog was so happy and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring boarder.

Gabrielle walked Birdie first thing in the morning in the rain - no small feat, considering Birdie hates the rain! She was patient, kind and communicative the entire time. Birdie was happy to see her on her second walk! We’d love to have Gabrielle walk Birdie again

Jorge was absolutely fantastic with Dahlia and we would rebook with him in a heartbeat! Dahlia can be a bit of a diva—especially with new dog walkers—and he handled it with aplomb, gaining her trust with patience and kindness. He also provided extremely thorough daily summaries and photos of their walks, and was responsive, communicative, and flexible when needed. Thank you Jorge for taking such good care of our girl!

My dog seemed comfortable very quickly and came back tired and happy but not over crazy like he missed me too much. Just what I was hoping would happen. Getting an abused shelter dog used to getting attention from others is a slow careful process. Emily did a great job being friendly and confident.
